grammadee - old enough that mama wasn't around thankfully! I feel such empathy for that poor scared child but give him a year and your dogs hopefully won't be so enthusiastically barking at him The reason I took the photo from so far away is, I was not sure if/when Mama may show up. Glad the little guy got down safely (but wish I could have seen it to take a photo...) Hoping as he grows bigger that he will just keep this yard in his mind as "where those annoying dogs live", and give it a wide berth.

grammadee, what an experience. So glad the mama bear was not around and that the bear was too small to want to go after your dogs. I love the photo you took. How often do you see bears around your area? kitbop, how fun to raise Monarch Butterflies. I used to go out early and search through the milkweed on the way to school when I taught in Idaho. I could usually find a few little caterpillars. We watched them hatch and fly around my classroom. Unfortunately, they often hatched over a weekend, but we would come back on Monday to see them flying around the room. The children thought it was such a miracle. I loved it. kellyr21, I can't believe this is the anniversary of your YouTube channel. You know how much Cindy would have loved to see you doing this!! I'm glad you are not as hot as we are right now. This is such a weird year for weather. (and everything else) Take care and keep cool. The dies I ordered will be here by Monday. We aren't on the Amazon Prime, so it's not immediate. Linda, I am enjoying all the pages you are getting done. You use so many different ideas for background and embellishments. Because I scrap that smaller size, I find myself doing the same thing over and over. I've been saving some of your ideas for photo placements. You are a Speedy Pokey Pea!

nylene - thank you. I've been struggling lately because it seemed like all my pages for a while had 2 vertical photos and there's really only so many ways to arrange them on a 8.5x11 page as you know. I do google for sketches often and then adapt (since they are usually 12x12). I'm currently lacking inspiration for the layout in progress - it's been on my desk for 2 days so far.

I am sure you will get those pages sorted out to your satisfaction, Linda. Sometimes I just have to tell myself "This LO is DONE!" and leave it at that. But often having it sit on my scrap counter for a couple of days will give me a chance to come up with something that works better than the original plan. I am off for a day of scrapping. Have my GO-bag packed with a couple of kits I put together, my latest photos, tools, and some extra supplies. My vehicle is booked for the re-call procedure. justjac has promised to pick me up at the dealership, and we will head to the LSS for the day. If I get a chance, I hope to print some photos at WM. Have some great lake photos dd and dsil have sent me, and from our little birthday celebration for her at the trailer yesterday. I am stopping off to stay the night at dd & family's holiday trailer at the lake, then will bring dgs home to the farm while the parents batten down the hatches before they haul the trailer here. TTYL!

grammadee, your scrappy day with justjac sounds wonderful. Your DGS will be so happy to go home with you. I hope that bear has gone far away. Linda, I have been taking some of my many albums downstairs to a closet shelf since mine is full. As I open them to look I have liked some of my old, old designs and am planning to recreate them rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. They will look new to me since they are from years ago. MARIBETHR, how are you doing with the courthouse project? I drove past our beautiful courthouse yesterday and would have stopped for a photo, but it's a long walk from where I could park to the front of the building and it was 98 degrees outside. I also had a Chocolate Cream pie in my car that I picked up for DH to give the friend who drives him to work. I knew it wouldn't fare well in that heat. I will get the photo taken and get it to you the next time I am in town.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a good day! We went to the park concert last night. We weren't lucky enough to get a great parking spot like last week but the walk through the picturesque neighborhood did us good. They had a retro band that did soul, Latin and pop songs from the decades. It was fun and relaxing! We have three more nights and it always goes too fast! I got some scrapbooking to do about these concerts. Thanks for the YT congrats! I have loved making these videos and glad this dream came true. nylene - I hope you enjoy the die. I want to make more envelopes with it, soon. Yes, our sweet friend would of been excited to see what I am up to these days. I miss her, too. joyfulnana - Just waving hi to ya and sending you a smile! kitbop - Wow, you are growing butterflies! I have not heard of this. When will they "Bloom"? It reminds me of the big butterfly migration we had a couple of years ago here on California. That was one of the coolest things to see. Have a good evening all!

nylene - I find that the same basic layout with different papers/embellishments looks fresh...unless it's right next to the original in the albums. I definitely re-use sketches and other designs. I did finally get the two birthday layouts done. I always struggle with birthday photos for some reason. kellyr21 - another concert - how awesome!

