I still have plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. I’ve got Clorox wipes but would grab more if I saw them. I have plenty of hand sanitizer.
I’ve still got basic meds for most everything.
I had to restock some fridge items and some things in the freezer because of the power outage with the derecho in the Midwest, so those are okay now.

Yes, it’s just built into my DNA (daughter of a doomsday prepper ). But it’s not crazy overboard. I just pick up an extra here and there of things we eat all the time. I’ve been stocking up on more freeze dried vegetables and soup mixes because we can always eat soup. I’ve also been getting freeze dried fruit to put in oatmeal, and just some extra staples and condiments. I have a back up of soap and detergent, bleach, and alcohol. It all still fits in my pantry so I’m not to hoarding-levels yet. I ordered a big jar of dried red and green bell pepper. When I only shop once a week, it seems I never have enough produce on hand when I want it, and the frozen onion/pepper blend I always rely on at Kroger has been very hard to get. With dried minced onion and these bell peers, I can jazz up ground meat for pasta sauce.

I've been keeping up with things that were either out or had a limit earlier in the pandemic (canned goods - pasta - yeast - flour...). I'm being reasonable, but we are rural and have limited options unless we drive to bigger towns, so I want to be careful. We do still have some pork left (bought a hog a few months ago) and just got a quarter cow for our freezer. I will probably get a bit more chicken.

I had posted this early July, some minor updates: Stuff has been hit or miss here since this all began. I have quietly plugged along and stalked online for supplies and also look on the rare times I go in the store. I think it is going to hit the fan here in the late summer in to fall. Then add in the election, bad weather, and a family member having surgery. I decided to stock up on all non food things to last through the end of the year easily so we can avoid the hassle and keep her safe during her long recovery. I’m buying for 2 households. Other than food, both households have everything we need to carry us through with a cushion and even have our preferred brands. Includes cleaning, cooking stuff like ziplocks and foil, paper products, household items, hygiene items, meds, laundry.
*Since I posted that I bought them a freezer. They also cleared out a closet for supplies. They now have enough canned goods and pantry items and freezer goods they could limp along for months. One surgery down, one to go. One less thing for them to worry about. We are stocked here and our food choices may wind up limited but we’d be okay.
When this hit the shelves were bare, pickup could take 2 hours and 2/3 of your order be canceled with no subs. Not doing that this fall, winter if I can help It.
I’ve also donated supplies, sent supplies to other families and am always willing to help out so I don’t feel bad that we are prepared. I’ve spent 5 months plugging along on it.

My mom had a habit of buying a new bottle or container of something shortly after opening a new one so that there was always a new bottle of whatever in the cabinet. Emptied the shampoo? Grab the new bottle and put it on the list and it was bought on the next trip to the store. I got into that habit when it comes to most stuff so there's always a bottle of mouthwash, shampoo, soap, cleaning wipes, etc in the cabinet somewhere.
I do this with bathroom products, cleaning products and shelf stable food. This has been useful because the teenagers rarely tell me when something's empty. Nothing like finding out the ranch dressing was practically empty when I had a salad but hey, I had a new bottle!

Yes. If it's true that we're going to have a big surge in the Fall, I've been stocking up for months.
My 89-year-old Dad lives with us, and I've been stocking up on his favorite treats, too.

Me either or hand soap. I look everywhere I go. That stuff went out of stock and that was the end of it. I’ve found most things that were hard to find in the spring are back in the stores now. Often with limits, not necessarily the brand I want, and definitely not on sale. But I haven’t laid eyes on disinfecting spray in six months. And my supermarket has been out of both Method hand soap and Method dish liquid for months. Maybe I should try Target instead. I bought both Method products on AMazon within the last two weeks

We have a cabinet in our garage that is just for cleaning supplies and paper products. There is always a stash of dish soap, bleach, dishwasher tabs, clorox/lysol wipes, etc.
I recently replaced our ancient freezer with one that is smaller and way more energy efficient. I'm working on adding to it, but have a good start on a supply of meat and frozen vegetables we'd use. We could live for several weeks on what we have in the house right now (except for fresh produce, of course).

I still can’t find any cleaning supplies here. Haven’t seen wipes or any kind of all purpose disinfecting spray since March. Just went looking today. Yep. Can't stockpile what I can't find.

No. Since we went through the first wave I feel more confident about supplies going into the second wave. We didn’t really run out or go without. Supply chair worked fine.

It all still fits in my pantry so I’m not to hoarding-levels yet. Can you please tell me more about the freeze dried items and where you buy them? I’ve been buying them off of Amazon - Auguson brand usually (which I’ve also seen in Walmart). I’ve been using the fruit, blueberries and strawberries, in my oatmeal in the mornings so I just bought two more cans as a backup. They’re not cheap but they’ll last longer than dehydrated fruits. I have a soup mix and a stew mix as well, and some freeze dried eggs and freeze dried cheese sauce. I had purchased my own freeze-drying machine a few months ago, but it was going to take at least two months to arrive and after doing more research I realized I didn’t want to hassle with it so I cancelled the order. My mom has one and she loves it, but doing that kind of stuff is her “thing” and not mine. I rather spend the month on food that’s already professionally prepared. There are a few companies that specialize in freeze dried foods in bulk. In the early months of the pandemic their stock was pretty much wiped out across the board, but perhaps they’ve built it up again. Just google “freeze dried food” and they should come up. I’ve ordered freeze dried meals from Legacy and the couple that we’ve eaten have been decent.

