This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

It seems that time is just flying since school let out. I hope you each have some fun plans for the rest of the summer.
Getting back on the Teams has given me back my mojo so I hope it continues with July also. I have a whole box of photos to scrap but I am such a Pokey Pea and can't make up my mind very fast. I'd love to be able to turn out a page a day, but that doesn't work for me.
Happy July 4th Weekend for all the U.S. peas. We don't have any plans and fireworks are banned. It will be a quiet 4th.

Thank you nyleneOur area is doing fireworks on the 3rd but I have my doubts about it not being rained out. I'll do a charcuterie board and Texas sheet cake on the 3rd and then we'll do hamburgers/hotdogs, salads, and DD21 will make trifle on the 4th. Dh and the older 2 are driving into the city tomorrow to the Lego store and Ikea so I should get some scrapping time in. Hoping to make it to the zoo on Friday or Monday. We're having a car towed to the dealership in the city tomorrow (the closest authorised mechanic is there - nearly 2 hrs away - something we should have thought about before buying a Mini Cooper - this is the second time we've had to have it towed) and we'll go to the zoo when it's ready to be picked up.

Thanks for the new thread, nylene . Our province is completely opening up as of July 1st. Since that is Canada Day, a number of communities are scrambling to put together events. At the last minute our town announced a pancake breakfast and a short parade. Dh does not plan to go. He is exhausted from haying all week, and I think a little nervous about mingling in crowds. Dd and family just got their RV set up at the lake this afternoon and looking forward to just sitting there, enjoying the campground, not having to go anywhere for a few days. Not sure what I will do. Leaving off the sausages and no butter on my pancakes does not leave me much of an appealing breakfast, but I do need groceries, so may go in for a bit to see what is going on. Hate to see volunteers working so hard to not have people appreciate it. But after all the driving, having dd & family here, and then going out to the lake to deliver dgs after his parents had a chance to get the RV settled in, I am pretty tired myself. The heat doesn't help. Can hardly keep my eyes open tonight. Linda , I just read about Silver. So sad. Do you think there is a feline disease in that area that has that effect on cats? With two strays being affected by similar symptoms it has me wondering--and hoping that your resident cats are immune. Your poor dd. She must be devastated.
Oh. Happy update. Dgd's surgery was a complete success. All of the cyst was removed and it was benign. She is already at home, and doing well, even with bone grafting and pins in her spine.

I have kept myself a little busy and my vacation is over. I return to work Thursday night. I am not sure I am really ready for the craziness of the hospital. Covid numbers are still up and staffing isn't good. nylene, I am still waiting on the garage door. They have given me a date of July 27th. I am guessing it may be August before this gets done. They are still trying to either get this company EPA certified or find a company that is. They don't want to remove the garage door because of possible lead since I can't prove it was installed after 1978. I guess they have one more month to get this figured out. I did get my siding installed while on vacation and it looks great! Having the garage door installed will make it look more finished. I have been making my lunch for the next 3 nights for work. I should get some sleep.

Silver was the kitty we adopted and lost in April - I had done a layout about her and Nylene had asked what happened. Dusty (the new kitten) is doing fine - and getting bigger and more adventurous. He learned to play this week.

grammadee - wonderful news about your granddaughter. Prayers for an easy and full recovery. Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian Pokies! knutschen - I hope the door is dealt with soon. We're still waiting on our garage - the concrete was done in early May but there have been supply issues and the garage keeps being delayed. It's so frustrating because you want it just to be done. Sorry the vacation is almost over - I hope the return to work is smoother than anticipated. MARIBETHR - loving your qutes - thank you DH and the older two just left - I don't expect them home until dinnertime. DD14 is still sleeping. She has her last algebra test today and some research for her final English paper but that's it school-wise. She's cooking tonight which'll be a nice break for me - chilli and cornbread.

Linda, I did the same thing as grammadee, I saw Silver and thought of Dusty. I am so glad to know that you haven't lost another kitty. Your photos of her are beautiful. Your 4th preparations sound like fun. We don't really have any plans so far. knutschen, I was afraid you were still waiting on that door. I hope they can get EPA certified and just get it done for you. I would love to see how the siding looks. That can really perk up a house. I'm sorry you have to return to work with the Covid numbers high. Take good care of yourself! MARIBETHR, thanks for the quotes. I love seeing your photo pop up too. grammadee, justjac and kitbop, I hope you have a fun and relaxing Canada Day. You have all had a lot going lately! We start back to Church on Sunday. I have enjoyed the broadcast meetings and am a bit apprehensive about being in such close contact with lots of people who refuse to be vaccinated. I will be teaching 7 year-olds in a tiny little room with no window or ventilation. I know I am vaxed and should be safe, but I worry about everyone else there. No one is wearing masks. Our state is still having 500 new cases a day.

