This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Thank you nylene for starting us off again this month - I'm going to try and be better about popping in and posting. Taking it easy today - my joint pain has been flaring for the past week or so and it's particularly bad today to the point I broke out the crutches to take some weight off my knees (of course the crutches don't do much for my shoulders). Hopefully the flare will pass soon and I can get back to all my usual activities

Oh wow, Linda, joint pain today and a migraine yesterday... Hoping you start to feel better SOON! Take care of yourself. Or let your family take care of you. And I hope when the aches and pains take a break your mojo will move right in where it belongs. kitbop, I hope when we hear from you it will be good news! Worried about you and your family. How is everyone else gearing up for September? If kids are home schooling, have they taken over your craft space, like msliz's dd? If they are enrolled in in-person classrooms, what does that look like? joyfulnana, what is Rudy's school plan? Will he still be spending weekends with Nana? Have heard from just one dgs today. He had been really worried about his new teacher, but he enjoyed her group chat on line today, so he was feeling much more relaxed when he called this morning. This afternoon they are checking out Fit Set Ninja, and meeting his tutor there. And making a stop at Education Station for some school supplies. I am puttering around today. Yesterday I cleaned my scraproom, and I hadn't planned on playing with paper today, but the envelope with the scraps (and some school related papers that tied in with them) from my Story Time page was calling me. I was reading one of the threads on the GS board about a repeat of an Allison Davis SG sketch class, and although I won't join the class group (It's on fb where I don't go), I ordered the sketch book--and a couple of others while I was on the SG site. Ended up using the first sketch I looked at!

Thanks grammadee - I'm hoping I feel better soon too. Mine are both virtual - 8th grade and Univ. Junior. DD13 is set up in the family room near but not in my craft space - she needs to be closer to me for encouragement. DD20 is set up in DH's hobby room - she needs to be able to close a door. Both work better out of their bedrooms - less distractions and it helps to have a space where they know it's school time. Glad that your DGS is feeling better about school today.

We're all well! DS's rash is settling down slowly. It took FIVE days to get his covid results, but they were negative. Apparently. Maybe. the doctor's office says they were negative but they are still UNREPORTED on the official website? AND - he and DH have the same first/last name, and I'm worried that maybe the doctor's office pulled my DH's file and gave him THOSE results. Whatever. He's fine and went back to work today. And nobody else has developed any symptoms so I think we're clear. A weekend of isolating was grump city around here!!! DS is doing online college. He has a space in the basement alongside my scrap space. DD - grade 12 - will be in person 50% and online 50%. She has a desk in her room but I'm planning on supervising more this year. From March onwards, we really let her fly her own plane, but I'm not trusting anymore that she has the drive to do as well as she could. So I think more parental encouragement I am uploading my first sketch example for tomorrow. Then off to the gym, then I hope to get another sketch started. I really hope to have a productive month here!

Happy September all! Dh is back to work after a little vacation. We did get to my favorite beach on Thursday and it was so crazy there we left and went to another spot near the docks. It was peaceful there and we enjoyed it. Also, stop by my blog. I have two NEW posts about my 10th blog anniversary and another about my "Imagine That" layout. I can't believe I have been blogging this long and the Pokey Peas ten years ago where my big cheereleaders to help me get started! nylene , remember? Link HereI joined the team challenges here and I see I am on joyfulnana team. I am new to all this so I hope I do ok. kitbop- Thank GOD you all are ok! Whew! nylene - That dggd is just the cutest gal! Every time I see her, I just melt!!! linda I hope you feel better. Hang in there! janesays - You did it girl!!! I love that you got caught up on your pocket pages. So cool! That is a lot of work having to measure and cut all the pieces so they fit. No wonder you get a little frustrated. But you did it! Congrats! Waving hi to you all!

Congrats on ten years kellyr21! Linda I hope you're moving easier soon. Thanks for setting us up for another month nylene. kitbop I'm so glad DS is okay. grammadee I love that sketch book. I could probably download the sketch variations for you if you'd like since you bought the class already. I am signed up for 30 Days of Lists which I'm doing at school in a traveler's notebook. I won't have students until October 5, so I have a bit of flexibility in my schedule. I learned how to post my classes online using a blog just in case, but I don't know if I can get that all done in a month! Dean has had a week off, but tomorrow he starts working nearly every day for the rest of the month. The overtime pay is nice, but I will miss hanging out with him on the weekends and he will be tired right out. I will try to comment more this month and lurk less.

