You know it. You dread it. But secretly, you also love it. This is your Project Life thread for Pandemic: Year 2. Hop in. Climb aboard this fast-moving train and just get down whatever you can get down. Use this thread for monthly keepsakes, product discussion, progress tracking, mutual motivation, photos of your 2021 PL spreads and whatnot. Do not hesitate to use this just to mark down the stuff you want to remember when you do eventually get around to building your album! This is the space for your brain to get messy, to vent about the difficulties of PL during these difficult times, to find the encouragement you need to get over that plateau and, most importantly, lift your cup and gossip! I know, I know, it's almost May already but...

Marking my spot for the monthly-ish pop culture & random notes! April: Love and Monsters (Netflix) AKA the wholesome post apocalyptic movie I didn't know I needed (also, very cute dog) | Gone Are The Days, Kygo | Queen of the South, season 5 | Raya and the Last Dragon (Disney) #fightlikeagirl | Ring of Kerry, Conqueror Challenge |

I started off so well with PL this year, got the first 4 weeks completed in January, but then it all came to a halt. My problem is that the templates I use are very big files, and it crashes Photoshop when I try to work with them. It was fine when I was using my MacBook, but I killed that and I'm stuck with my PC and its pitiful 4gb of RAM.

I am all digital and late last year SC had digital kits for $1.00 so I bought all the kits that had month cards. It was worth the $12! Sample KitWe are empty nesters and I scrap regular layouts, so I do PL monthly style now that our weeks are less busy (or at least less exciting).

I've been "in" since March when I decided to start 😆 I do PL weekly and don't stress about doing the spreads each week. Generally I order photos for 1-2 months at a time and work on all those weeks within a weekend or so. I'm pretty photo heavy and do minimal embellishments.

I'm here and want to start January but I'm stuck with my normal problem of not printing photos out. I've done PL off and on since 2014 and would eventually like to catch up the months and months I've missed but again, I need to print out those damn photos! Goal for this week is to edit and print January 2021 week 1 & 2.

I'm still doing PL. I am caught up through March. I work on 12x12 monthly pocket pages and have done it this way for years now. Its works for me, lol. We are usually empty nesters (with one son at home doing college because of Covid) and he moves back out this fall, so Im debating dropping to a smaller size next year.

I am so behind! I have been working on other projects and let PL slide. I still haven't finished 2020 but I have an album and supplies for 2021.
I do monthly pages, but last year was much bigger than usual with all the extra memes, Covid and politics stuff. Hoping it will still fit in one album.

I've done January and part of March 2021. I haven't tackled February, partly because I need to steal a bunch of photos from my DH's phone, and partly because March was easier to do. I missed several months last fall for 2020 and I haven't started DD2020 yet but I'm happy I have anything done at all, so focusing on that. I love looking at past year's albums so that keeps me motivate. All those little details I'd forget if I didn't do PL.
For pop culture and random notes: Watching Agents of Shield on Netflix (not great but feel invested), Falcon & the Winter Soldier (Disney+), & finished Queen's Gambit (Netflix, late to the party but I loved it). Reading Never Spit the Difference by Chris Voss & The Book of Joy by the Dali Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Carlton. Making my own journal cards. Listening to Hidden Brain & By the Book podcasts. Eating way too much pizza and bread lately. Loving working out again and new yellow sandals.

I started out with great enthusiasm and was on top of it but have kind of slacked off a bit in the last 3 weeks or so, I do need to get into my room and spend some time on my album. This is the first year that I have done an album, I have tried in the past but failed miserably and stopped at the end of January. I bought a Cannon Selphy at the start of our lock downs last year because I figured that I might be spending a quite a bit of time at home and I discovered the convenience of instant printing so it has made project life a much easier task.

My mojo has been up and down this year so I've been making progress but have about 4 weeks of pocket pages and 8 weeks of the facing 12x12 pages to complete. I hope to use the classes by Shimelle and Allison Davis to catch up on at least some of those pages.
I've also been making a real effort to use all the random stuff, the last of packets, the super themed pieces, and the really old stuff in my stash and take great delight whenever I get any of those into my pockets.

Waiting on Costco to deliver photos has made my 2021 album very much more "digital" than I usually like. ie: Just type the words on the photos and skip embellishing when they arrive. I missed the process so forced myself to skip it a few weeks and it made me so happy. Anyway.
I am uber excited because Friday is the release of "Smoke and Bone" on Netflix AND MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAT on HBO. Not to mention wrapping up Falcon and the Winter Soldier... although it still is not as good as WandaVision. Listening to a mix of Taylor Swift's new Fearless and Disney tunes.

I do it monthly and have already completed Jan and Feb. I also like to include other things in my PL album, so for example, in early April I did a super-mini WITL and included that. I keep forgetting to take photos though and every day seems like the same, so yeah, not much motivation going on here.

I’ve never done it, but am interested in doing it - my problem is I can’t decide between digital 10x10 or pocket 9x12 or 6x8. So here it is April and I haven’t touched anything. 🙄 I have been much more aggressive about entering memories in Day One than I ws earlier in the pandemic, and I’m going back and entering 2014 from planner/journal pages at that time. It’s been interesting comparing the two years. Is your PC a desktop or laptop? Adding RAM may be relatively inexpensive. Photoshop is a RAM hog, especially with 6+ photos, a template and embellishments all open. What happened to your MacBook?

