I was eagerly waiting for the upcoming SCT event list for the fall and now it's out and I don't know what to do.
Hoping peas can share some experiences or impressions!
1. virtual - that's OK by me - save the cost and drive of going into the city, open it up to bigger name instructors.
2. instructors - they're all OK by me. I would love to take the one in June that has Shimelle included but it's much more expensive!
3. kit - ALL products are included. I assume there are extras? But how much of the price tag is included? For example, the June event is $395 cdn (ack) but if that includes $250 worth of supplies I'm more willing to look again.
4. the flip side of kits - am I going to end up with duplicates out my yin-yang. I bought all the new Vicki B stuff. I bought the parts of the new Paige Evans Wonder collection that I liked. OR - am I going to end up with supplies I don't like? I guess I'm mainly looking at my money and wondering if I should save it to buy supplies at my leisure instead of a pre-curated package???
Is anyone else looking at the fall events? What do you think of the cost?

The girls who did the card crop and the layout one a few weeks ago said that they were more than worth it. Im looking at the card one in October. Hard to shell out almost $300 CAD without seeing samples or the dies/stamps ahead of time to know if it is my style/I will use them again. However, I am telling myself it is also about the techniques I will be learning.

The June 2021 event is sold out. The fall events will be brand new products and the product for the card event is exclusive product created for the event so there is little chance of duplication with items in your stash.

I'm intrested in the card one in October. I like all the stamp companies who are providing the stamps and etc. I know that the peas who joined one earlier this year loved it.

I think the June event is sold out but has a waiting list in case people cancel.
I have been happy with the amount of product I got for Crop & Create. I will try and describe what we got with the last scrapbook event. Vicki Boutin did a complete 6x8 mini album. She doesn't use her own products for these classes (or at least hasn't yet.) Jess Forrester did a whole year in review 12x12 pocket page set up. We got 14 page protectors and an entire collection kit plus thickers and die cuts. Virginia did a collection crush class where we made 7 layouts (3 doubles and a single) to use up an entire Simple Stories collection with thickers and diecuts and enamel dots. Megan Andrew did a single page and a double page that demonstrated different types of balance. We also got more stuff for make and takes and giveaways: a travelers notebook, two tri-blend markers, a 6x6 paper pad, a Creative Memories small storage thing. I'm sure there's more. I wish I took a picture. I will share my layouts as I finish them.
As for fall, I'm thinking of taking the card class and the holiday one. I struggle a bit finding photos to work with layouts made to someone else's design. You definitely get your money's worth in stuff. It just might not all be your style or you might own something already. I did get a Hero Arts stamp and die that I had already purchased in the card class but I regifted it to a friend.
It's also a jam packed weekend where you might not have time to finish everything, but you can rewatch videos and they give excellent written instructions.
I hope this is helpful information.

After drooling over justjac’s crop box from this month, I am really tempted to sign up for the scrapbook event in the fall plus the holiday event. They said in the email that there were payment options for registrations as well. One additional perk for me was they said the videos would be accessible on YouTube at any time after the event, so no trying to cram it all in at once.

I will be signing up for the SCT scrapbooking and holiday events in November. I'm also signed up for the June event (I got in through the waitlist a few months ago). I "attended" the virtual event they put on last November. I did not attend last weekend's scrapbooking event. I feel like the value is there. The boxes are packed FULL of product! I had SO much leftovers. The mini album we made is packed full of pages! I was amazed we got through the entire book within the 3 hour class. The "attendee kit" (which is just as packed as the class kits) included instructions for additional layouts, and then so much leftover product! I'm still working my way through the leftovers of last November's classes. I appreciate that the kits aren't JUST American Crafts brands. They do a good job at spreading out the manufacturers used throughout the event. They give away a lot of prizes and the created community is really great. I like (most) of the instructors, so that helps, too.

This intrigues me especially since our annual retreat was canceled last year due to Covid and then the site burned to ground so I don’t know when we will have it again. Might be a fun alternative. How fast do they sell out?

How fast do they sell out? I think every time they have had to shorten the period of time they are selling tickets because they get close to selling out before the end of the buying window. I think I read last time they stopped selling tickets 8 days early. They give notice they were closing the buying window early so people can get in if they want. They encourage people not to wait as it does sell out. I'm not sure if they are sticking to the same numbers as before (1,200 people) or will try to add more "seats". It is a fun alternative.