Whew! So glad your son is feeling better and that your family is back to normal, kitbop . Grumpy weekends shut in with each other is NOT fun! Yay for peaceful beach time, kellyr21 . I am sure you will do just fine as a team member. Just do what you do now, but add up your points from time to time so you are not scrambling at the last minute. Don't ask me how I know this... Love your LO, justjac! Is that "Photobomb" from Paper Phenomenon? I love that line, and you ROCKED it! Love all the circles and how they surround the photo block of your week of "rich reality"! I can see from flipping through the downloaded sketch book that there will be alot of circles and triangles in my scrapbooking future. Looking forward to playing with it, but also to playing along with the SKETCHtember challenges...

kitbop -so glad he's on the mend and no one else has symptoms. Good luck with the online schooling for both DS and DD kellyr21 wow 10 years! that's committment! Welcome to the team challenges! justjac - I'm thinking about tackling an older 30 Days of Lists list - I'm trying to stick to no-spend so don't want to buy a course right now but it looked interesting. I love your layout with all the circles and that awesome quote about reality! I'm feeling a bit better after resting all day - still more joint pain/stiffness than my usual day to day but not so much as to curtail activities too much. Hopefully that means the flare is dying down. Cooking dinner now and then will try and get crafty

Hey Pokeys, I can't believe it's September and I keep double checking my day to post for Sketchtember lol. nylene thanks for setting us up. Rudy is going to be homeschooled this year, and then they are hoping things will be calmer next year and he can start first grade. It's interesting for me, seeing the different options families have. I don't envy parents with kids in school. I usually have him at least one night on the weekends, or two when he can con me into it LOL. kitbop I'm glad your DS got a (maybe?) negative! My boss and one of my coworkers tested positive a few weeks ago, and it felt pretty scary to me knowing someone who contracted it. Linda good to hear you are feeling a bit better. I've already heard about sales, and classes and lots of stuff I'm NOT spending on this month too lol. Happy Anniversary kellyr21 !! So glad you had a peaceful outing! Love it that you joined the challenges this month! Don't worry, no rules, no pressure either. Wow justjac ! I LOVE this LO that blackground and those circles. That's sucky about Dean's job. I got tired of all the overtime and being tired. I feel for him. grammadee I wish I wasn't on FB, but I stay for my crafty groups. I would be happy to be done with it otherwise. I have several of those sketchbooks and I love using them. LisaDV I'm keeping you in my thoughts. I think I'll go piddle with my pretties and then head to bed. Have a great evening!

It's so nice to see you all checking in and being excited about this time of year and the scrapping Fall brings. kitbop, I'm so glad that your DS's test was negative (we think) and that he is getting better. Is he still covered with a rash? Linda, so glad to see you joining the Teams this month. I know I won't keep up with the sketches, but I appreciate your versions of them and then I scraplift YOU! joyfulnana, I wish I had been able to do the Hangouts on Sun. It sounds like we had some new Peas on that day. I think I can do Sat. this weekend. justjac, so nice to see you. I love all the circles on your layout. I'll leave love in the gallery. grammadee, how do you do all you do? I know I have asked that before. You must have more energy than I do! Thanks for setting everything up for the Team Challenges each month. kellyr21, I read you blog and couldn't believe it has been 10 years. Thanks for all the tutorials and blog posts. I love what you are doing. I wanted to tell you all of an experience I have had on 2peasrefugees. About 5 years ago my DGD began having terrible abdominal pains after eating. They took her to family doctor who tried her on every elimination diet without results. One day I was reading here on the NSBR threads (which I seldom read) and came across a post by someone who had MALS which causes abd. pain. I googled it and then told Em about it. She asked the doctor abt it and he just laughed and said it was very rare, etc, etc. She was sent from Dr. to Dr. who brushed her off when she mentioned MALS. Yet the more Em read about MALS the more she thought it might be a cause. They began saving $ to go to Conn. where the only surgeons who did the surgery were located. In the meantime my DGD has had every invasive test possible with no answers. It has been 5 years and in the meantime, a group of surgeons have relocated to SLC who specialize in MALS. She got an appt. and the surgeon wanted to do a surgical test to anesthetize the nerves around the ligament causing the problem. He said if it was MALS she should have 24 hrs. of no pain no matter what she ate. Well, it worked, she was pain free for almost 24 hours. He said she's a textbook case. They did the big surgery where they actually destroy some of the offending nerves yesterday. The Dr. told Em that she most definitely did have MALS and that things went well. Long story short, because I read about MALS here, she should now be pretty much pain free. They have a 90% successful outcome. Without Em's pushing a bit, I doubt if they would have a diagnosis yet. She will be in the hospital a couple more days. There are some great things to be learned on this site, and they are not all scrapbook related.

