Actually MichyM, I responded to a Pro Trump thread after all these years because I wanted to, only to be called a POS and to be told that because I support the oil industry I couldn't possibly care about my fellow Americans. The thread didn't ask you to get involved...clearly you're not Pro Trump. The accusations thrown at me (and other Trump supporters) are vile and hateful and as ridiculous as my statement above about "you" "burning down buildings, screaming in the faces of people you don't even know, killing cops...". But y'all go on with badgering anyone who thinks differently than you. Maybe you do scream in the faces of people you don't even know because they won't throw up their hitler hand in solidarity with you... I don't know why I'm posting. It's clear that most Trump supporters believe we're out murdering, looting and burning things down. Meanwhile, climate change is burning us down, causing ever more extreme weather events to destroy our country (and planet). Some people seem to be more concerned with senseless destruction of property than senseless murder by cops or wannabe vigilantes who chase down runners & gun them down or gun down a young woman asleep in bed. Meanwhile, we're in a deep recession, have food lines in America and high unemployment while the rich have capitalized upon a pandemic to become richer. Hate crimes by white supremacists have been deemed to be the number one terrorist threat to America.
We're all well aware that Trump believes service members past & present are suckers & losers as well as the fact that he downplayed a deadly virus leading to tens of thousands more people losing their lives than ever needed to while he basked in the adoration of his rallies. Other countries don't have this equitable covid devastation, but please, let Trump continue to play his fiddle while we burn.
I used to be a Republican. No more. My humanity demands more of me than to be beholden to my singular personal wealth or that of my family's. My humanity demands I not support that which Trump embodies. He has no Fruits of the Spirit. He does not embody the teachings of Christ or any other wise teacher. He does not care about any of us, no matter our political leaning. He is an opportunistic, self centered, useful fool for the ill gotten gains of others.

This is an excerpt from a 90 year old woman's obituary in my small town a few days ago.
Mom developed an interest in current events as well. Her childhood experience as a displaced person fostered great empathy for refugees of war, famine, and other disasters. She also became interested in politics. Again, her childhood during the Nazi regime and the truths she learned years later about it gave her a unique perspective on the current US administration. She described the similarities as “someone who pretends to care about the people, but really just cares about his own power.” No doubt, she regrets not being able to cast her vote this November.
As a child inCzechoslovakia, her family was forcibly removed from their home after World War II and sent as refugees to Germany.
Very telling. We have got to turn this ship around.
There are only two things Trump cares about...$$$ and staying in power.

I'm supporting Trump and can't even imagine aligning myself with the democrat party. I'm also not interested in debates as we all know, at least on this board, who we're voting for. There are so many reasons I'll be casting my republican vote, but one is that we are in the oil business and this industry doesn't need a government that intends to shut it down. Enough said. My DH was in the oil industry when we were first married. He changed jobs when the wells started shutting down and there were tons of layoffs in the industry (Southern California, around 2002). Luckily, he was only 32 when this happened. It’s just gotten worse since then. I don’t know that voting R is going to reverse that trend. My DH became LEO, which is supposedly a job that means I should vote R to support him, but it’s just not in me. I don’t support any of the other things that R’s stand for, and this was pre-Trump. We may not agree, but I wish you luck. |

I’ve never ever seen on this board anyone advocating for cops to be killed. You are insane to even say this. There are plenty more peaceful marches going on, that have been turned violent with tear gas, rubber bullets, and pepper spray coming directly from orders by trump. The party of trump has zero qualms about attacking, hurting, or killing American people who have a constitutional right to protest.