Thank you, I will try to sign up as soon as it is available to me, but I am worried it might sell out to returnees since they basically closed it last time the day it opened to the public.

Okay, potential enabling ahead lol
Just watched an unboxing of the April Crop & Create Delivered and added everything up $$$$. The class looks like it was $249 cad/$210 usd + $28 in shipping fees.
Mainly going by scrapbook.com's pricing because it's easiest, I came out with $273.40 usd -- not including a tn, 6x8 paper pad, exclusive photoplay sheet, loose cardstock papers, 12x12 page protectors, and popcorn.. because well, it's popcorn lol.
Even though I'd never buy a lot of the items at full sb.com pricing, I'm really thinking about signing up for that weekend in November.

OK - I've decided - I'm going to sign up and they will be my Birthday present. My birthday is in December and my DH will be glad not to have to worry about it, I'm sure I am going to do the CARD class, because I'm always complaining about making cards because they are hard! The description sounds awesome. And I think I'll do the regular scrapbook one too. YAY! Now I just need to remember to register May 6

I did the cardmaking one and it was 100% worth it. I learned lots of techniques, received amazing product, and it was fun. Plus if they start going too fast I don’t have to complete the card live but I have the videos forever. The instructors were fantastic. In my opinion it was very worth it and I’m signing up as an alumni for the fall card retreat. I love all the manufacturers and the teachers. By the way, if you put in crop and create on you tube you can see some unboxing videos.

I participated in both the November Crop & Create Delivered as well as the one last weekend. justjac and jenna did a great job explaining the value. Some people have expressed concern that the style of the products may not match their style. I have been very pleased with what I have received. Here are the class products included in the April event. (This doesn't include the attendee kit and all the freebies we received. By the way, the box weighed 10 pounds in November and 11 pounds in April.) Meghann's class: Reaching Out by Jen Hadfield pattern paper x 8, cardstock stickers, phrase ephemera, icon ephemera, white cardstock x 4, blush cardstock, mint cardstock, hearts & arrows wood veneer, CTMH sequin assortment, "Navy" Thickers Vicki's class: SNAP 6x8 album, Maggie Holmes Garden Party paper x 6, GP vellum, GP ephemera, GP Thickers, Heidi Swapp Carefree paper x 4, Carefree ephemera, cardstock x 2 Jess's class: Simple Stories Hello Today collection pack, HT journaling spots, HT bits + pieces, HT enamel dots, HT foam Thickers, white cardstock x 4, "Goodness" Thickers, Project Life page protectors x 14 Virginia's class: Carta Bella Summer Day collection kit, ephemera, enamel dots, cardstock x 6, "Follow" Thickers

Just filled out their Google form. Hoping I did everything right. Choosing PayPal did not immediately bring up the PP site, so now I am second guessing. Waiting for an email response from either SCT or PP.

Waiting for an email response from either SCT or PP. They will invoice you within the next 14 days from Paypal. My guess is they will manually process the Google forms, first verifying alumni status, then processing whichever payment method invoice. So no worries, you were not expected to pay today. ETA: From the Google Form: "*** Please pay special attention to the payment section. No payment is required today. Invoices will be sent out within 14 days. At this time, we ask that you not email us about the status of your invoice. ***"

I'm so excited for this lol. The past few days I've been watching videos of people going through the things they've previously made and how much fun they thought it was. I'm excited to use products that I wouldn't normally buy for myself. Time to set an alarm for 5pm on Thursday so I remember and I need to decide whether I want to do just the November papercrafting event or both that and the Holiday one. I love Jess' work but I'm iffy on cards and don't know if I'd get much out of it.. and then if I wanna pay for everything at once or spend the extra couple bucks to spread it out.

That's a lot of money. Pulled the trigger since DH was sitting with me to hold my hand (I kept backing out...) and kept saying, "You've never done anything like this" and reminding me that he'd spent lots of $$ this year on his hobby. So, cards and layouts for me! I chose e-transfer, since that way they won't have to pay the business fee on the paypal

I think mine will be cancelled since it was done early, I am going to sign up again tonight. I don't know why they don't have some sort of block so people who aren't alumni can't sign up.