I have not gotten as many pages done this month as I had hoped, mostly due to the fact that I am still working on completing kits that I have purchased, and those are mostly card kits. Also there is the Card Maker Success Summit happing Jul 14- Jul 18 on Facebook. So more cards - LOL. But I chip away at all the photos of courthouses when I can. I am glad you didn't stop, Chocolate Cream pie is my favorite pie - SAVE THE PIE. Have an awesome day!

Happy Saturday! I got my second shot today and it is going well so far. Just tired! I've been shopping lately for card and scrap supplies. I goe a cute mini envelope die set and supplies for earrings and bracelet making. It is fun to play around with other crafts. So I will share how the jewelry turned out. linda- You little "helper" is doing a fine job! Love seeing your fur baby layouts. Yes, our park is having the free concerts every Wednesday until mid-August. So fun and relaxing. Here are my latest TN pages. The second one is scraplifted from KikiPea new design team layout she shared. So pretty and I had to try it. FUN TN Page by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Floral TN Page by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

Good evening pokeys! After a busy day, I'm finally ready to sit down and ignore most of the housework nylene - pie first, always It's just too bad it wasn't for you! kellyr21 - those are gorgeous TN layouts - I just love that pic of you and your DH and the colours and flowers are WOW! Linda - kittens are too sweet. Isn't it too bad they grow up and still want to lie on our scrapbook stuff but leave hair and disaster because they are big?

Quick check in after a busy few days. Thursday morning I took my vehicle in to the dealer. justjac picked me up and we had a great day scrapping at the LSS. Used a couple of the kits I put together for joyfulnana's kit challenge. Mid day we went for lunch and I phoned the dealer to check progress on the repair and was told that they would need my vehicle in the shop UNTIL AT LEAST NOON THE NEXT DAY!!! Any other day, I may have crashed at justjac's, but I had promised my dgs that I would spend the night at their holiday trailer. I told the service centre clerk that I needed a vehicle for the night, so they arranged for me to have a new F150 to take home: one their demo's. I took that to the lake and to run dgs to the farm the next day. (Shhh... also hauled some firewood and extra camping supplies). When the shop confirmed my vehicle was ready, dgs and I left to make the round trip to drop off the truck and pick up my suv. We actually had a fun road trip, but from start to return it took about 3 1/2 hours. I had started supper before we left and by the time we returned dd had it all ready to serve. Dd & family spent the night and most of today here, but they are now back at home and I am thinking it will be an early night for me. besides being tired from all the driving and grandparenting, the air quality here is TERRIBLE. Smoke from BC blew in over night and I can smell it everywhere--in the house and out. The only crafty thing I did today was clear off my scrap counters: I hope to do a little scrapping tomorrow. Have a layered diecut that gramma sent me and a couple of photos that will work perfectly with it. What a sweet helper you have, Linda! Thanks for sharing the photos. You Pokeys have been busy! Left love in the Gallery for kitbop and nylene and kellyr21 and justjac. Have a couple of LO's to share, but need some better light to photograph them.

kellyr21 - yay for the second shot - hopefully tiredness is the only side effect you get. I love the TN pages! kitbop - good for you taking some "me-time" instead of housework after a busy day grammadee - wow what a busy end of the week for you! Glad that you got some scrappy time in there and family time. Hopefully the smoke blows away soon. Yesterday DH got a ride into the city to pick up the Mini Cooper - it's spent two weeks at the garage for repairs. It's the cutest little car but the dealership is nearly 2 hours away and no one closer is certified to work on it and $$$. I stayed home - did housework and scrapped (with my smallest helper). We had a family game night with Qbitz and enjoyed part of a Yums box from Spain. Today DH took the girls to horseback riding at 7am (they left at 630 - lucky them). I had hoped to sleep in but Dusty was wide awake and ready to play so...that didn't happen. Yardwork today and hopefully some more scrapping, I think. And the BIG news- DD14 turned in her final school assignments yesterday and I'm DONE homeschooling. Just waiting on one grade and then I can order her transcript and enroll her in high school here for August.