Check on Amazon for wipes. I got lucky last week and was able to order 2 canisters. Felt like I won the lottery. Now if I could find liquid hand soap, it would be golden.
I've started to prepare for fall/winter by buying a few extra things each grocery trip. I tell ya, my brain isn't helping though. I seriously can't remember what we needed the first quarantine. What the heck is wrong with me?
I've started shopping for presents, too. Only 2 gifts so far but every little bit will help. Similarly to my food shopping problem, I'm having difficulty thinking ahead to what we would want/need for the holidays or for being stuck in the house all winter.

I have a bit more TP in reserve than I normally would but we had trouble finding it back in the spring and were down to the last roll before we could buy more. So I'm keeping a bit bigger reserve now.
Papertowels - we rarely use but I do have a two-pack in reserve whereas usually I would just buy as the roll in use started getting low.
Kleenex? I would have some in reserve if I could but we're limited to ONE box still and the shelves still aren't reliably stocked.
Wipes - we don't use often but I have a canister and DD brought one home from college
laundry soap/dish soap/trash bags - I'm buying a new one when I open one instead of when it's getting low
hand soap - I have 3-4 individual pumps in reserve and I'm buying a new refill bottle when the other gets about half empty
We have an unexpected stockpile of body wash and shampoo due to a sale and a coupon coinciding right after I refilled our spares
Food wise - my freezer is full - mostly meat, some vegetables/fruit. My pantry is full. Usually around now I would be trying to eat it down so I could defrost the freezer and make space in the freezer/pantry for holiday stuff (plus I don't usually keep the freezer full during hurricane season - I 'fill' it with containers of water)

We have been working on stockpiling since February. I think we could probably go a month easily on what we have. We went school clothes shopping last weekend and I was shocked at how bare shelves are and the stores closing down. We are going to start working on Christmas shopping for my 8 yo dd. I’m not worried about my 17 yo because cash and gift cards would be fine with her. My problem is that I don’t do well keeping them. I bought a gift last week but instead of holding on to it I gave it to her already.
This weekend we are going to inventory and replenish cold and flu supplies. We do this every year because after 10 pm we don’t have any stores open. We have to drive an hour each way to get any medicine. First winter after we moved here dd spiked a fever around midnight and we had nothing. After that we are always stocked.

but to limit all the extra crap that usually finds its way into my cart. Even with shopping online and delivery a few of the I don't need them items found their way into my cart! Of course, that could be because I have only been to Aldi twice since March! Got a bit carried away with a delivered order from Walmart which BTW was flawless. Actually great. They packed likes together, the few cold things ALL together.. It is so fun to KNOW that I have everything I need here! I have a back up of soap and detergent, bleach, and alcohol. It all still fits in my pantry so I’m not to hoarding-levels yet. Boo, I don't have any kind of pantry. It is called a box or two in the bedroom!

I have two kids heading to college in the fall. One in a house and one in a dorm with private bath. I feel the need to send them with lots of toilet paper and am thinking of stopping at Costco everyday this next week since we can only buy one at a time. Ha ha!

I make sure that we have 2 big Costco toilet paper and paper towels that we have set aside. Then I just buy as we need it. I buy Clorox wipes and cleaning supplies as I see them. Costco had wipes, but with senior hours 5 days a week, they are usually sold out by 10:00. So we buy as we see them at Walmart and Target. We have lots of hand sanitizer, but they are off brands. Lots of travel germ-x so I pick up one each time I am at Target.
In the spring, I read Clorox wipes would be stocked by summer. Then I heard by fall. Now I hear next year. I worry that if Trump is re-elected, this will go on much longer so I try to make sure I have stuff on hand.

I forgot to add that I am not stocking up on food. The stores stayed open, so I am not worried about that now. We just don't have the room for extra food storage. I am tired of my dining room being a pantry!

I'm definitely restocking sooner than normal, but not necessarily overstocking. The one thing I do stock up on when I can find it is Method hand soap--especially the refills. I had 4 foam refills in my online cart at Target, but by the time I checked out a few minutes later I was down to only 1. I was sure it was going to get cancelled, but it showed up!
I've grabbed wipes as I've seen them (which is almost never) because I knew they'd be needed for school.

I’ve always kept a pretty good stock of food and cleaning supplies. Partially a left over of growing up pretty poor and wanting to always ensure there is plenty of food in the house and partially a result of living rurally. Hand soap is still pretty hit or miss, especially ones without scents or lotions in them - everyone wears contacts and the scents and lotions hurt when they get on the contacts. Cleaning supplies are also hot or miss and limited to one so I grab what I can when I can. I just restocked flour as it’s still hard to get and I bake a lot. We’ve used up a lot of our meat, so I’m considering another order from a butcher who will deliver order over $100.

A little bit. We go to Costco maybe every 6 weeks since dh is still working from home. He would go weekly when he was in the office since it's near where he worked.
The local store was out of paper towels and disinfecting wipes.
Other than Costco almost all of our shopping is online and pick up. If we really need something dh or ds will get it.
Our rates are climbing and people here hate masks. So home we stay.

My mom was in desperate need of hand soap earlier this summer. She is washing her hands so many times a day while caring for my brother. He was diagnosed with diabetes last winter and was going to the bathroom 20 times a day! Mom uses a urinal for him because there were too many accidents trying to get him into the wheelchair to go to the bathroom.
His blood sugar is well-controlled now, but he still has very frequent urges to urinate, but he doesn’t produce much when he goes. I suspect a prostate issue, although his blood work came back in the normal range. The doctor prescribed medication that helps some, but there is still a lot of hand washing going on!
So while this situation was at it’s worst, Mom ran through her stash of soap and was having a hard time finding replacements. I got lucky and found the big bottles of Members Mark at Sam’s (2-pack, about $7). I was able to get two 2-packs for her, and I’ll probably get another. They have been well-stocked and didn’t even have a limit on them.
She also goes through a lot of disinfecting wipes: I’ve scored two 4-packs of Members Mark recently, so she should be in good shape.
