Not caught up with the sketches, nylene. Got back into scrapping today and turned out a couple of LO's. So now I have sketches 1-5 done. I am going to try to do some scrappy magic and somehow pull a couple of sketches together to create one two page LO tomorrow, but I will still be playing catch up. I have a bunch of photos on my phone and camera from the weekend, and back to school photos that were shared with me, that I would love to be playing with, but will continue to work with the unscrapped photos on my scrap counter. kitbop, if you pick your green tomatoes and store them somewhere cool and dark, they will ripen nicely indoors. If we had to wait for them to ripen on the vine around here, we would have very few ripe ones. Don't refrigerate them though until they are ripe b/c that will stop the process. Pumpkins will ripen in the basement, too. I will start harvesting carrots soon, one batch at a time. They can take quite a bit of cool weather, and some people say they taste better if you let them stay out there until after a "hard frost". First I need to grind up more of the zucchini that has taken over my fridge. I shredded a bunch with the food processor over the weekend, made a cake and two batches of muffins, and froze a few bags for baking later. Sent some with the kids. But I still have to tackle the rest of them, and deal with the corn, before I have room for carrots. I hope you can pick up your glasses and that plus some rest will be all that your eyes need, kellyr21. Is there alot of smoke in your area? Could that be bothering your eyes? And I hope your aches and pains have eased, Linda. And that your girls' schooling has no more glitches. That sounds like a break neck speed for learning, kitbop. One of my dgs's is enrolled in grade twelve on line. I have not heard how he is doing. Have also NOT received a photo of him at his computer which I asked for yesterday. Will have to reach out again and find out how it is going. Haven't heard from the moose again, but she managed to cause a bit of fun while she was here overnight on Sunday. Ds from Calgary, had his horses in a make shift pen in the yard, and they must have been startled by her, b/c they broke out. Fortunately, they didn't know the area, so hung around in the hay field between here and the road. After we picked the corn that was ready yesterday, dh built a big fence around what was still ripening to keep the moose out, but now I can't get in either to check which cobs are ripe. I need to get him to pull out one panel tomorrow. I haven't seen a male moose on this property before, so I am assuming this was a female: they have no horns, so are not as impressive to look at as the males. Okay. time to stop rambling and head off to bed.

kellyr21 I hope your eye feels better soon! And you are able to pick up your glasses. I had every intention of getting new glasses this year, and well, 2020 lol. Linda that can't be right! All those hours for a zero? I'm glad you are nearby, and can help out. I can't imagine being a parent right now. That's got to be so frustrating! My niece had decided to homeschool her 9 yo - he has autism. She said they would spend 8 hours on "school time" but was only able to count it as 2 or 3 hours if she was lucky. You are rocking those sketches! How is your DS doing? nylene I hope you heal fast and start feeling better. When you said semi's were blown over on the freeway I had to go google, and OMG! that is crazy!! I hope no one was hurt! And no pressure to use any or all of the sketches, or to have your page look anything like them. I never get anywhere close to all of them done since I'm so slow. I'm lucky to get my own samples done lol. I am loving your Cousin Camp pages and I'm still so happy that you found a way to make it happen this year anyway. Take that Rona! lol kitbop falling in the winter terrifies me! I'm not sure why, well except now I'm older and worry about broken bones but it has always scared me to be walking around on icy walkways or parking lots. I'm also really good at drinking coffee in the morning, and not so good at anything else lol. Although if I will just get in some kind of exercise it definitely energizes me, it's just making myself do the moving to start with lol. Wow your DD school schedule! I know schools are doing the best they can, but it sure is hard on everyone. grammadee I'm sorry a moose got your corn! Are you exhausted once all the kids leave? I'm always exhausted after visitors have left, young or old ones lol. I don't know how you do it all. And keep up with all the sketches, and everything else you do for this board. I can't wait to see what you do with that hockey paper though! Yesterday ended up with brownies, and no helper until it was time to lick beaters and eat brownies lol. A lunch run to Mcdonald's (bad nana! lol) where he got no toy but a cheeseburger instead lol. Then just a lot of hanging out playing games and just being together. Then chili and the Amazon prime show The Boys with Cody afterward. The only sunny day we've had this week is Monday and I'm kicking myself for not taking pics of my sample layouts. I thought Oh, I have all week - the lighting is going to be horrible on them. I still have one more sample to go. nylene I ended up with 3 8.5x11 sketches of my 4 samples. Virtual We Create starts tomorrow and I'm going to be planning pages for it today. I'm getting a little excited about it lol. grammadee I will be using Sketchtember sketches for the pages I'm planning today, then we get a free SG sketch each day of the crop as well. There will be challenges, and games and a private shopping page just for attendees. So look out wallet! I'll be blowing my no spend September this weekend lol! My niece that I scrap with had decided she was going to go digi after We Create. I'm hoping this crop keeps her on the dark side

