Oh wow, that looks good. I am not as big of a "pumpkin" person as some, I really like the apple cider doughnuts tho!
So October is turning into a busy scrappy month...I joined scraphappy, so am participating in LOAD (layout a day) challenge there for October. Then I signed up for Victoria Marie's Wizard/Halloween virtual crop in next weekend.
I ended up making some halloween pages already which ended up 12x12. So for now they are just going in regular albums. I think I will eventually pick up a black album and separate them out from years past to have in one location.
I've been decorated since Sept. 12th! And already watched most of my fav movies....It is finally more chilly and fall feeling here, so excited for some soups and stews.
Happy October ladies!

That's my thrift store porcelain doll. I stained her clothes in black tea bags and I need to attach the other porcelain doll face to her face. Wow, that doll! Her expression is so distressed, like she lives in a gothic horror or something. She's very special. I like her tea stained clothes. (And the eyeball rose) Congratulations on your fresh start oaksong - I hope this month brings you a lot of peace and calm. This thread has been hiding from me somehow... (spooky?) I haven't figured out the crafty part of my project, but I have a bit of a watch-list going, I've started reading Something Wicked This Way Comes for the 1st time, and I have a young reader's spooky story (Katherine Arden's Small Spaces) ready on audiobook once I get through my book group read. And Oct 1st dawned perfectly foggy, so I found an excuse to go for a photo walk and tried to capture all the dewy spiderwebs. Nature has been decorating for the holiday! Next time I'll take my real camera, but I got a couple of good shots... http://instagram.com/p/CF2DEi1gdoZ

Oh, and I did my decorating! I converted a corner of the bookcase into Halloween clutter central. It's a work in progress. BUT I'm really excited by one element - we have some uranium glass lemon juicers we are selling for the relatives, and they glow nuclear green under black light, and guess who happened to have a couple of spare lamps to put black light bulbs in? http://instagram.com/p/CF0momZgAmN very much not finished, but it glows like it's radioactive (because it is!) http://instagram.com/p/CF0ZFd6ApGE

we have some uranium glass lemon juicers we are selling for the relatives, and they glow nuclear green under black light I can't believe you're selling these! Uranium glass or ouraline as it's called here (sounds fancier ) is so cool. My mother works in nuclear research so she'd probably tell me to step back and run a Geiger counter before deciding whether to allow me, an independent adult, to keep it though... In her defense, some of the oldest pieces (way back in the 1800s) used to contain a lot of uranium. Love this "household items with a twist" theme you've got going. A whole kitchen cupboard of creepy and spooky kitchen items would be such a cool alternative to the usual Halloween décor!

October 3rd. Tempest Alex is behind us but the damages for some parts of the region I live in are pretty bad. I believe they're still looking for 10 people with 2 bodies recovered so far. No electricity for tens of thousands still, some villages completely cut off, etc. 'Tis the season, unfortunately. I think I'll stick to documenting something uneventful today like the album I've been listening to daily this week. I'll probably start working on my mini album this afternoon and report back in here once my photos are printed. Happy first weekend of October, everyone!

Holy crap sleepingbooty that’s scary stuff. I had no idea that storm was going on. About the juicers... the in laws have a lot. A LOT. We have been given the task of selling approximately 85 glass or ceramic lemon juicers! (I’ve sold 4 so far) and there are also two glass cases full of Depression glass, probably half of which glows, and another case of milk glass... and and and When the display cases are empty we will also have to sell those. We’re emptying a very full house. The ouraline is a low priority, so I’m making radioactive lemonade out of these lemons... My hearth looks a thrift shop, currently piled with 4 dining chairs and a secretary desk. I’m not loving it. Saturday, crafty day! Wish me luck - I’m going to try to focus and get something done! (I’m just not sure what yet)

I am attempting October "hopefully" daily this year. I was torn between 4x4 which I absolutely LOVE cause it's so manageable and finishable, travlers size, and 6x8. I ended up going with 6x8 because I was afraid of not having enough room. This is my 1st and possibly my last October daily and I want to document my family's love of Halloween going back to my mom's love of it and how she used to throw parties and dress up and also revisit some of my kids Halloweens since they aren't little anymore. Plus we have lots of littles in the family that I can for sure see at a distance for Halloween in their costumes!
Anywho, October started off very hot here, record breaking number of days over 100* for the year for us, so not very fall like in our neck of the woods! 😂 So my Halloween/fall ideas and pages look a little different around here! So the lists that are out there for October daily, half the stuff doesn't apply...I tried to get a good picture of the full moon rising but that's always a bust!
I am excited for this project though, cause Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!!

Bought the pumpkin cheesecake Bismark with caramel drizzle for my daughter and the pumpkin spice latte Bismark for me. Verdict is latte wins. I'm not a huge fan of cloves. But the latte Bismark had the perfect mixture of pumpkin spices with the clove flavor a bit bolder. Both were still excellent.

