Welcome to October. Here's to another crafty month!
If you are participating in CARDtober, please share your cards in the individual challenge threads over on the Stamping/cardmaking board. You are welcome to share them here as well, but if you share in only one place, please make it there so people can see all takes on a particular challenge one place.
Please share your other projects here and/or in the Gallery. And don't forget to leave some love!

Here's my first share for October! I matted the first DIY mini album I constructed last month. It took me just at five hours to get it all done. I used the Watercolor Florals pack paper from Recollections for the matting. I'm posting an 8x version of the video walk-through here. If anyone wants to see the full length video, it's available here.

My cards today are made using the October SheetLoad of Cards template. Instead of doing all eight cards the same, I mixed things up and did four holiday cards and four all occasion cards. Details can be found in my YouTube video.

CoffeeCrafter 'DIY album' What a labour of love! You've done an amazing job building and matting this pretty album. I love the constrast between the stark black and the soft floral pattern patterns. It really pops and draws the eye in. The clear box element is such a clever and oh-so fun element to include. So much extra interactivity and the glossy shine from the acetate brings in another texture. Beautifully done! 'October Sheetload cards' So pretty and classy... *quietly swoons* I love that you separated the floral element from the butterflies for the all occasion cards. It brings in such a fun graphic play with those big, bold stripes tucked in between. The glittery body on the butterflies is a wonderful finishing touch and a wonderful reminder of their symbolism for metamorphosis! Wonderful softness all around on those holiday cards. Violet and powdery blue are just beautiful together. The splatter effect combined with the discreet sequins adds just a little bit of depth and dimension without overpowering the delicateness. Very nice! grammadee 'Thankful for these branches of our family tree' Oh my, I've gone to muted autumn heaven! I adore your scene creation (reminds me of nylene's beautiful landscapes). The house, picket fence and tree are three major symbols of family and home life so I think it's wonderful you've centered your LO around these. The letter stickers ever so slightly overlapping each other and being a perfect colour match for the tree leaves give the impression that they've just been blown off the branches. So poetic! Those super sparkly sequins give the illusion that the 'thankful' die-cut is a galaxy in the autumn sky which is such a touching way to remind us that the bonds of unconditional love are eternal. 'Tidings card' Aww, your passion for gnomes is showing again! How adorable is this one in his buffalo plaid outfit. Very Canadian! I love the graphic work with the overlapping frames. It almost gives the impression Mister Gnome is popping out of some different geometric dimension to come wish the recipient good tidings. Very nice!

I couldn't help myself. I made another mini album today. I seriously think I may need an intervention soon. LOL This one took between 90-120 minutes to complete from start to finish. I followed the Accordion Style Mini Album tutorial by Frances Long of Your Book of Memories to create the album and then used the Heartwarming Hugs DSP from Stampin' Up to decorate it. This album holds a total of fifteen 4x6" photos. I'll post my little "trailer" video here. If you would like to watch the full-length walk through video, you can find it here on my YouTube channel.

Wow CoffeeCrafter you've been so busy already! Thank you for the quick trailer flip-throughs. Your albums are so cool. So much work, but so cool. The last one would make an amazing gift. Do you have specific plans for them? And your Sheetload cards are lovely. The color combos and the papers are so pretty. I need to check out this month's video and see if I can get myself motivated. I like the design.

I like the design. Thanks, joblackford! I'm planning to keep the larger one for myself. It was the very first album I constructed, so there are quite a few errors in it. I'm fine with those mistakes for an album for myself, but wouldn't want to give it to someone else. LOL I'm planning to document a road trip vacation I took with my BFF a couple of years ago. We drove from NW Washington across the northern plains visiting National Parks. We drove all the way out to the Badlands in western South Dakota then turned around and made our way back to Washington. The little accordion style album is going to be a gift. I'm planning to give it to my BFF's sister-in-law. They got married in 2019, so last year was their first Christmas as a married couple, so I thought it might be a fun way for her to document it. She's not a paper crafter, so all she'll have to do in pop in a few 4x6" photos directly on the white photo mats. I'm planning to include a little tape runner in the package as well for her to attach the photos.

(I live just west of Seattle, but I haven't been into Eastern WA yet). The gift album sounds like a wonderful idea.

Put together some quick cards today. Basically just let the pp and diecuts lead me where they may. Cut & folded the card bases, found and cut the pp in the morning, then this afternoon just grabbed & glued when I had a bit of time. snowfall with banners by Gramma Dee, on Flickr snowy trees by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Was inspired by the Sheetload of cards video that joblackford shared over in the CARDtober #3 challenge: based on sheetload video by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Cut the pp here like CoffeeCrafter demo'd last month: POINTS: claiming Easy Peasy for these ten cards. Ten cards created & shared (20), Easy Peasy points 10 x 15 = (150) Total: 170

Ooh, that sounds like a fun road trip. I'd love to go east and see how the landscape changes. (I live just west of Seattle, but I haven't been into Eastern WA yet). I definitely recommend it if you get the opportunity. My BFF lives in Bellingham, so I flew into SEA-TAC and she picked me up there. The biggest "hiccup" in our trip was the unexpected late May snowstorm that hit Yellowstone on our second day there. They closed the park and we were forced out at the southern entrance/exit when our plan had been to exit via the northern entrance/exit then head over to North Dakota. On the upside, we got to add an additional National Park (Grand Teton), a National Forest (Shoshone), and a Native American Reservation (Wind River) that hadn't been on our original itinerary.

