When I say "cancel culture" I am specifically talking about the he saud, she said, drama, non backed up, quick to judge community attacking persons/groups that seem to be popping up lately. One small issue and they blow it WAY out of proportion and try to cancel who ever it was. With no research. Just a simple well she said blah blah blah so lets run him/her to the ground. That is what a lot of people (Lara included) were trying to do with Tim. And I have seen it with so many other things Now with EC Condren? We had the facts. We had hard evidence. We had proof. But there were people out there to eat her alive and destroy a company where others worked and make a living. They didn't just simply want her to step aside/down and help the company fix the issues at hand. That is what I am over. I am also so over the camp of well my way is right, they are wrong (his group, his rules!). I wouldn't call RACISM ONE SMALL ISSUE!! Tim Holtz busted his way onto the pass the brush initiative to save face and show how with us he was! It made me sick! His close personal friend and group administrator is removing Black Lives Matter cards from his group. The team allow racist comments from the all lives matter lot to remain in the group and on the page. His group his rules does not make racism acceptable. Who do we complain to in order to make him take action and remove racist from his company so he does not have to fake it up and pretend to care about BIPOC!! I am so angry about this! Why are peoples eyes so firmly shut over this issue! Nobody is calling racism a small issue. But again, without having the screenshot of the racist comments or the deleted BLM cards, unfortunately it's another "she said they did this" situation. Look, nobody wants to close their eyes to this, nobody wants to shut down voices speaking out, but we've all learned to ask for the proof before pointing fingers or calling people/companies out. If you have factual proof, please share it. That's going to be the only way to ascertain the truth. |

I am a Black woman who has Scrapbook.com my life.
In 1999, I joined the ranks of acid free, creative keepsakes reading, Becky Higgins loving scrappers and have never looked back.
This industry has never really been about me.I can’t remember how many times I’ve been told to use markers to color in white face stickers so that they fit in my book. Really? Stickers cost 3 to 5 dollars. Who would buy stickers of dark skin people and “erase or white-out” them out every time they need to use it?
I don’t know whether the Tim Holtz / Lara Incident is true or not. I do know that Tim Holtz has never featured black artist/designers. Yes, there are some Black people in his paper doll line; but to me that’s just like the “having one black friend” response.
His PASS THE BRUSH support seems so contrived and left me shaking my head.
Tim Holtz is not alone in exclusion. AUTHENTIQUE Has no people of color represented in any of their products. Last year (2019) I
contacted them via email and on their Facebook page and never received a reply. I no longer support their brand nor by their products. I don’t support studio calico because of April Foster’s blatant dismissal BLM.
On the other hand, MAMBI Has always tried to be more inclusive starting with their stick people Way Back in the day. I also remember the BO BUNNY line with the black kids on the beach. I remember the pride I felt when seeing those on the racks at my LSS.Awesome! GRAPHIC 45 listen to the voices of people who wanted to see more diversity in their lines. I really appreciate their effort. I love and bought tons of DAMASK LOVE’s Girl Power and MME’s One Of A Kind. I buy products featuring POC even though they may be higher in price or some thing that I may never even use. I have a learn to let my black dollars speak.
BEING BLACK isn’t political. In politics there are choices and sides.Being valued and respected as a person and hears in society is supposed to be a right; not a for/against bone of contention. I MATTER! PERIOD.
Scrapbooking is a small microcosm of the world today; but it’s an area of great inspiration and love for me personally. I have always wished for more inclusion and been seen as a radical when I speak up for diversity in my craft. It’s exhausting but I feel some things must be said.

You are angry at Tim but aren't willing to put your name and face out there and show specific examples. You want someone else to care more about it than you do. That doesn't fly with me. You lose credibility with me when you are shouting how angry you are but then are not *actually* willing to stand up and do something. Sure, you posted here. Ok? I highly doubt Tim reads here. Tim owns his own business, his own product and his own social media. He can do whatever he wants. Don't like it? Start your own group where BLM, political and social issues can be shared. As it is, a random stranger on the Internet wants me to take her word that something is happening behind the scenes. Without proof. Without someone else witnessing it. Sorry, but I've been there, done that and it turned out the accuser was lying. Lesson learned. Do not think that just because I am not jumping in with both feet on your complaint that it means I don't care. I do care and I am writing companies about including more POC on their products. I am asking companies why they have no POC on their design teams. I just don't think we have enough verifiable information in your case to start making demands. |

Honestly, when Lara specified which comment on Tim’s FB has ‘tons of racist posts’ I spent quite a bit of time looking for them so I could take a screen shot and address it. I didn’t find any. Not even an all lives matter post. Trust me, I wanted to find one because I was mad, but I couldn’t. Without anything to point to to say get Tim why do you allow these racist comments on your FB there isn’t much that I can do. I don’t really buy his stuff anymore as it is so my shopping elsewhere won’t affect him.
As we found out with AC we can ask, and ask again for more representation. And I can buy things from manufacturers that reflect diversity. I can stop supporting companies whose response is lackluster and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But without Proof we can’t ‘accuse’ because that would end up being a legal issue.
You want to provide proof I’m sure there’s peas who will go to the mat with you on this issue.
Other than that I can say I’ll keep my eye out and take screen shots when I see it. And bring it up to the companies when I do. I recently did that but got no response so now I won’t shop there no matter what great designs they have. Nor will I recommend them to others.