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are having a good first day of July! I have a virtual art class tonight. I started it earlier this year. I missed several weeks but started attending more recently. I found it on Meet Up and it is pretty good. Also, editing my new YT video for tomorrow. It is about a slimline card and envelop die set I got from Amazon. nylene- Thanks for the new thread! I am glad to hear your church is opening up and I hope you will feel safer once you get there. grammadee- Oh, I am glad to hear your area is open now. What a relief it is. Also, glad your dgd is doing well. Waving hello to you sweet peas and have a good rest of this day!

kellyr21, I love your card and will watch your video in the morning. That looks like a great die set. I hope you enjoyed your class this evening. grammadee, I am so happy to hear that your DGD is doing well post-surgery. So grateful that it was benign and that they could take care of it without interfering with the nerves in her spine. I hope she recovers quickly and is able to do the things she wants this summer. Is she the one who just graduated? Sending prayers for a satisfactory recovery. Do you think they are ever going to let you get rid of that gallbladder? I'm sorry you have to alter your "holiday" meals to appease it. I'm sure you'd like to have it gone.

Good Morning Pokey's! Happy belated Canada Day and Happy early 4th! lol. I had started to post here last night but nosy Abby walked across the keyboard and deleted that lol. grammadee enjoy your family this weekend! We have various fireworks shows going on around here, but I'm staying in. So happy your area has opened up! And the BEST news is about your DGD so glad her surgery went well! nylene I totally understand your trepidation about being back to church. No one here is wearing a mask anymore, except a few (me included) and now I get looks for wearing one lol. Linda that's great that Dusty is doing so well. He's cutie. I sometimes wish Abby wasn't such a BIG cat lol She's cuddly though and I do love that. knutschen you are in MO right? Where we lead the nation in the Delta variant strain? I'm being tested this morning. I have had what I thought was a cold, my DS1 jokingly said maybe I have Delta and when I looked into it - I have all the symptoms. I'm so ticked off about it!! I've been fully vaccinated a couple of months now, have gone without a mask only 3 times and yeah, very ticked! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's just a cold, but not holding out hope. It's a good thing I had already planned for a quiet weekend with no people around lol. I have plans to scrap with my mom and niece today. I'm going to plan some page kits - some for We Create and some to use this month. Hopefully that will keep me scrapping all month. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oh joyfulnana, I hope your test is negative, and, either way that you recover quickly! Our province has opened up, but I have continued to mask in stores. All the staff were still masked at the local grocery store. Heard a clerk telling a customer that the policy was for staff to wear masks but leave decision for customers to the individuals.

grammadee I am consoling myself with the fact that I AM fully vaxxed and probably won't die lol. It took about 2 weeks before nearly everyone here dropped the masks. Mask wearers are a definite minority here now. Honestly, I just feel like I have a horrible cold. I'm taking lots of cold meds, have my comfort junk foods here and can still get things done. I know it could definitely be worse!

((((Hugs))) and prayers joyfulnana - i hope you're feeling better soon and your test is negative. I'm still masking here and mask mandates are illegal in my state (which is a whole 'nother issue - I hate our governor). Dusty is fun but I keep losing him - he's so small and he doesn't respond to his name and only vocalises if he's hungry or needs the litterbox so he's hard to find. kellyr21 - I hope you enjoyed the online class Hi everyone

joyfulnana , I am sorry you are sick. I hope your test comes back negative and that there is something they can do to make you feel better. Today was the first day I went to the grocery store with my mask in my pocket, not on my face. Their sign said only those who aren't vaccinated need to wear masks. I saw no masks inside. Those who are anti-vaxers are also anti-maskers, so of course there were no masks. Ugh! The Delta variant is worrying me.

Happy 4th of July, Pokeys! Hope it is as fun or as relaxing as you want it to be. We plan to head out to the lake later to have supper with dd & family. Dh has left to cut hay, and I have a few things to prepare to take with us, but I might actually SCRAP today. I started to put together a page kit in case I have time to kill waiting for my vehicle on Wednesday, even spent some time sorting through and organizing my "Summer" drawer and my "Little Boy" bin, but now that I have the papers chosen, I want to Just. Do. It. and put the LO together. joyfulnana , I hope you are feeling better. My sinuses are not happy this time of year. I have an allergy to poplar, and while I can't see the fluff flying around our yard, I think the finer pollen must be out in full force. Ironically, this house is SURROUNDED by poplar trees...

Good Morning! So far no test results - I did not opt for the rapid test and since it's a holiday weekend I will probably have to wait until Tuesday to get the results. But I'm feeling better and better as time goes on which makes me think it's a cold. But where in the heck would I get a cold?! LOL. It was nice never being sick last year. I'm batch planning some page kits today so that maybe, just maybe I will scrap this month. Enjoy your family time grammadee it sounds fun!

Sorry about the pollen. joyfulnana - glad you're on the mend - hopefully your mojo comes back and you have time/energy for scrapping The 3 kids and I went to the local fireworks last night - well, more accurately, we parked near the local fireworks where we had a good view but weren't in the midst of the crowds.

Oh my, joyfulnana - I haven't checked in here and look what I missed I'm sure it's nothing, but I'm sure sorry you were under the weather! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all the US Peas!!! And have a really nice day off tomorrow as well. It seems so strange to hear of places without masks. We're still locked down - no hair cuts - no gyms - and we are right grumpy about it. We've gone from zero carefulness (when Toronto numbers were skyrocketing and it was a disaster) to over protectiveness (ONLY of my little region, which doesn't include Toronto, because hey, that's not where politicians live or play). BUT I'm being told that I can travel internationally starting tomorrow. Think I'll just head down south. Who wants company? I'm double vaxxed grammadee - have a great supper on the lake! Wow does that sound enticing. Maybe I'll just come to Alberta Linda - I just finished a layout I called "gritty kitty" because our kitty was a) overly brave/confident and b) covered in filth. You need to do a layout about Dusty and call it "flitty kitty"

Happy Monday, Pokeys! Good news, joyfulnana. And I hope you feel better soon. Since you are scrapping today, I am assuming you are enjoying a long weekend? Hope you have a fun relaxing day! Speaking of scrapping, I can't believe how many pages you have already completed this month, Linda! Leave you at home by yourself for a day and you are DANGEROUS ! How is Dusty? If he doesn't respond to calling, do you think he is deaf? We had a deaf Mama cat once who couldn't hear her babies crying. In a strange dynamic, her sister--who also had a litter--stole all but one of those kittens and took them to her own nest to care for. The deaf mama raised the one kitten, but we remember that she sometimes would lie on him and didn't seem to hear him yowling. Didn't affect his health any: he survived and lived here for 17 years! Any time he did something not-too-smart, we said that it was because his mama sat on him as a kitten. I hope your area opens up safely soon, kitbop. I am still a little skeptical about our sudden Open for Summer. We DID have alot of people get their first doses of vaccine: the gov't said they would open up only after 70% had their first shot. And our numbers ARE really down. But I know people are not going in for testing unless they are desperately ill. Several people have told me "I had it. I know I did cuz I had cold symptoms and then so-and-so went for a test and THEY were positive, so thinking I was, too." And there are no restrictions on people who did NOT get the vaccine, whether they are here already, or coming from somewhere else. As nylene says, the anti vaxers are also the anti maskers, so I guess we hope for the best. How was the virtual art class, kellyr21? Sounds fun. justjac is coming here on Saturday for a kit class with Elizabeth Craft Designs. We will be working on mini albums with a cool jar die set. After a week of crazy hot weather, it cooled off yesterday, so although it was fun hanging out at the campsite, we didn't even go down to the water. The plan had been for Mom & Dad to go for a peaceful kayak trip while we watched dgs on the beach, but that didn't happen. Spent the time around the fire. Took some fun photos of Ladder Golf play. Today I plan to take advantage of cooler temps to get after the weeds in the garden. Still no rain, but the sprinkler is set up to start when I am done that one area. But first, just one more cup of coffee...

grammadee - Dusty seems to respond to sounds (bells in the toys) so I think he just doesn't recognise his name yet. I need to weed also before the rain starts up again. joyfulnana - yay for negative results. Hope you're feeling better. Glad to hear your mojo is returning. kitbop - hope you get less restrictions soon - I wish ours was more restricted. Only 30% vaccinated and no one has been wearing masks (well, we are but....) The older two went out for the day and DH isn't feeling well so I suspect once school is done and chores caught up I'll be back in the scraproom.

Hooray, joyfulnana, on your negative test results. I'm sorry you are feeling under the weather, though. My allergies are driving me nuts right now. My nose is a faucet! I have a couple of grandchildren who also have colds and their mom can't figure out where they got the germs. She has been so vigilant in disinfecting everything, all the time. I'm glad you have your mojo back. Going through supplies often gets me going again too. Can't wait to see what you create! MARIBETHR, are you enjoying your 4 days at home? I hope you got to do some scrafty stuff and are just enjoying being home. Are you through RVing for the summer? You made so many cute journaling pages last month. I love all your adorable paper dolls. How are your temperatures right now? We have cooled off to low 90's. kellyr21, I watched your video and love that die set. I think you are an enabler! Thanks for sharing your talents by video. I am really enjoying them. I love watching you in person! Linda, we didn't even watch fireworks last night. We went to bed early and although they awakened me, I couldn't make myself get up to watch. I think we are becoming "old fogies". Glad you got to watch some. BTW, congrats on so many layouts already this month. You are really on a roll!! grammadee, Your family get-together sounds so peaceful. How far is the campsite from where you live? I am so happy that your area is opening up, but like you, I am a bit apprehensive. Our numbers are climbing and the new variant could be deadly for those not vaccinated. I read that the CDC says those with natural immunity are not immune to the Delta strain. That means all those people who "assume" they had the disease and are now safe may not be from the Delta variant. kitbop, it was nice seeing you and gramma Online this weekend. I hope your area gets more vaccinations so you can be more open. This is such a strange time when you can't go anywhere without masks but you can travel internationally. Do you think maybe that's why it's spreading??? My brother does a lot of international travel and has been kept in the states for the last year, but they are sending him out again. (He's vaccinated) How is Katie's foot doing? I hope it is healing. Off to get something done. My kitchen needs some loving care.
