Anyone else have those spreads that just do not want to come together? The spread I'm working on for the 1st full of week of March has been on my desk for a week. I just can't make up my mind on embellishments and where to put things but at this point it's getting a little ridiculous. Ugh, those spreads. Hate them. I think I usually scrap my initial card choices (or at least where they were positioned) and try to unblock that scrappy Suez canal of creativity by "starting over" but that's also time-consuming.

I stopped at week 7 and then skipped and did week 14. I just went back today and tried to do week 8 and realize I skipped because I basically only took pictures of my beer. I just pushed through and did it. It feels good and in the end it looks like I did slightly more than drink. It was a super snowy week too. I think that was the issue.

I am crap at taking photos, not only are my photos no good, but I also simply forget to take them. So, for example, I will have lunch with a friend and completely forget to take a single photo. I really need to work on this. So anyway, that's one of the reasons that I have always done PL as a monthly spread. I just do not have enough photos to document every week. But this system has been working for me and yesterday I completed the month of March so I'm feeling very positive.

I am uber excited because Friday is the release of "Smoke and Bone" on Netflix AND MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAT on HBO. We just finished the first episode of Shadow and Bone! Not disappointed. This'll likely make it into my PL as well.

I'll be having a blast, enjoying myself and realise days/weeks later when I'm about to get scrappy that I forgot to take pics.

Bought the books earlier this month because I liked the Netflix trailer!

I've done digital PL since 2012. I started out monthly, then switched to weekly in 2013. Now I do weekly, biweekly or monthly, depending on how many photos I have for the month. I am currently in mid-March so not too far behind.

I'm stunned to be able to say I'm actually caught up with 2021 at this point. I have been "doing" PL since pretty much the beginning (those round cornered cards with the terrible cardboard 12x12 albums from BH) and I've never finished a year. Some years have been more successful than others. I'm not interested in finishing those albums ( my photo editing/computer skills are not good enough), but will maybe combine the pages I've done into a long range retrospective at some point. This year I'm doing 9x12 with no rules. I do pages as long as there are pictures and stories. I've been printing photos on average twice a month - let's face it, we're not doing much, and I've still managed to fill an album already. My pages are very photo heavy. I'm using mostly supplies from Cocoa Daisy which change enough monthly that it keeps me interested. Sticking with the CD kits makes it easy to finish pages quickly because the products go together without having to think about it. In the past I've been paralyzed by too many choices in my fairly large SB stash so limited myself is working for now. To help cut down on the indecision, I've purged what seems like a mountain of round cornered cards from past kits and subscriptions because now I only do square corners. OK, I guess I have one rule...

Ok in an effort to make sure I actually use my free time for my hobbies I have decided that I will set aside Wednesday evenings for crafty time. I just pulled some veggie curry out of the freezer and will be working my way through Jan 2021 tonight! I also picked up some discount kits from Studio Calico (my first ever kits!) and I hope to use them soon! I got the Chasing the Sun, Full Bloom, Take it Easy, and Sunset Bay documenter kits. Rounded corners no more! They arrived pretty quickly and I'm very pleased with them. I went big and signed up for a full year

I haven't even started yet. Not a single page. I plan on doing it monthly and then supplementing with individual layouts as nice photos/special events/important moments call for it. I ordered all of my photos earlier this week, and am going to pick them up today. I think I have enough photos for January and February, but March is very light. I have tons of photos for April as we did a mini vacation. Usually this time of the year, I give up because I don't feel like my photos are good enough, but this year I have decided to just go with it.
I bought the Simple Stories Hello Today to use to try and keep somewhat of a cohesive look for the pocket layouts and will supplement with whatever existing stash I have. Anything is fair game for the 12x12 layouts, but I will try to make somewhat of an effort to coordinate with the facing page. I really don't have too many pockets to fill, so I hope to get started on the journaling today and everything into pockets on the weekend. Wildly ambitious.

I finally put blank page protectors in my album and labeled them for each week. I feel like that's a huge accomplishment for me who hasn't scrapped since early 2020. I have most of January's photos edited now I just need to print them out (1 out of 2 hurdles accomplished so far) although I'm now having problems with my Epson printer not wanting to print the nice white border I have around all my photos. There used to be a dialog box where you could change the size of the printable area and I'm not seeing it in my old Photoshop elements v.12, so I'm a googling fool trying to figure out how to print the full photo (I've done every combination in the print box - center image, 4x6 borderless, 4x6 border, and so on and so forth). If anyone has any tips I'll take 'em. I feel like an IT/tech support failure because I can't figure this out.

I have photos printed for January + February and have resigned to figuring out hand-written journaling for these months (maybe typed on my typewriter?). I prefer printed journaling, but need to figure out getting my journaling printed on card stock from Staples or Office Max because my home printer is on the fritz and all my troubleshooting hasn’t resolved the problem thus far. I think I’ll feel better once I get the first two months completed and by then hopefully I’ll resolve my printing problems for later months.

It was my 10 year wedding anniversary 2 weeks ago and we didn't even take a single photo, a night out with the girls still no photo LOL. I love the look of the weekly break downs but I can go a whole week and not take a single photo of anything but my dog (sorry kids), at this point in time making it a monthly spread is much easier for me to get enough content in my album.

I stopped at Nov 2020. For 2021 I plan to try out the 9x12 I I got earlier this year. I’m doing monthly at the moment because nothing is happening and I’m not taking a lot of photos. I have a three day crop this weekend. I’m so excited. I’m sitting with friends and we’re all vaccinated. I’m planning to get 2020 done and also crop some 12x12 in my pet album.

Today, Monday 3rd of May, marks the first day of being allowed to leave home without a certificate or proof of residence in France. It's the little things when you're in a hardcore lockdown...
Sharing this gem of an album by Billy Raffoul that he has made available for free on YouTube since I've been playing this on repeat for the past couple of weeks - give it a listen if you like folksy rock'n'roll:

Ok just a quick question. Last night I sorted and printed my photos for January. I've decided to do a monthly collection of pictures. But with that said, I went to Pinterest and looked for pocket page ideas. And it seemed like all the Pinterest layouts were still one pocket page = one event. Whereas I want to do a random assortment of photos in one pocket page. Does that make sense? If I wanted to scrapbook only one "idea" at a time, I would just scrapbook the traditional way. One page at a time. Does anyone do a more random type of page with an eclectic mix of photos? Would you be willing to share one of your pages? Just so I can see how you've done it? I would really appreciate it. I just need to think this out in my head before I start putting my page together.