joyfulnana - funny - I didn't have any help with Brownies yesterday either until it came time to eat them. Have fun with We Create! grammadee - your garden must be huge - you harvest so much despite your short growing season. I'm with everyone else - I don't know how you manage to do all things. nylene - I've been loving your Cousin Camp pages - looks like SO much fun! I'm glad you're on the mend after your fall - that sounds painful still. kitbop - your DD's schedule sounds...different and difficult. I hope it goes more smoothly than it sounds Virtual schooling went a bit smoother yesterday. Today I already have a headache - DD is reading about Christopher Columbus and has opinions (which is good) but feels the need to share the articles and her opinions loudly. I keep reminding her that her sister is ALSO doing school and isn't studying Columbus.

joyfulnana, after struggling with the sketches I have decided if they fit the photos I'll try to follow them. If not, I need to get the photos scrapped, so I will take inspiration from them and move on. I'm glad you have chosen some 8.5x11 sketches. That makes it easier for me. I am down to a bunch of 4x6 photos that can't be cropped much, so there will have to be some 1 photo pages. I'm glad you enjoyed Rudy and I'll bet he enjoyed the McDonalds and brownies. I'm sure you will love your We Create. Keep us informed on what you learn. Linda, I am enjoying your MANY pages. You are really making progress! Congrats! I hope your DD got her assignment figured out. Had to laugh at your description of her studying Columbus. Glad you are there close to her. grammadee, I'm glad you got most of your garden harvested and ready to put to bed for the winter. It feels like winter here. It didn't get up to 60 degrees yesterday and it's about the same today. People are cleaning up huge trees that blew over on their houses and cars. A friend had the neighbor's trampoline blown right into her kitchen, smashing her table and chairs. Did you get all the big winds too? kellyr21, I hope you can get your glasses soon. I broke mine a week ago and have been using a pair from before my cataract surgeries. They aren't bad, but I need to make a trip to the Optician to get mine fixed. I think it's about time for a new pair. I hope your eye is doing better. Hang in there. How is the smoke in your area? Have a great day, everyone. I hope you all have some time for scrapping today.

Thanks nylene - I've finished DD20's College album volume 2 (her sophomore year) and am scanning it and getting it into an album today. It doesn't look like we'll have volumes 3 and 4 as she's home this year online and probably will be next year as well. I think you're smart to let the sketches inspire you but not force the photos to work with them - Sketchtember is supposed to be fun, not frustrating. Glad you enjoyed DD13 studying Columbus - this afternoon I got to help DD20 learn the pronunciation of 10 lines of Middle English - she's taking a Chaucer class. Never a dull moment here

Just popping in to say hello! It's weird but I feel fine but just some fatigue in my eye. It is better but still taking it easy with computer devices. My sweet dh helped me read through and type up somethings online. He gets a gold star today.
Hugs to you all!
We are ok but the fires are far but around us. Ashes all over. The crazy heat finally colded, too. Whew, what a year!

