If you’re interested in printing some of your own elements for October Daily, Sweet Shoppe Designs is having a 50% off sale on last year’s digital kits. There are several Halloween-themed kits, as well as a number of fall kits. Wow! What an amazing collection!

I can't believe we are just a few days away from October!
I am excited to get started taking photos. Day one might be easy, as we are expecting our first frost.

It will make for a very pretty photo, however. I'm putting off baking some mini yoghurt cakes with the last figs of the season so I can add it to my October Daily. They're sitting there, all fresh and perfectly ripe, on the kitchen table, taunting me... Oh, the silly antics we get up to for scrapbooking, I swear.

We already had a least 2 days with frost on the cars outside. It seemed quite early this year. Major cold front over Europe, too. I hate these extreme swings we're experiencing as we transition to a new (ugh) climate. I've never known such a cool end to the summer in Mediterranean Europe before. I've never had to put away my sandals before October. So, so cold. Two weeks ago, we had over 32°C/90°F daily. Today we barely made 19°C/66°F.

What I wouldn't give for some cooler weather! We're supposed to hit 104 on Weds. in SoCal. I am ready for this heat to be over.

I cheated and took a photo of some squash my mom had lined up in the sun on her deck to ripen. It was such a pretty look and I probably won't be back up to see her in October. I plan to title it harvest.

I just placed a print order for some 6x8 prints for my album. CVS has a 50% off for enlargements, so I figured I'd better take advantage of it while I can.
I still have a ways to go on the rest of my sizing and editing though. I'm not doing a daily. I have 2002 through 2007 finished, but I'll need to scan the 2001 photos, and of course finish 2008 onward. I might quit early and just save some of the more recent years to scrap next year.

Might be a good use for the Positivity Passport! I'm using the Positivity Passport for October as I will also document our annual Halloween party (just the children and a cousin with lots of games, prizes and food) in our Halloween 3x8 album. I love that one day out of the year is in one album, it'll probably go into 2 albums over the course of my children enjoying to dress in costumes.

Just ordered another pack of Selphy dye cartridges + paper from Amazon so I won't run low during the project. I'm *so* ready to begin.

I'm trying to get back into scrapbooking, so I'm going to try this. I made my album (TN) last night and tonight I am going to cut out numbers for the days so they're consistent. I am using the Echo Park Hello Autumn kit I got this month. Looking forward to seeing everyone's October Daily and hoping for inspiration from y'all!

And here we go... It is October 1st. I slept in a little today and got up around 7 o'clock. There's a real chill in the air as autumn has come far quicker than it usually does this year. We're expected to have moody weather with grey skies and a bit of rain here and there for the end of the week. I guess the meteorological gods have decided I should be thrown into the October arena from day 1 and I've accepted the challenge. Fuzzy socks, thick sweater, café au lait for breakfast and some mini fig cakes to bake during my morning break. I hope October 1st is a wonderful day wherever you are. Song of the day: MDscrapaholic Looking great! The stamped leaves add so much depth. marie Can't wait to see what you come up with for your Halloween Highlights album! Will you be scrapbooking today?

I think I'm going to try this in a 4x4 album.
This is somewhat ambitious, given that I haven't scrapped at all this year, hahaha.

It's the easiest mini album format to complete. I've done 2 fat 4x4 albums this year so far ("the cobblestones"). This will be my third and I'm considering a 4th for DD... If I can finish one, anyone can. I am a lazy scrapbooker...

Put up decorations today. Yeah, they don't make sense. Most of it is stuff I won't cry about if it gets destroyed! It's a hodgepodge of stuff from over 20 years. The Clifford book was from my grandma. She taught elementary school and retired in the late 1960's or early 70's. The other books were my moms; she's 75. The Happy Halloween cross-stitch was made by my mom.

sleepingbooty check out my eyeball in a rose! That was my small addition to the tree this year. That's my thrift store porcelain doll. I stained her clothes in black tea bags and I need to attach the other porcelain doll face to her face.
ETA: I have some paper globe lights that are black and white I need to hang up along the edge of the entertainment center along with my mini skeletons.

Mini fig cakes for Oct. 1st: Those look good! Can you share the recipe? Thanks! Me too! I managed to get my little fig tree to survive our last Vermont winter so if I am on a roll I will eventually have homegrown figs to make them with! I am waiting for an order with Simple Stories Autumn Splendor before I start my album. I don't think it'll be an October Daily though. I am thinking it'll cover the start of school through Thanksgiving. I will be enjoying the inspiration posted here though!

No scrapping for me today, but I will certainly journal about it later. After 4 months of renovating, selling my old home, purchasing another, I moved into my little townhouse. Things are chaotic but I am finally free of a 30-year marriage that wasn’t a safe, happy place. So ready to start my new life!
I started journaling daily this year and October will be a continuation of my monthly passport-size CD planner kit. Looking forward to hanging out with my Peaps again!

@northrigg ghislaine Thanks! I'd love to share the recipe but really, it's just a basic go-to cake batter poured into a muffin pan in which I semi-sank a quarter of fresh fig per mini cake. Nothing special. In this case, I made a yogurt and olive oil cake batter to which I added freshly grated cinnamon. Easy peasy! The figs will sweeten and go syrupy in the oven which gives the cake that little extra oomph of goodness. oaksong Congratulations! It must feel so good and liberating. Wishing you loads of happiness in your new townhouse. I bet you'll have loads of things to write and get off your mind and your heart. Bring on the catharsis and healing. refugeepea How fun and festive! I love that you left it to the 1st of October to decorate and that are so many generational hand-me-downs. What an adorable Halloween tree! Big fan of the eyeball in the rose ornament, especially that super moody plum shade for the rose. Is that a glass-wearing bird skeleton?

Ah, oaksong that is amazing news, congratulations! sleepingbooty your fig cakes look amazing! Well I had a gorgeous start to October yesterday. Had the day off work and headed off to a gallery and a socially distanced catch up with one of my best friends who I've not seen since February. We wandered around a quiet Soho where most of the streets have been closed off to traffic and restaurants have put chairs and tables out and we shared a bottle of wine and the weather was as perfect as it could be for autumn and I came home the most happy and contented as I have been in months. As a bonus I was home, in pajamas and in bed with a cup of tea by eight. Today is blowing a gale and pouring with rain and I think today is a day of crafting and drinking all the coffee.

No definitive photo for October 2nd yet. I think I'll settle for the selfie I took in the morning, wearing a thick fleece jumper (over another jumper ). It's humidity galore here. Heavy winds and rain. My nose is all stuffy. I'm all layered up. I feel like I'm stuck in a depressing poem. Grey clouds, dramatic raindrop races on the windows, mugs of steaming tea and missing summer so much. How are things where you are? Song of the day:
