I am also sorry that leowife has left. I wish her and her family all the best.
That is the good thing about a message board/online community, it is one of the few places/things that we (general we) have somewhat control over these days. Therefore if it isn’t giving you (general you) pleasure or joy and is causing you stress and pain, I certainly can understand moving on. I hope she can find a happy internet spot to land that does bring her happiness.

Pretty sure that's what pushed her out. There's a couple that people quoted. I didn't agree with her stand on Trump but we are also a LEO family and I know how hard it is to be part of that family right now. |

I stay away from her threads (didn’t read the marriage or violence threads) because I think so opposite of her. My brother is a police sergeant and thinks completely opposite of her as well. I didn’t want to be disrespectful to her but I understand how difficult it is. |

Awwww, I will miss her! I don’t know her very well, but she gave me lots of encouragement when I had surgery earlier this year. Guess it goes to support that we don’t have to agree on everything in order to experience love from one another. I hope she will feel rested and return one day!

It looks like the final straw was the violence on Nov 4 thread.

My own experience here is that there are a few very self righteous peas who make any comment they don’t agree with a call to arms. It’s disheartening. Even if a thread is drama free, at some point one of those peas shows up to make it all about them and their opinions and it spirals from there. And then another damn thread is derailed. I’m no shrinking violet, don’t get my feelings hurt by peas I disagree with. I haven’t blocked anyone. But I read less and less here because everything is a battle. And it’s the same battle every time, with the same comments from the same peas all agreeing with each other. And it ends up infecting the most benign threads. I mean, the Christmas card swap turned into a fucking drama post.
I wasn’t here when the makeup of the board was mostly conservative, but I wouldn’t be proud that the other side has gone down the same road with shifting demographics. There is no high road here.