Happy Saturday! Hey Peas, my eye is feeling better. I am also glad I will get my new glasses this week. Whew! LOL! We are hanging in there with these fires and the smoke here has been a little intense. Yesterday, I went out in the afternoon and I could almost see the smoke. There is ash all around and the sky is overcast, too. We are no where near the fires but I guess the wind is blowing it our way. I gotta read and catch up on you all. While I has taking an eye break, I did get some projects done. So much to share here. I have two new video this weekend. First is the big reveal of my art "Story Time With..." You will meet Elle Monae and hear her story. Link HereNext, is a Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays test and tutorial video. Link Here I just love these sprays and shared how I used them. Here is the layout I made for this video and pts for my Pokey Peas challenge. Kind Just Because LO by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

Hi, kellyr21, it's nice to see you. Your new project is very pretty. I love that photo of the two of you. I will check out your videos tonight. Glad your eye is doing better and that you will soon get your glasses. Take it easy. Angie's air has been so bad she has had to stop up a gap under her door (remodeling in progress) to keep the smoke out of the house. I'm sorry that so much of the West is on fire right now. Take care of yourselves. You reminded me that I haven't posted my 4 projects here for the Pokey Peas points. So here they are. I finally got all the photos ordered today, so should be able to finish the album this month. InventorKylie's CreativityImagination Genius Area

I took a break from crafting today. At least from putting together pages. Put away the goodies I picked up yesterday. Played with some new alcohol inks, but although I like the colours, I think I prefer Rangers'. Printed the last couple of sketches. Put together some page kits for tomorrow, to play with during the Hangout in the morning. Meanwhile I did some baking with the zucchini I had shredded Thursday, and boiled up the berry juice I had extracted the other day with sugar and pectin to make a small batch of jelly. The jelly gods must be with me. I had turned away from the not yet boiling pot for a couple of minutes to finish getting the jars ready, and when I looked it was bubbled all the way to the top of the pot. Fortunately it had not gone over, and I was able to carefully slide it to the side without spilling any on the burner. Whew! I love the sound I am hearing now of the jar lids popping as they seal. I am loving your Cousin Camp pages, nylene. You really DO have genius grandkids! Can't wait to see the rest once you get your photos. I watched your story video, kellyr21, and it brought a tear to my eye. You were brave to name your painting for the daughter you never had, and braver yet to talk about it. Glad your eyes are recovering, even with the terrible air quality. Just hoping that everyone stays healthy and safe.

lovely layout kellyr21 -and a gorgeous photo! Glad that your eye is feeling better nylene - love those layouts. Your grandchildren obviously inherited their creativity from you. Last night was game night - we played Scrabble and munched on some of the snacks from our Egypt Yums box - DH's boss bought us a year-long subscription last Christmas and it's been so fun. Today was housecleaning in the morning and groceries in the afternoon. I managed to get some scrappy time in - caught up on my lists layouts and started a batch of cards before dinner. D13 cooked - she made steak, onion rings (from a bag), and sliced up some cucumbers. DD20 was grateful I picked up a chopped salad bag - she doesn't like onions OR cucumbers. Back to my cards now. I should be able to scrap tomorrow - No Mass this week - our priests are both in isolation wth Covid19 - but D13 has Sunday school via zoom. Our Goodwill is finally accepting donations so we'll take a carload over - we probably have 3 loads worth of stuff waiting to go - 22+ boxes

grammadee - we must have been posting at the same time. What did you make with your zucchini? The jelly sounds good - glad it didn't get all over the burner/stove - that would have been a sticky mess I use a chocolate zucchini cake recipe, but then add way more zucchini than called for. That stretches it out, so that once my cakes (two 8x8's) are in the oven, I add oatmeal to the remaining cake batter and bake muffins.
Tell me about the mess! I had flashbacks to one of the first times I made jelly and the pot boiled over. I had the old ring burners with openings under them to the top of the oven. I had jelly EVERYWHERE: down the front of the stove, both sides of the oven door, in the drawer underneath... My stove now is a smooth glass top, but it still could have been a big job cleaning up if the jelly had boiled over.
Sounds like you had a busy day. Glad your dd cooked supper and that her sister had some alternatives to eat. Are the priests in isolation b/c they tested positive for Covid? Or have been in contact with someone who did? Were you attending Mass in person, or were you joining in online? I hope all of you are safe.