I have not seen any. Not saying there are none, but I read many many posts there are have not seen anything even remotely close to what OP is describing. I understood there to be some about the art that was removed by the maker, but she deleted her post so those went with it.
Once again, I go back to if this were a systemic thing with TH and his brand, there would be hard evidence and examples. Not just allegations from two people.
Not being a fan girl, just think if you feel strongly enough about this, and there is truth to it, back it up. It should not be hard to show.

I will, however, publicly volunteer to help you get rid of ANY traces of your identity for any screenshots you wish to share in here in the future. I'm a digital scrapbooker and tech savvy enough to be able to erase anything related to your FB profile. Heck, I'll go as far as to erase the screen capture data so nobody can find out on which and at which exact time you took the screenshot although I don't think Tim's FB group should have you worried about someone finding out who you are by checking date + time stamps and analysing presence stats. But I'll do it anyway out of precaution. My profile shows you the amount of years I've been active + amount of posts and threads I've started. Nobody can alter those stats and the badge provided automatically by the board. You can go back in time and check to see that I'm regularly active in here. I host the December Daily threads these days (running from August until January). I'm currently listening to the Becky Higgins free "course" on documenting and reporting back in detail and with precision (timestamps, exact quotes) in the Becky Higgins thread. But if you're still scared about your identity possibly being divulged through me (which would be understandable since we don't have a personal rapport established), I will take the time to walk you through how to do it *for free* via the website of your choice online (I will offer you at least two options) or a free, open-source software like GIMP.

Okay, you can close my post then and we can all ignore the racist white lives matter posts that Zoe Hillman is sharing on her personal instagram account as igirlzoe and Tim is now sharing her posts on instagram even after he removed her samples from his live on Facebook on Saturday at the request of many people who are disgusted by her racist actions. Why has he suddenly flipped again and is now sharing her samples. Supporting racists is racism! I am angry and so should you all be. If you are not angry then there is some thing wrong with you!!!! What are you talking about? Links? I don't follow Zoe Hiilman ETA, I just looked at her IG and didn't see any white lives matter bs. Do you still see it? You're getting upset with us for not doing enough, but you're giving us absolutely nothing to work with. |

@buttons We're going around in circles here and you must have started noticing it yourself at this stage. You seem frustrated and upset which is understandable but you've seen the previous thread on this topic: without some kind of evidence, a new member without years of active participation, personal interaction, having built trust, can't expect people to simply side with them based on their word. At this stage, there isn't much more we can do for you. I will, however, publicly volunteer to help you get rid of ANY traces of your identity for any screenshots you wish to share in here in the future. I'm a digital scrapbooker and tech savvy enough to be able to erase anything related to your FB profile. Heck, I'll go as far as to erase the screen capture data so nobody can find out on which and at which exact time you took the screenshot although I don't think Tim's FB group should have you worried about someone finding out who you are by checking date + time stamps and analysing presence stats. But I'll do it anyway out of precaution. My profile shows you the amount of years I've been active + amount of posts and threads I've started. Nobody can alter those stats and the badge provided automatically by the board. You can go back in time and check to see that I'm regularly active in here. I host the December Daily threads these days (running from August until January). I'm currently listening to the Becky Higgins free "course" on documenting and reporting back in detail and with precision (timestamps, exact quotes) in the Becky Higgins thread. But if you're still scared about your identity possibly being divulged through me (which would be understandable since we don't have a personal rapport established), I will take the time to walk you through how to do it *for free* via the website of your choice online (I will offer you at least two options) or a free, open-source software like GIMP. Beyond that, this discussion can't grow and evolve much beyond your claims in page 1. You've got people willing to help you. It's up to you to do the extra bit of homework to help your message get out. Consider yourself a whistleblowing journalist if you really want the word to get out. It's 100% possible to do this without leaving any traces of who you are. You don't have to out yourself in the process and I'm reaching out to help you hide your identity (successfully, it's really not that hard, promise). Ball's in your court. Seven were BLM related and the one that they did approve was a white paper doll with no BLM message. When I contacted Zoe Hillman she was abusive and rude. Then I was threatened by email by Mario Rossi to stay away from Zoe. I know this is uncomfortable for you to read, but it is a lot worse to live through. Tim may not be racist, but by allowing Zoe Hillman to continue being a racist mean bully behind the scenes, he is allowing racism to live and be associated with his brand. For people like me who love Tim Holtz, that is so devastating and hurtful. That is where my hurt comes from and why I am angry. He needs to take such a small amount of action to right a really big wrong that is happening daily in his Addicts Facebook Group at the hands of Zoe Hillman, igirlzoe on instagram. Prove what your saying. Otherwise it’s really hard to believe you. |

I agree with Wonder Woman. Posting the link to the stamp set was no accident. And clearly Lara is not ready to let this go despite getting caught red handed. buttons is either Lara or someone just having fun with us. |

No you cannot prove what they did not post of yours, but...
You allege racist stuff is still on Addicts board. You allege Zoe H has racist stuff on her insta.
Easy enough to clear up really quickly without outing yourself. You do not need others to come forward and validate your story. Either the racist posts are there, or they are not. Several of us have looked and cannot find them.
