I need to get in here and comment on the awesome posted layouts and all, but first, I need to say thanks to the person who posted the challenge to put away layouts. Yes, it took all morning, but I put 117 scrapbook pages into the correct books where they should go!! Wow! That's a lot of work. Good job getting that done. it must feel so good And getting points for it is even better.

grammadee I love all of your vintage photos, and the stories about you. I chuckled at the style one - hopefully those fashions will stay "in" for a long while! And the story about your mother and Christmas <3 The Independence layout is great. You've been busy! I can't keep up with all the LOAD pages and cards you're getting done this month.

Back to scrapping dgk's today. I couldn't get my head around the LOAD prompt (scrap about in what ways I am unconventional) for a page about me, so I went with this, instead.
Points: two pages created & shared (4). #3 three photos for Donna challenge (15), #10 three October photos (6), #16 two manufacturers (2), #24 & 25 (4), 327 bright fall colours (2), #31 5x7 pic's (2), #33 PL cards (3), #35 I am smiling (2), #54 glitter PL cards (2), #58 inked edges (2), #59 banners (1), #60 >25 words (1), #73 three pp's per page (6), #74 sport (2). Total: 54
I NEED to go back through this thread and leave love for everyone's creations. Have been keeping up in the Gallery, but not here. Also need to make sure I have linked all my own cards and pages so I can calculate my points. In other words: DO MY HOMEWORK!!!

Comments on creations shared on Page ONE: Linda, you started the month with a BANG!!! The tilted mats on that 21st anniversary page add are fab. The pink & black really highlight the striking photos of your celebratory feast. Love the photos of the steps in her process on the Science LO. Her birthday looks happy, indeed. Love the cupcake and balloons, and the peachy background with the blues in the photos. Relative Insanity looks like a fun game, and your bright colours and bold shapes really play on that to make this a fun page. Great photos of first day of school, and those academic pp's are perfect! So hard to find school papers that are not too infantile for older kids. CoffeeCrafter, your books amaze me! So much detail, and your choices of colour are wonderful. I really need to go visit your blog to see your card step-by-steps, too. Everything you create looks so professional!

I used a september sketch on repeat for this layout. For the title, I most certainly wanted to use the phrase "Moths are friends not food!" like "Finding Nemo"s "Fish are Friends not food" but I thought that was one notch too obscure and silly LAYOUT moths are friends by kirstendrew, on Flickr

A little love for page TWO! lynnek, you did a great job with that VB! Love all the bright colours, especially in the large words. Great way to represent the energy of a new school year. Linda, those Halloween cards are cute. Love how you used the PL cards and their sayings. I think my fav is A Spooking we will GO. CoffeeCrafter, I love the floral pp in those starburst cards, and that flip book is AMAZING!!! I think I caught on Flickr everyone else who shared on page two.

Now, if the page was about a dog who had a habit of eating them, it might be a perfect title. Lol. I love that little cluster of mushrooms and ferns in the lower corner. All your clusters, but especially that one. And the title is lovely on that dark woodgrain. I like the alphas you used.

All my Halloween cards ready to be written and sent out Wow, great work! I usually make lots of Halloween cards during CARDtober but this year, not so much. But your cards are motivating me. Your friends and family will love receiving those.

I'm afraid I'm much further behind on commenting than you are. I've been enjoying looking but haven't had time to click through and think about saying coherent things. Not to mention, calculating points? It's only a couple of days into the month, isn't -- ? oh, no. It isn't. Doh!

A card I made for one of the Cardtober challenges only to realise it didn't ACTUALLY met the requirements...oops. I love it though and it'll be perfect for DS so...all's well.

This LO is for the October scraplift challenge. The photo is of my niece. I used the 'Little Dreamer' kit by Kimeric Kreations.

I had a use-it-or-lose-it moment the other day. I had kept a National Parks calendar for "inspiration" because I liked the drawing style, but what does that mean? I just had it sitting in a folder. So I chopped up the pictures and turned them into cards. I may add a little sentiment, but I might not bother. I like that they're abstract, gender neutral, and they celebrate American scenery. The photo isn't great, sorry. The paper has a slightly glossy coating. But you get the idea. I was able to get 2 cards from each calendar picture. I "auditioned" them with a rectangle die before I started cutting to make sure the images would make sense on a smaller scale. Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr ETA: the ones in the pile are a bit more abstract, but still pretty cool. I didn't have space to spread them all out. These are my favorites.

They look terrific, too.

How did you make the background star? Thanks schroema! It's this paper from Paige Evan's Horizon line: I cut out in pairs of the rays to play with them. When I inverted them inside-out it came out like this. It was so easy and I loved it

I just shared my October album progress on the Oct Daily thread but I'm going to cut and paste pretty much the same info here. I don't think I shared the cover and first pages here so I'll add them - apologies if I did already share them here. The backgrounds are DCWV Ghost Stories pages cut to 8" tall and folded to make a 6x8 booklet. Cover/self portrait (lol): Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Intro (depressing) and creepy doll. I added a couple of labels to this page since, but it's pretty much like this: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Glowing under black light lemon juicers (uranium glass we are selling for the FIL that I'm using as decoration), and required pumpkin coffee page: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr This page needs some spiders or something: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr October 3rd memes and books: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Pumpkins. I'm not very good at doing the page a day thing so I'm not. I grew the little yellow and green guys! Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Movies (the printer gave me troubles, cutting edges off, but I'm pretending I don't care) and the movie list I made myself without too much agony/overthinking today: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Mushrooming and lawn killing: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Fall leaves: Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr More fall leaves (unfinished?) and the feral cat who sleeps on our porch, Simon Gruber (cousin of Hans, our Christmas visitor). My husband scared away the black cat Simon was yowling at just before I managed to hit the shutter - grrr! Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr And Coco! Oct share by jo.blackford, on Flickr That's it so far. Pretty close to caught up. Today I took a bunch of photos of Halloween decorations and pretty colored pumpkins instead of buying them. Pretty sure I don't want to do an album like this ever again, but it's coming together OK. For now it's being held together with a rubber band but I will stitch bind it when it's done.

I was able to sit down this weekend and do a few pages. Feast or famine over here. Only one sketch left to complete. This has made me a huge fan of Allison Davis and now I want to buy all her sketches.