Loved your story about your dgd, nylene. Hoping she has finally found the solution and she heals quickly. LisaDV, how is your dd doing? Hoping she was feeling well enough to enjoy the pool this summer, and that the move back into her home schooling has gone smoothly. Is your ds graduating this year? They grow up so fast-- when they are someone else's kids LOL!

nylene - I'm so glad that your DD was able to find someone to finally listen. Prayers for a quick recovery. Thanks for the sweet comments on my sketch adaptations. I'm going to try and keep up but...we'll have to see. At least I'm scrapping again. Thankfully my knee is on the mend and while my shoulders are still bothering me, it's mostly the left and I'm right handed which helps. I've done sketch #1 today as well as my August pandemic layout and day 2 of my lists. Working on my July pandemic layout now and then will look at sketch 2 - it's a tricky one

Happy Friday! I had a restful week. Boy, I really needed to take some time off and just play and rest. I have enjoyed experimenting and trying different things for my upcoming videos. I didn't have a tutorial video this week, but I did do a K. Simone Designs News video. I announced three things happening in my craft world. Link Herejustjac- I like your pages! I hope work is going well, too. nylene- WOW! Thank God for that info that helped your dgd. I hope she is recovering well. linda- I hope you are feeling better this weekend. joyfulnana- I am excited to participate and meet some of those ladies I don't know. Waving hello to you all and have a good Saturday!

Does anyone have exciting plans for the weekend? Dean is working, so I am on my own. My LSS is having an anniversary sale, so I’m off to buy adhesive. I have a few things on pre-order that I’m impatiently waiting for but I'm going to restrain myself from buying anything else. grammadee that is Photobomb. Is Paper Phenomenon still in business? Are you seeing family this weekend?

justjac - I saw a new release from Paper Phenomenon this fall - Christmas and Halloween maybe? Hers is the mini book tutorial I follow whenever I make an album from scratch. We don't have plans this weekend. DD is away with friends at a cottage, and without her I don't think we'd make a special trip to the beach or anything. Next week, I have a few days off work - booked them off before covid (we have to put in a whole year's vacation schedule in March. Dumb. So hard to predict when family will be able to book vacation so far in advance) and sure enough now I have days off and our road trip plans are null and void! Plus - DH opted to work next week (might as well) so I'll be entertaining myself. Oh well, I (like you @kellyr, I'm glad you had a nice week of quiet time)! could probably benefit from just relaxing a bit. Linda - I think your take on sketch #2 is brilliant, just brilliant! nylene - I do love what the internet communities have done for our access to information. Ideas about crafting, cooking, gardening, home decor...and often health! Without the internet, it's unlikely your DGD would ever have heard of this condition so how could she advocate for testing? If used with caution, it can be an amazing way to expand our knowledge base. I think it takes our complete reliance on "experts" away, and lets us challenge in a positive way. Hope some of you will be scrapping in the hangout today?

kellyr21 - glad you got to relax - it is SO needed sometimes justjac - enjoy the LSS visit - I wish we had one here - I think the nearest is about 4 hours away kitbop - that isn't an awesome way of booking time off. Enjoy your quiet time though Just finished our weekly houseclean - it goes so much easier with both girls helping. Next up is groceries and then hopefully I'll get some scrapping time in. I'm tired and sore so I'm not sure how much energy I'll have though

Linda, I am glad you are feeling a little better. I can empathize with you today. I had a bad fall yesterday. I tripped over a cord (not paying attention) and tumbled. Today I hurt in muscles and joints I didn't know I had. I did protect my wrists as I fell since I have broken both within the past 5 years. Hang in there. Does weather affect your joints? kitbop and justjac, I wish you could go really enjoy the holiday. We can't think of anywhere to go so we are staying home too. We made our weekly run to Home Depot and to the Grocery store. The rest of the day is unplanned. I hope to get on the Hangouts tonight. kellyr21, glad to know that you have just taken some time off. I was hoping you weren't sick. I haven't checked out your link, but will when I finish this post. joyfulnana, I look forward to seeing you tonight. That is such a great break in the day, to see and chat with friends. Thank you for hosting it. LisaDV, I have thought of your DD so much lately with the surgery of DGD. I hope the heat at the end of the summer has not been hard on her. I hope things are looking up for your family right now. I am loving all the cakes you have posted so far in the b-day thread. Hugs. grammadee, I have done 7 pages since Sept 1. Only 4 fit the sketches, but it has felt good to get so many photos into books. I haven't scanned them yet, but I have added the points. I can't leave that til the end again, or it's Easy Peasy for sure.