Here was my card for today's CARDtober challenge. Love the pink and green combo! All the details are on my blog. Love that card, CoffeeCrafter . So much depth in that design, and I love those shades of pink green.
One part of my scraproom that did NOT get a clean yesterday was my Vagabond cart. I have gone back to my old ways of using a die to cut and then tossing it into a pile on the cart instead of taking the time to put it away properly. There are some layered birthday greetings in there somewhere....
Maybe I should use the enthusiasm generated by your card, go through those poor discarded dies, show them some love, and put them away properly.

I started this one Sept. 30, but didn't finish it until the Google Hangout yesterday. It's an adaptation of sketch #24. I decided to change the rectangular paper layers into large letters. I used the hot air balloons because there was a September challenge - and now I don't even get to claim the points! layout grand grads by kirstendrew, on Flickr

So far keeping up with Scrap Happy LOAD. Helps that most of them have been 8x6" pages. Here is my page for Day 4.
Just counting Easy Peasy for this one. One 6x8 page created & shared (2). Easy Peasy points (15). Total = 17 points.
Have just that box card from Day ONE holding me back for CARDtober. (Still working on a way to do it, though). Put together 8 cards this morning using @coffecrafter's Day 4 prompt. Here are two of them: CARDtober #4 with P13 Winter by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee 'David' You may not have many photos of your father but this one is wonderful and full of character. I love how much focus you put on the story of this storyteller. He sounds like such a wonderful person to have had as your guide and parent. The colours you chose complement the black & white portrait beautifully. Love that bit of gleam in the navy shade! 'Christmas wishes card' Such a soft colour scheme to give all the fuzzy holiday feels... I love how you mixed linear elements with small round patterns to keep the recipient's eye travelling. The gift pile in the main ornament is absolutely darling! CoffeeCrafter 'Thanks card' How beautiful is this card... Very modern chic! I adore love the contrast play here: between the organic shapes of the flowers and the geometric pattern of the elegant embossed background; between the black & white and the pink & green. This is one of those perfectly balanced projects.

I need to come back here later and leave some love... October 5th, and here is my page for the LOAD Day 5 prompt (happy accident). I explained it over there, but I never planned for a career in Adult Ed, just kind of fell into it after leaving a toxic work place. But this was my first home room class in that workplace, and these kids I LOVED...
Points: one page created & shared (2). For the Donna challenge in #1 one photo (5), #9 basic dies (1), #13 b&w photo (1), #16 two manufacturers (1), #24 rectangles (1), #27 fall colours (1), #28 all about me album (1), #29 old supplies (1), #35 there I am, smiling (2), #44 fussy cut the title word (1). #58 inked edges (1), torn edge (1), #60 >25 words (1), #64 thickers (1), #73 two patterns (2). Total: 23
and here is my take on the CARDtober #5 challenge (holiday card with traditional colours): I went on to put together nine other cards in red & green. When I was stowing away my Christmas pretties in January/February, I sorted the scraps, diecuts, and things like sequins and gems by colour into an old divided ornament box. After I got the green foil down on these cards, I just grabbed a couple of ziplocks of diecuts and some sequins and started gluing. These have ten sequins each for the Perfect Ten challenge: red & green & 10 sequins by Gramma Dee, on Flickr There are six more similar cards in the Gallery. POINTS: ten cards created & shared (20). #1 ten cards for CARDtober #5 (20)+ twists (1), plus one bonus (5), #4 Perfect ten (3), #24 rectangles (10), #25 squares (3), #36 I chose sequins for this month (59), #55 foil (10), #59 three banners, four labels & tags (7), #61 ten Christmas cards (10), word "Merry" (4). Total: 211

Today's CARDtober challenge coincided perfectly with my Merry Monday series on my blog. I've been making so many albums, I had completely forgotten to make a card for today's blog post. Oops! LOL Thanks to CARDtober, it all worked out in the end. Speaking of albums ... Yes, I made another one yesterday. LOL I've got the walk-through video recorded, but still need to edit it. I'll be back later with the "trailer" version once I upload the full length one to my YouTube channel.

As I mentioned in my earlier card share post, I completed another mini album. This one is following the Double Waterfall Folio tutorial by Frances Long of Your Book of Memories. I used the Fall Market paper collection from Carta Bella to decorate it. This one took me about 2½ hours to make from start to finish. I think it would be a cute to put recipes in it instead of photos and give it as a gift. I'll post the "trailer" video here. If you're interested in seeing the full video, it's available here on my YouTube channel.
