Awww Linda how awesome a brother is he?! I hope the mic makes the video chat work better. I know how much you missed him when he was in Japan, and now he is stateside and you still can't see him because of COVID. I was thinking today how I'm not planning to make the usual trips to see family this Christmas, it's just not worth the risk. I've decided to settle in and wait this out.

Good Sunday evening, Pokeys! I am feeling much better. Saturday was the first day in a week I had an appetite, and I was almost afraid to put anything in my mouth in case I jinxed it. But I DID eat yesterday and today and (touch wood) am--so far--pain free. The garden is completely cleared off! We had 3 adults, one kid, and four dogs on the job! Dd & dgs left mid afternoon today and I crashed. Had a nap, then leftovers for supper, and some mindless TV. Before the weekend I was pretty much caught up with the sketches, but am a few behind, now. Hoping to get back to scrapping tomorrow. If I don't get cracking, I won't get them all done, which would be a shame if I am this close... Dh has appointments in the city on Wednesday, so we are planning to leave here on Tuesday and stay in a hotel close to the clinic. So sweet of your ds to send the mic, Linda. And wonderful that you stay so closely in touch with him. Dd & dgs get to talk with Daddy almost every day through WhatsAp, so although having him deployed so far away is hard, it keeps them in touch and in tune with each other. Glad you had a productive Hangout today, joyfulnana. I need to look at your pages more closely and leave some love. Behind in THAT, too! gramma, you will be seeing a tractor driving gnome on a page in the near future, I promise you. And some baking diecuts. We harvested carrots and potatoes and onions, and baked carrot cake and muffins. Just need to print some photos... nylene I hope you had a safe and refreshing weekend away. We hope to visit with my late brother's wife on Tuesday on our way to the city. Hoping everyone signs up for an October team. You can scrap pages as usual, or switch to card making with CARDtober. I took some time before the weekend to get my samples completed, but need to get back to these sketches...

You can wear an heirloom ring, special t-shirt, a dress or whatever feels good to ya. In the past weeks, I wore a favorite dress but tomorrow I might do something different. joyfulnana - it's easier having him stateside - phone calls when he was in Japan were rare due to cost and time differences. Covid is changing many people's holiday plans I think. But better to stay safe and be here to celebrate another time. Well done on the garden grammadee and I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. That's awesome that your DD and DGS are able to stay in close touch with SIL - deployments are hard on families. Looking forward to seeing that gnome on a tractor... kellyr21 - I'll see what I can do Sketches are caught up through tomorrow's and I just need a title for my lists album - there's not quite 30 lists but the album is full and I've done all the prompts that fit my life so...calling it complete once the title is done.

Hello Pokeys! We got home last night and were glad to be back in our own bed. We had a very relaxing time except for all the driving. We were able to catch up to my brother and spend an evening with him on his back porch watching the river. His wife returned from visiting the kids the next day so we had dinner together at their home Sat. night. It was nice to have lots of time to visit. We had planned to maybe drive up on the mountain where we were fire lookouts the first year of our marriage. We actually started up and it began to get cold and rainy. Suddenly it dawned on me that we were snowed in up there the 2nd wk of Aug, and here we are, end of Sept. We laughed and turned around. One time trapped up there was enough! We drove all around town and noticed what has and hasn't changed in the last 50+ years. It was a nice trip. grammadee, I am glad you are feeling better and glad you got the harvest in. That's always a nice feeling and you deserved the nap. I have given up on the sketches. I made it through 18 and that is good enough this month. Dh and I have both had some health issues in the last 2 weeks and that needs to take precedence for the moment. kellyr21, congrats on your videos. I am enjoying them and love all your positivity. I will get to the gallery and see your latest projects. Linda, I am glad you are able to chat with your DS. I'm sure he is really missing the family. That is one of the hardest parts of this pandemic. How kind he is to get his sister a mic. That will make things much easier. I would love to have you join in on one of the Hangouts. I'd love to really "meet" you. It's pretty much like what you are doing with DS. joyfulnana, I am sorry you can't go see your family for Christmas. It seems crazy that I have 3 sisters 50 minutes away and haven't seen them since March. Our family won't have Thanksgiving or Christmas groups either. I know we will look back on this someday and wonder what we were supposed to learn from this Pandemic. Maybe the importance of family is part of it. I look forward to Saturday Hangout. Is work slowing down any with the weather changing? The roads between here and Idaho were filled with RV's. Maybe they were all heading home for the winter. I am waving to all the Pokeys and plan to come back later to see all the projects made last week. Have a wonderful week, everyone. I will start a new thread on Thursday.

welcome home nylene - glad you had a good time (and glad that you turned around and didn't get stuck!) Hope the health issues are resolved I'll try with the hangouts - I usually use a desktop (DD is teh one who sets up the video chats with DS - maybe she can help me figure it out) - Saturdays are busy though with housework and grocery shopping. Home school is going well. She sure doesn't like getting answers wrong though and having to correct them "in school if you get the wrong, then you just take the low grade"...well at home, we're going to go over it and make sure you understand so you can correct it. So to that end, I'm making a worksheet for tomorrow because she struggled with a page in the English book today and needs more practise. Hopefully I'll get scrappy time tonight. Hi to all the Pokeys!

LOL, Linda, I love your work ethic in Home Schooling. You are my kind of teacher! You are making a real sacrifice and I'm sure she appreciates it! Several of the Peas use a desktop. I don't have a camera for mine, so I use an ipad. I do all my grocery shopping and house cleaning on Sat. too, but lately I have rewarded myself with some Hangouts with the Peas. Every other week there is a Sunday session. It comes right in the middle of our online Church Service so that doesn't work for me. If you can work out one or the other, we'd love to really meet you.