I haven’t touched PL since November 2020. I will absolutely catch it up. I haven’t taken many photos, and just have not had anything really happening, so catching up won’t be too dreadful. I am hopeful for a more exciting summer this year (vaxes are underway! Life is slowly resuming!) so, I’m looking forward to renewing my love for this project as things normalize.
There was just so much groundhogs day I could document. I kept at it for 9 months (March to Oct/Nov 2020), but then I just fizzled out.

I'm several years behind. I need to find a better solution to editing and resizing the photos. I think that's what keeps me from working on it.
I do keep up with a diary app otherwise I wouldn't remember much of what happened when. I go back and forth from daily, weekly and then huge gaps of time in between.
I'm struggling with how much of covid I want to put in. Like do I need all these screen grabs of graphs? I probably have about 20.

I am shocked that I am caught up through the first two weeks of April, and have last week's photos printed and ready to go. I quit working on my 2020 album in March when the pandemic hit and I gave birth to my third son. I picked it back up late in the year and it's now complete through April. My goal is to finish it off and do the remaining months through the end of the year along with my current album. What I have found works for me is to print, cut, and place my photos each week (when I can or have the energy) into the page protectors and then embellish them or make journal/filler cards to fill the empty pockets when the month is over so I can coordinate. Another way I like to fill empty pockets is to use pictures of funny memes that I saved during the week.

I haven't documented 2020 at all because I'm not sure what I want to do about covid, I have too many photos to edit and resize, and I do keep my daily diary up to date! I'm starting with the first two weeks of January, I'm going to edit those photos and print them out here at home. Then, if I'm feeling sassy, I'll edit the rest of the month and maybe February and upload/send them to Persnickety since I have a million photo credits to use up (okay, not a million but quite a few).

This is my first year doing PL style album and I really like it. I usually do a couple weeks at a time. Currently I’m only two weeks behind this week and it’s the only year I’ve been keeping up on my album. Though I’m liking it I do miss some of the artsy 12x12 pages I’m used to doing. But in the end I’m enjoy being caught up and knowing I’ll only have one album for the year! It’s a win for me!
I’m also working on my 2020 albums and am almost done. And our school albums for this year and last. The school albums are a combo of PL style and traditional.

Every year since 2018 I think I start off the year super gung-ho about Project Life and scrapbooking in general but I have never been successful in keeping up with it or even finishing out a year. For a few of the older years I at some point switched to months only, but I still have partial years by week I want to finish. I only just last night starting doing anything for 2021. I previously tried to go a full 2 pages per week, then switched to 1 or 2 pages depending, but since I'm so behind I'm just making it 1 page and I can always add in smaller pages if I want to, or traditional pages. I at least was pretty decent about keeping a journal/daily log since Jan 2020 so I can go back and find a lot of those little details I may have already forgotten or that I don't have a picture for.
I feel like the stars have finally lined up in my favor for this year, at least on paper. I have space, I have time, and I have finally somewhat less emotional drain from the pandemic and other personal life things. 2021 is my year I can feel I!
Also for some reason I convinced myself buying new things will help so I've been on a mini shop-a-thon. We shall see.

I still have to finish up December in 2020 (slowly working through that) but I started 2021 back in January when I had the mojo. I ALWAYS start the new year in January, even if the previous year isn't done, and then play catch up on the older album when I feel like it. This keeps me from feeling overwhelmed by feeling super "behind."
For 2021 I am doing Project Life in a 12x12 with weekly spreads, same format I've used for years. I have completed through mid-March but I'm not worried about falling behind. I've been doing this project for so long it comes together more easily than other scrapbooking projects, so I tend to save it for when I'm feeling less creative and then work on traditional spreads or other projects when I'm feeling more inspired. I also simplify the process by using design formulas + working with kits. ETA: I also add an entry daily into the Day One app as part of my morning planning process (I journal about the day before) so I'm not worried about forgetting details.
I am sharing my pages as I complete them over on my instagram and this year I am trying to share more process videos on IGTV, so I have a few over there from my project life (although not every week). Creating a process video definitely slows the process a bit (not the actual crafting, other than having to time it with the daylight, but the editing afterwards pretty much doubles the time it takes to create a spread). Now that I'm putting more time into regular videos I'm considering making a youtube also but that is probably going to be a project for a few months from now. If anyone is interested, though, my instagram is @lindalovescreating.

Is your PC a desktop or laptop? Adding RAM may be relatively inexpensive. Photoshop is a RAM hog, especially with 6+ photos, a template and embellishments all open. What happened to your MacBook? My PCis an old desktop. I don't really want to spend any money on it, but I think I'm going to have to. I am working on an old version of Photoshop (2018) because 4gb is not enough to run the newer versions. I am really missing a lot of the cool functions in the 2021 version, and I'm missing Light Room. I killed my MacBook by dropping something on it, killed her DEAD.

Doing ok with 2021, I’m caught up through mid-March in my 12x12 physical product album. I use mostly PL Core kits for my background cards and this has really helped to speed up the process, and I was happy to find a bunch of them for $6.99 at TM before the pandemic. I do embellish the PL cards and don’t care about the rounded corners, so it works well for me. I do make an occasional card but like the ease of the core kits. I’m catching up on my neglected 2019 album, I have it completed through May.

Anyone else have those spreads that just do not want to come together? The spread I'm working on for the 1st full of week of March has been on my desk for a week. I just can't make up my mind on embellishments and where to put things but at this point it's getting a little ridiculous. I'll never get caught up at this rate.