grammadee - chocolate zucchini cake sounds delicious - would you mind sharing your recipe? Oh goodness - that must have been a nightmare to clean up - that's the type of stove I have and I can just imagine. Both priests are sick and tested positive. I had been attending online - I'll probably find another parish to watch online tomorrow.

well....DD13 came to me and laid out all the reasons that she would rather have me homeschool her instead of doing virtual school. She made a good argument and she's the only one of mine that I haven't homeschooled at some point (I just did preschool with her). So DH and I talked and I think we might be switching. I need to call an make sure that she can still get high school credit for algebra 1 and be able to take the EOC (mandatory state algebra 1 test required for graduation) and make sure they'll accept her transcript when she goes back to school in 9th grade (she's 8th). But if all that works out, then we'll probably be switching. I haven't homeschooled since she started K.

I decided that rather than add an attachment to the board, I would photograph my zucchini cake/muffin recipe and add it with Tapatalk to the Recipe board. So HERE it is, Linda . Sorry your dd is struggling with on line schooling, but I think it is sweet that she wants YOU to take over. Hope you can get all the glitches ironed out and that you both have a really positive academic year. kellyr21 , I hope to get to the Gallery later to leave some love.

Got my scrap in gear today with the Hangout session this morning. Managed to turn some of my page kits into pages. Have 5 pages completed and another two laid out on my scrap counter to be assembled in the morning. Got my sample done for Tuesday's sketch, and managed to take on a few others. It was good to chat with justjac and kitbop and gramma and msliz and a couple of other peas. Hoping I will be able to join again when joyfulnana hosts next Saturday. Tuesday I drive to the city for the surgical consult that was postponed April 1st. Not sure if the result will be any different. Her position the last time was that unless it became an emergency, she did not recommend surgery. My position is that I would prefer it NOT to become "an emergency". I would rather the procedure be done before an emergency occurs. But now, with hospitals so stressed, I am not sure it is a good idea to go ahead very soon, either. By being really careful with my diet, I have avoided an attack for 12 months now. May end up just being a drive to the city and a trip to Costco...

grammadee - Trips to Costco are fun!!! Well, for me. DH hates them. He feels like the crowds are too big, especially the way they have us lining up now. He didn't mind so much when there were individual lines for the cashiers. Perception. I hope the surgeon can set your mind at ease one way or the other. linda - what a huge decision! I can't imagine trying to keep up with a highschool homeschooler. Glad she was able to communicate her concerns and wishes so well to you - that's big. kellyr21 - are your eyes feeling better? Your amazing layouts and cards the past few days say "yes" ?? I enjoyed the hangout session yesterday so much, and have posted the layout I got done this morning. I still have to create my sketch sample for Wednesday (but have started). My neck has "flared up" - it happens when I spend too much time on the tablet/computer/crafting. And that's exactly what happened in my few days off - DH was working, I felt like relaxing, and boom, bad neck. Annoyance. Back to work today - 7 in a row now - won't be joining the hangout next weekend unless it's evening Have a lovely day everyone!

grammadee - wow- you got a ton accomplished -well done! Good luck with the trip to the city and I hope the consult goes smoothly. Costco sounds fun -we don't have one and I've never been. kitbop - 7 days in a row is a long work week. Hope it goes smoothly and quickly and your neck feels better. Thanks - she's currently 8th grade - not sure I want to tackle high school (the plan is to just homeschool this year if we do but we'll see what covid does). The curriculum I would use is the one I've used before -it's accredited which is nice and has excellent lesson plans that are still flexible. It'll still be a LOT of work.