For peas that have Amazon Prime, you get two book selections this month! I've read books by Wendy Webb and Charlie Holmberg and have enjoyed them. I picked The Haunting of Brynn Wilder and Spellbreaker. Wendy Webb writes ghost stories and Charlie Holmberg books are about wizards, witches, and that type of thing. I wouldn't say I'm a GIANT fan, but they are easy escape reads and haven't regretted reading them. www.amazon.com/firstreads/ref=Booksevents_PD20_AFR_EMLD_1020

About the juicers... the in laws have a lot. A LOT. We have been given the task of selling approximately 85 glass or ceramic lemon juicers! (I’ve sold 4 so far) Ugh, you must feel frustrated at the prospect of how long it'll take to sell all of this (and get it out of the house)! Have you noticed some slowing down of sales during the pandemic? I am attempting October "hopefully" daily this year. I was torn between 4x4 which I absolutely LOVE cause it's so manageable and finishable, travlers size, and 6x8. I ended up going with 6x8 because I was afraid of not having enough room. Sounds like a fun project! A bit à la Shimelle's JYC but for Halloween. Hope you're having a relaxing weekend with plenty of crafty time so you can get started. Bought the pumpkin cheesecake Bismark with caramel drizzle for my daughter and the pumpkin spice latte Bismark for me. Yay for little pleasures! For peas that have Amazon Prime, you get two book selections this month! Alas, First Reads is only available from Prime USA or UK. I did manage to pick up the Scottish loch-based horror YA Hold Back The Tide for just over 1€ from the French Kindle store this week which makes up a little for no freebies.

joblackford I saw that about the full moon on Halloween and it's called a bluemoon!! LOVE IT! I will use one of the pics I got and just roll with it. Me and my photography friend talked about how hard it is to get a good pic of the moon without all the right equipment much less a phone. And I'm looking forward to temps in the lower 90's next week!😂 sleepingbooty Unfortunately I work full time and today is my only day off. So I am going to make my coffee and settle in with my all time favorite line that crate paper has made, hey pumpkin, and get started today, cause it's right back to work tomorrow. We will see how much the family let's me get done cause my scrap area is right in between the living room and kitchen and is out in the open. So I'm an open target!🙄 I did find these beauties at the store today and a few made their way home with me! I'd never seen fresh ones so white before!!

sleepingbooty Yikes! I am a complete weather geek, so I found your video link fascinating and horrifying. It's been rough for sure. Still dozens of people missing both on both sides of the French-Italian border. There's also that horrendous video (which I won't link, no worries) of a house in which two elderly people are signalling with a light, trying to get help but nobody can reach them and then all of a sudden, the house is swept away by the mud. I'm not even sure they'll find their bodies. There are bricks and trees (and so much mud) all over the place, right down to the beaches. Really heartbreaking. The only "good" thing to happen is that the tempest died down enough not to flood Venice which was next on its path. You can see before and after shots of the most affected valley here: Aerial shots of what's left:

I did find these beauties at the store today and a few made their way home with me! I'd never seen fresh ones so white before!! These are that delicate mix of cute and classy! I'm not sure which these are. Did they come with a name on the sticker? They could be the adorably named Baby Boo variety.

I've started working on my mini album today. So far, I have mini fig cakes, a selfie all layered up while working from home and a spread made using the box my favourite autumn perfume comes in. I need to figure out the font for my journaling and start stamping the dates on label stickers next... Piano piano.

(I’ve sold 4 so far) Ugh, you must feel frustrated at the prospect of how long it'll take to sell all of this (and get it out of the house)! Have you noticed some slowing down of sales during the pandemic? I try not to think of the big picture! We’ve been more successful and faster than FIL expected, but it’s a multi year project. It’s a very large house, 6 bedrooms? Two living rooms. Tons of storage space. We quit selling completely during the lock down, which was only about a month after we started. But once restrictions started to lift I figured that a lot of people would be itching to shop, and that seems to be correct. We switched to no-contact porch pickup for as much as possible. That’s actually reduced a lot of the stress I had about the process. This weekend I sold two sets of dining chairs (FIL’s and an old set of ours we had stashed) and the lady who bought our chairs also bought 2 secretary desks, one I hadn’t even had a chance to list yet. So glad to have my space back! and I got my Halloween shelf situation reorganized http://instagram.com/p/CF8VBE0A0En

The spooky kitchen theme is bonkers good, joblackford . Love it! And it's super original, too. Love that Maleficent colour scheme. I'm glad to hear sales are happening again and people are buying. I hear there's a desk shortage in the US right now so sounds like you picked the perfect moment to open up again and put those secretary desks out! October 5th and I had the morning off. We went to IKEA to pick up door hooks to hang our coats and scarves now that they won't be slipped into the wardrobe every time we get home as we used to (thanks, coronavirus!) and stuff for family and friends. I totally also picked up a roll of Christmas giftwrap featuring vintagey gnomes and cats. It was pretty calm compared to last time, phew! I didn't take a photo, however. Not a fan of using my phone when shopping and touching stuff other people have touched right now. I'll probably snap a photo of some of our IKEA purchases tomorrow to add to my album. Song of the day:

This may not count as October/Fall and some of you may laugh but I had Horchata for the first time ever yesterday. It has cinnamon, so it's got that fall thing going for it; at least for me!
"traditional Mexican drink made by soaking rice and cinnamon together for 24 hours and then adding milk."

The packaging was really close to TN size, so I thought I better get it in case I do a TN... So there's a Pepperidge Farms factory sort of close-ish to me, but there's these people that come to my town and sell the overstock and the unloved, slightly damaged packages. I have not had that flavor yet, but I have had mint, dark chocolate sea salt, double dark chocolate, milk chocolate, orange chocolate, chocolate caramel, and double milk chocolate.
When I went there last time, they were giving away a free package of cookies because there was a tear in the side, but there was absolutley no holes! Now I like their chocolate chip cookies.
In summary, I'm a Milanos fan and have a big bag of messed up mint Milanos in my pantry.
