My LO for the Something Big lesson! Oops! I didn't realize the bottom right corner photographed so bad. Thereare a couple of lessons I haven't figured out if I'll do; Lines and Ledgers (I may do it, but without the ledger paper...I'm not sure yet.) The other one is from yesterday; Boxes on Boxes. I just don't like how it looks. Maybe after I see some of the other LO's people post, I'll try it. We'll see! I LOVE seeing all of your LO's. They are all fantastic! I wish you could like the posts on her forum, but I haven't figured out how.

Is anyone else in awe of how Shimmelle can just grab a pair of big scissors and cut a completely straight line for the edge of a photo mat? I have enough trouble getting my TRIMMER to cut on the line I want. Every single time she does a Live she gets comments!! It's a skill, for sure. She says she didn't have a trimmer when she started scrapping in college, just photos, cardstock, and scissors. So she learned how to cut straight. I have gotten better at fussy cutting but anything longer than the blade of my scissors goes wonky and wrong. I don't even cut the extra overhanging bits off with scissors most of the time - I'm extremely reliant on my trimmer. She went for a few months last year not being able to unearth her trimmer from the piles in her half-done studio and cut everything with scissors. eek!

KikiPea, I like how you used the year as your "big element". And your page is gorgeous, as usual. I can see where your style doesn't lend itself to the boxes. I think I will eventually try variations of them all, but not all right now.

I have enough trouble getting my TRIMMER to cut on the line I want. Small labels is about the limit of my skills unless there is an obvious line to follow. I'm amazed at how many people I see on youtube or facebook videos cut their papers by hand.

Great take on the something big prompt KikiPea, I love how the colours in the year balance with the heart print. I try to take on all the layouts but there are definitely instances where I need to see what other people do with the prompt before I can work out how to make it fit with my style.

I finally had some time to watch the latest prompt and was happy it was this style of half and half layout. I remember her doing this during a Friday live once and I've used the design a handful of times since then. This is my layout:

This is a layout I’m nervous about I find this style of layout works well when I have have photos that are connected but don't go together particularly well, or before and after type situations. I've used this type of page to document two movies that had my DH and I saw across a couple of date nights, with one movie in each half, and I can see it would be a great design for something like cooking in progress and the finished dish. This is the first time I've used two different background pieces, I usually put my two 11x5 boxes on a white cardstock background.

I finally finished my page for lesson 5. I’ve been waiting for the photo strip to arrive from the printers. The photos are ones my son took just after my granddaughter was born.

Lesson #7 Last page (ironically the title page) for my west vacation album from 2018. This design worked really well for a summary page.

sueg such a sweet LO! Where is the butterfly from? It’s awesome! The butterfly is a Paige Evans cut file. I bought it through the Silhouette design store, and cut it with my silhouette, after a bit of measuring to get the right size. I was lazy, and backed it with a single piece of patterned paper, rather than trying to use different papers for different sections.

sueg your big cut file page is so sweet and the butterfly backed in just the one paper is so pretty. I think you did a wonderful job turning 6 and 7 into a double page, I love how you brought the circles across into the title page and how the bigger blocks from the first page turn up in the circles on the second. schroema I love the use of the smaller photos on the bottom box and the mix of papers is just fab. I'm so glad you're all are sharing here, I love seeing all your pages.

Loving everyone's half & half pages.
Do you know how many classes there are in total? Didn't notice her saying the last one was indeed the last one. But haven't seen a new one since Friday last week.

I think there were meant to be 12 in total. That’s how many sets of photos that were in the photo sizes list anyway. Hopefully there’ll be a new video soon.

I saw her post on instagram stories that her husband is sick and apologizing for the delay in videos. Hopefully he's feeling better soon

Yes, it sounded like her husband was very sick so she asked everyone to spread the word that scheduled videos would be late. She hasn't posted anything to IG today.

I hope her husband is recovering. I see she posted a new video since last I checked. An interactive page with a flip up folder.

love her latest, the two pager. May try that this weekend with some gardening photos from last week. I really like what she did with those three large mats. I know my pages will look more cluttered. Still working on her pointers to limit shapes &/or colours in my layers and clusters. Still want to take on that flip up element, too.
I love how all her elements go together yet each is distinct. Anyone else catching themselves inking STICKERS?

I won’t be doing any before then because I have to pack up my scrappy stuff for a bday weekend crop with my bestie! 🥰 I still don’t usually ink my stickers, but I do sometimes ink my diecuts.

Anyone else catching themselves inking STICKERS? I ink everything. Die cuts. Stickers. Black card stock. Everything. My sisters tease me about it. One laughs when I ink black card stock with black ink. Another goes Bob Ross and calls it “happy little tinking”. She thought I said “tinking” instead of “inking”. Gotta love family! 😂

The "last official class" is up. Using different backgrounds on a two page LO is something I often do. I like how her photos flow on hers, and definitely see myself using this LO design over and over.
Haven't watched this video yet. She says in the notes that there will be a short followup video--or series of them?--which she is working on now.

I thought of you grammadee when I saw her page design for the latest video.
I'm not going to lie, this will definitely be a challenge for me as I'm not a big fan of mixed backgrounds like this, so I may just cheat and using matching papers and take inspiration from elsewhere in her layout.

I did the diminishing boxes LO tonight. I did the boxes part, but totally forgot the half & half part. Oops!