Thank you nylene - please be careful - I'm glad you didn't do any serious damage falling but ouch! Take it easy and let those muscles and joints heal. I do find the weather can sometimes make my joints worse - esp. rainy weather or a storm brewing. I have severe osteoarthritis in one knee from multiple injuries/surgeries and I joke it predicts the weather. The other joints are affected by my autoimmune disease (scleroderma) and it just tends to flare up and then ease off. Got the groceries and recycling done. Aldi's was busier than usual but at least people were mostly masked and distancing. Publix was super crowded, less masks, and they've done away with one-way aisles. Hoping to get some scrapping done soon

Look at YOU go, scrapping 7 pages, nylene ! But ouch!!! Maybe you need to slow down. Yes, justjac , we have family here. Dd and dgs have been here since Wednesday supper, and yesterday ds & ddil called to confirm they were indeed on their way from Calgary with 2 boys, 2 horses, and a dog! They had said early in July, they “might” come, but when I hadn’t heard from them, and I knew their ds was back from BC this week, I assumed they weren’t planning to come. Dd and I ran around and got rooms ready. Dh hauled some fencing panels to the yard. They arrived at 9:30 pm and by 11 boys and horses were settled for the night. Needless to say, today has been pretty hectic. We planned a wiener roast for supper, so hoping the storm clouds move on. It is thundering and pouring right now. Glad to hear about Paper Phenomenon, kitbop . I have only the one collection—Photobomb—but i like the quality and colours of their papers.

Looks like everyone had a pretty relaxing weekend. Well except maybe for you grammadee - the running around to get rooms ready doesn't sound relaxing but how awesome to have your family there! nylene and Linda you both take care of yourselves! I'm glad your tumble wasn't too serious nylene and I hope you are feeling better Linda . It was nice surprise when you popped in Saturday nylene . I do love these crops, and seeing who will be in. kellyr21 I'm looking forward to your reveal in your next video. I'm so curious lol! We've gone from stifling heat yesterday to very cool 60's and needing a jacket. It's going to be cool and rainy all week and I'm looking forward to it. I definitely prefer cooler weather. The We Create virtual crop is this weekend and I have no pages planned. I had taken Thursday and Friday off for the in person event that was cancelled. Then noticed it was the weekend after Labor Day so I took the rest of the week too lol. So I definitely have the time to plan for this. And I intend to scrap as if I were there so three days of cropping. They are going to use Facebook rooms, so we will have some in person crop time like we do here on the weekends. And my mom and niece and I will be doing a hangout session together Saturday. No Rudy sleep overs. I'm pretending to be gone all weekend LOL! Instead, I'm going to take him tomorrow and spend the day with him. No idea what we will do yet, except we are baking cookies lol. We haven't done that in awhile. The parks are open but still off limits for him, which really just sucks. But I'm sure we'll find something lol.

How are you feeling after your fall, nylene? Looks like you are keeping up with the sketches. Glad you could get together with the Peas on the Hangout last weekend. I am hoping to set up a Sunday Hangout session in the morning while joyfulnana is off having fun cropping with her family and the We Create gang. So glad you finally have some time off work to play, joyfulnana! Can't wait to see all your pages! Will you be using the SKETCHtember challenges over the weekend for your pages? Or does the event have its own challenges? We had a busy weekend. Dh got to spend some quality time with our oldest ds whom he doesn't see very often. The three little guys had a great time, and ran for miles in the yard, playing cops and robbers and some sort of treasure hide & seek game. We had a wiener roast with dh's sister's family, and baked zucchini muffins. Family left yesterday: the Calgary bunch in the morning and then dd & dgs in the afternoon after we cleared off more of the garden. A MOOSE had done some harvesting of the corn, and much of it wasn't ready yet, but we harvested those cobs that were close. Over the weekend, we picked the last of the beans and peas, pulled the vines and removed the support panels. We also cut out all the zucchini and the pumpkins we think are developed enough to ripen in the basement. It didn't freeze last night, but it came close. And now dh has much of the garden cleared to work in some mulch and fertilizer. I thought I would scrap today, but couldn't quite get back into it. Haven't got my house back to normal after the invasion, either, but have started laundering bedding and towels. Dh plans to go to town for coffee in the morning, so I am hoping to settle in and SCRAP! Wish me luck!