Good morning Pokeys! I am sitting in my vehicle in the clinic parking lot. Dr is running late (of course), so I am waiting for their phone call to let me know to walk in to the office. Seems like when I am away from the scrap room, creative ideas fill my head, but they are often like those dreams you can’t quite remember on waking LOL. Now I am stopped I want to capture at least some of them, and since I have no paper, I will list them here. Lucky you ... For the missing sketches: #10 I want to do a before & after with a big photo of dgs discovering all the potatoes under one of the plants in “his” row, followed by lots of photos of the garden work before. Title something like Before the Harvest... #13. Not sure what I will scrap with it but want to remember to use my slim line card die for the photo strip. #14. I want to scrap pics of two little guys all masked up for the school bus. I need to read over kitbop’s school bus recipe to make sure I include all the ingredients. That will also be my title page for my Fal album, so I want to use “It’s that TIME again” as a title, and use a clock for one of the circles. I have other photos crying to be scrapped, but I think I will wait to see the next half of the sketches coming down the pike. Have a good day, Pokeys! TTYL.

kellyr21 , your Art Story idea is wonderful. I loved the story behind that beautiful photo. Em was here yesterday and she watched it and got weepy. I'm really impressed with your courage and your artistic ability. I hope the smoke clears out soon. It's bad here too. It has drifted from Oregon and we have lots of fires around us here in the state. grammadee , you have really been on a roll with your scrapping. I tackled your page today. It's pretty weird though. I cut out silhouettes representing all the talents shared at Cousin Camp and couldn't figure out how to arrange them. I don't have photos because they were all virtual. When I checked the challenge for today I realized that that design might work. I never have enough small photos to follow a sketch like that, but I positioned my die cuts in those spaces and it turned out ok. How was the appt with the Dr? I would hope that he'd prefer a non-emergency too! BTW, thanks for the Zucchini recipe. kitbop , 7 days in a row sounds like hard work. What you do is hard work in my book. I'm sorry I missed the Sunday Hangout. It just comes at the wrong time for our Church service. I will plan to be on next Saturday. My DH kind of expects it every Sat. now. He seemed disappointed when I told him it would just be every other Sat. He knows I love seeing all you great Peas. Linda , how nice that you feel confident enough to take over DD's home schooling until things get back to better Covid control. I think I could teach through Jr High, but High School would make me do a lot of studying. You must feel good that she trusts you to explain and work with her in a way she understands and learns. I'm sorry the online wasn't working for her but this may be a great year for both of you. joyfulnana , how are things going for you. Thanks for the sketches you have posted. I can't keep up every day, but hope to not get too far behind. I'd love to hear how We Create went and what you learned. Is work slowing down any? LisaDV , I hope things are looking up for you. You and your family are in my prayers. patin , sending hugs and prayers for you too. I'm waving to all of our QUIET Pokeys. Drop in when you get a minute and let us know how you are doing in this Time of Covid.

Hey everyone! It looks like I have a lot to catch up on! We Create was pretty fun considering it was virtual. There were new sketches each day, and a stitching tutorial, product demos were all for nuvo products, the one I was most interested in was the glacier paste. There is some on it's way to me along with a couple more bottles of drops. Challenges and games. Oddly the FB rooms didn't go over so well, I did open one Sunday but it kicked me out after a period of time because no one had joined. I missed my pea hangout! But I cropped for 8 hours straight with my niece Saturday and that was a blast! I got 5 pages done over the entire weekend, 4 of them on Saturday. That's going to more than double my normal month of scrapping lol. There was a private shop page for attendees and we had first pick at new collections and brands that hadn't been added to the regular website yet. After that long weekend of scrapping, it was back to work on Monday. Linda that really is huge that your DD was able to come to you with her concerns and reasons that virtual school isn't working for her, and so sweet that she would rather you do the schooling. I hope it all works out and goes smoothly and she will be able to transition. I had to chuckle at her expressing her opinion so loudly about Columbus lol. I hope the priests will have mild cases of COVID and recover quickly. kellyr21 glad you are feeling better and I would guess your eye is better as well looking at your lovely LOs. I'm glad you are far from the fires. It's heartbreaking seeing the devastation left behind. I love your video about Elle Monae. Such a beautiful painting and inspiring message! grammadee I will never understand why a Dr would want to wait until something becomes an emergency. I'm with you, I would want to head off the emergency. But that's awesome you have avoided another attack for 12 months!! What were you able to find out? You have been a scrapping machine! kitbop 7 days in a row. Yuck! That's rough! I hope you have several off after that. I still have one more sample to get done. I hope to get it done this weekend. Best laid plans and all though lol. nylene I hope you are feeling better everyday from your fall. That's crazy that the wind was so high it blew a trampoline into a house! This weather is just off the charts this year. I love love love your cousin camp pages! I'm so glad you got some photos so that you could scrap this year. My job has slowed down quite a bit the last couple weeks. I'm not sure if it's because school has started, or because of the fires in the west. I have noticed there haven't been nearly as many calls from that area I'm sure it's some of both. It's nice to have a breather and a bit of normalcy somewhere in life lol. Is it just me or are we in some weird time warp this year? The year has drug on and and on and on, but the days go by in a blink. I need to get a few things done before bed, but hope to catch up in the gallery and check out the sharing thread tomorrow. Have a good night!

