I had been feeling bad about the DC security issues added to Covid precautions and how Joe and Kamala wouldn't get all of the inaugural traditions, but I really should have known better. Today was a beautiful day. Really special.

So many touches that were awesome - the musical performers, the pledge that was signed while spoken, the poet, and others. |

i love that she wore flats! my feet ached just watching the other people walk and stand on stone surfaces for any extended length of time. I know! I saw that Dr. B changed those heels for walking in the streets, but they were still heels! Their dogs must be aching! They were still heels is right! I would be that woman doing the drunk woman walk of shame, walking barefoot and holding my heels. |

I did watch Biden’s inauguration. Lady Gaga made me cry. I also cried when Harris took her oath. I couldn’t help but think that if there is a COVID outbreak, it will be because Garth went around and hugged everyone. Lol! It was a beautiful ceremony!

Just came online, so I'll have to come back and read thru this thread!! DH and I were up at 6 am, excited for the day! Didn't realize that we'd begin to see Biden at around 8:30 am, so we were glued to the tv ALL day! We did stick thru the Trump debacle (all lies!!), but then the remainder of the day was nothing but touching, sweet, kind, hopeful, religious, happy. We were applauding all day!!
I meant to go food shopping but after 8:30 am, I didn't want to leave the tv!! No champagne here, but today would have been the perfect day for a toast. What a relief. What a beautiful day. I felt so much more calm......
The night was capped off when we saw the concert (the end) with Katy Perry singing Firework. Seeing the fireworks and seeing the Bidens together (looking so adorably in love---was she wearing a wrist corsage??). I loved seeing her lean into his shoulder--true love!! Going to bed feeling calm and happy. Ahhhh!

Can't see any coverage of the armed protesters outside other state capitols. Did that all come to nothing?
Really pleased the inauguration went ahead without a hint of trouble but wondering how other locations fared.