joyfulnana - yay for cooler weather It's cooled down a bit here as well - highs in the 80s not 90s grammadee - glad you had a good weekend with family. WOW a moose in your corn patch? pretty cool (if not so good for the corn) kellyr21 - hope your eye feels better with some rest and yes, get new glasses yesterday was a rough day with virtual schooling - DD13 worked from 830=6 and got a zero on an assignement - she doesn't know why, there was no feedback, and she thought she had done it right. Hopefully today goes smoother. Good news is that her desk is in my scrapbook area so I'm getting plenty of scrappy time in between school crisis

Oh kellyr21, I'm so sorry you are having eye issues! Eyes are so important and scary... especially in our hobby nylene - thinking of you after your fall - still sore? What is it about that WRENCHING of a fall that makes us sore for days? My Mom and I have had some doozies. I've never seen my DH fall. Humph. He's so athletic and even when he slips on ice (or sand on the tennis court) he just skates along and regains his balance like it's no big deal. I slip, I panic, I tense, I fall. Sigh...Winter is coming. I've been super productive this first week and hope to get 2 sketches done today. Got up early (for my day off), chugged some caffeinated pre-gym drink, and got the gym out of the way. UGH. So much harder in the morning. It was like punishment (getting up early) to go to another punishment!!! I have never been good in the morning except for drinking coffee But when I got home ready to scrap I realized that DS is in school in the basement via zoom, and his class won't finish until noon. I'm sure I could sneak into my scrap space, but he likes his privacy when in class. linda, virtual schooling is so much more stressful and I'm sorry your DD had a rough day - there must be SOME mistake - sounds like the teacher isn't communicating effectively to me. My DD got her gr. 12 school schedule (finally). She is very happy with her teachers. 8 courses total. But get this nightmare: They only do 2 courses every 8 weeks, then the exams. And they don't have both courses every day. They do 1 week of in-school chemistry (4 hours), then 1 week of virtual chemistry. Then 1 week of in-school calculus followed by 1 week of virtual calculus. Repeat cycle. Exams. And those 2 classes are over. I don't know. I just can't. grammadee - I've never seen a moose! I've driven across Canada. Edmonton. Northern Lake Superior. East Coast. Cape Breton. Moose warning signs EVERYWHERE. The signs flash in Quebec. No moose. I've also only seen one hummingbird in my life and that's another sadness. They seem to avoid me! Now bears I've seen plenty! Our market is full of fresh corn. It's not worth me planting because it is space consuming and is cheaper to buy in this way. Do you freeze it? My tomato harvest is not good - the green tomatoes are not ripening well. I can give the carrots another month before we have to worry about frost. joyfulnana, enjoy your day with Rudy. Baking is hard with kids. Although mine excelled at dough eating Still do!

Hello, Pokeys. (although none of you are very pokey!) kellyr21 , I hope you can take it easy on the screens and get your eye feeling better. I see every day how much his loss of sight affects DH in his life. kitbop is right, eyes are very important. Take a rest and come back when you are better. Hugs. grammadee , I don't know how you keep up with the the sketches and the family and the garden. You are a busy lady! I am not accomplishing much around the house, but I have been scrapping lots. I have more to post today. I have decided to start with the sketches, but let the layout go the way it wants and not be upset about it. I am having a hard time keeping up with comments. I may be a failure at that this month. Sorry about the moose harvesting your crop! kitbop , I am feeling less wrenched every day. I have a huge bruise on one knee and the other (my bad one) is swollen and sore. I just need to be more careful. It seems I'm always in a hurry so I'm trying to slow down. Your DD's schedule sounds like some of my grands' online schedules. I don't know how they get enough instruction to call the class completed. I'm glad I am not an online learner or teacher right now. I have never seen a bear. I have seen moose in the mountains a few minutes from us, but never a bear. joyfulnana , your We Create sounds like a lot of fun and instruction. I hope you get a lot done and that the time off from work rejuvenates you. Have fun making cookies with Rudy. You are such a nice grandma. No wonder he wants to spend every weekend with you! Our temperatures here are crazy too. We were at 98 degrees on Monday and it didn't get above 59 degrees yesterday. It's 48 degrees right now and I'm freezing in the house. We had hurricane force winds come through last night and the night before. There is lots of damage north of us, but not much around here. 2020 has been crazy, we have had pandemic, floods, an earthquake, and fires and now hurricane force winds. There were 48 semi trucks blown over on the freeway yesterday. I'm ready for 2020 to end! Linda , you are really on a scrapping roll this month. How are you feeling?Hopefully a little better each day. I hope your DD can find out why she was not given credit. Online learning leaves some holes in communication for sure. I'm glad you are near her so see if she's getting frustrated and needs help. I'm still working on Cousin Camp pages, but trying to use other photos that fit the sketches a little better. Off to get something done.