I am home safe. Will try to catch up on comments on the board tomorrow. Quickly glanced at what you did with the #15 sketch, nylene, and I think it is a PERFECT way to use it! Will leave love in the Gallery. And Linda, I see you have been busy today. Will try to chase down yours, and all the other new creations in all the different challenge threads, but not until tomorrow. Update on my appointment: the surgeon who has gone through my file and the latest ultrasound is putting me on the upcoming surgery list. She will attempt a laparoscopy, which is day surgery, but if there is too much scarring, they will immediately convert to open surgery, and that will mean a hospital stay until my digestion is in full working order. She estimates the date will be "sometime in October or November". On the way home, I contacted our young neighbour who does house cleaning as a side business and arranged for her to come in and do a full fall cleaning here the first week in October. I don't want to feel I "have" to get it done before surgery, and I don't want to be looking at the uncleaned house after I get home. Hey. I didn't go on a holiday this year or host a big family reunion on the yard: I can afford THIS luxury!

prayers for all to go smoothly in the lead up to the surgery and the surgery and recovery grammadee - I think hiring out the fall cleaning is an excellent idea

Hi all, Happy Wednesday! I haven't been by in a while, so I thought I would check in to see how everyone is doing. I've been doing more scrapping since March, I set up a scrap space to work in and have done so much more since I don't have to pull it out and put it away all of the time. just had surgery on Monday, I broke my foot running in November and despite spending 6 months in a boot, PT and all of that, it just wouldn't heal so they re-broke it and fused it together on Monday. I'm going to be in a cast for 6 weeks and a boot for 6 weeks after that. I'm not very good at being dependent, so we will see how this goes...lol. I definitely don't like that I can't drive, although I may get a lot of scrapping done since I'll pretty much be stuck at home. I took this week off work, but will be back to work next week (although most if it is virtual meetings). Justjac- I love your two page LO! The design and photos look awesome. Kelly - I haven't seen those sprays, I love how you used them on your LO. Your art is always so pretty. Nylene - I'm really glad that you are recovering from the fall. Take care of yourself sweet lady! I'm really glad that you were able to help you dgd figure out what was wrong with her...God must have sent you to NSBR just to help her. I hope the surgery takes care of the symptoms, that will really make her life better! Your LO's of cousin camp are really great. Your grands are such cuties. I love the photo on the inventor LO...he is adorable and that LO is super cute. All of your LO's are so good, you are always so excellent with the colors on your LO and you do an awesome job with sketches. I have a hard time using them without overthinking them. Using a sketch takes me longer than just thinking something up for some reason...I think sketch I'm impaired. Grammadee -I hope your surgery goes well and that the recovery is smooth. It is great to have someone else do the cleaning for you. I have someone helping me too...she even picks up my grocery order, which is really nice since I can't drive and dh is overwhelmed trying to do some of the things that I do everyday. I hope you all have a good day! Tina