Hello! You have all been so busy having fun and I love "hearing" about it Linda Hooray for homeschooling being DONE! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with DS and it must be hard to see him leave again. All the game nights sound so cozy. And I love that little kitty! I sometimes wish Abby wasn't so grumpy because I would love to get her a younger buddy. Even if the shelter hadn't said she needed to be the only pet, just in getting to know her these last few months, it's pretty obvious she would hate having another cat around trying to force her to I don't know *PLAY* maybe? LOL. Dusty's a cutie and I love those pics of him "helping" lol. Abby doesn't try to help, she mostly wants me to stop and pay all my attention to her. She plops right down in the middle of whatever I'm doing for pets lol. grammadee oh my goodness! A cub! I would have freaked right out lol. But what an afternoon! I wish I had an irl friend nearby that scrapped. You and justjac look like you have so much fun together. justjac has the podcast aired? I think I'm going to sub for a bit at least so I can hear your episode! kellyr21 sending you a smile and a wave right back! The summer concerts sound amazing. I'm sure we probably have something like that here as well, I need to check that out! How's the art class going? Are you still enjoying it? I love your bright colorful TN spreads! Reading through this thread has made me realize how much I miss all of you ladies and how much I've missed cropping with you! Even though next weekend is a Rudy weekend, I think I'll try to claim Saturday night for myself and host a crop. That's the only way I'll get anything done. I've been playing around with the half and half class, but not liking the results on it. But that's pretty normal, I'm never happy about so many of my pages lol. I'm finally over that cold/covid - whatever it was. I'm still not convinced it wasn't covid even with the negative test. No one else caught this thing, not even Rudy when he was here nearly the entire weekend. I've read if your fully vaxxed and get covid the viral load is so low you really aren't contagious to anyone. That's the only way I can make this make sense to me lol. But whatever it was I'm glad to be over it! Work is still busy and still draining, but I'm hopeful things will slow soon as the kids go back to school. And I'll have more mojo and feel more sociable lol. kitbop I can somehow picture your angst at counting those tiny eggs and it's awesome that you are raising butterflies! I hope you all have a relaxing Sunday! Waving Hi to ya'll!

Linda , LOL at Dusty helping out with your scrapping. Now if he were to crawl around in my shelves he would earn his name! and probably do a lot of sneezing! Your family games nights makes me miss having my family around. All who are local are gathering at oldest DD's home next Sunday for baby Eddie's blessing. It will the first time that many of us have been able to gather since the pandemic. joyfulnana , I am so glad you are doing better. When we haven't seen you at the crops I have been worrying about whether the covid/flu/whatever had become worse. I hope you have fun with Rudy next weekend, but I also hope you can take some "me time" to rest and feel better. kellyr21 , I love your new TN pages. I especially love the upbeat feeling of your 2nd page. You have had a lot of depressing events this year and you deserve to be uplifted. I'm glad you are attending the concerts. That has to be an uplift. My dies arrived, but I haven't had time to play with them. I hope you aren't having side effects from your 2nd shot. Congrats on getting it. grammadee , it sounds like you need to take a little "me time" too. You have had a busy weekend. I'm glad they had a truck you could use so that your DGS didn't have to be disappointed. Have a restful week! We are tending 3 cats for our neighbors. They are taking their 95 year old father/grandfather to San Diego to tour through the Midway aircraft carrier. They stayed in Las Vegas and woke up to their car having been broken into, and everything stolen. The thieves ruined the ignition trying to hotwire it, so it isn't drivable. They called all the neighbors trying to reach us, but we, and most everyone else were at the funeral of another sweet 92 year old neighbor. They finally reached one family and were told they were right then in Las Vegas and were on their way to take them to a rental place. This family took charge of them until they were checked out of the hotel, car rented, and on their way to San Diego. What a tender mercy that was. The mother, Cindy, is a widow who looks after her widowed father and has 2 adult children. She has worked 16 hour days as a nurse all through the pandemic. They really need this getaway.

Disappointed in myself for not getting more done this weekend. I just could not get in the creative grove. I did however spend 8 hours 8-4 on Sunday cataloging my dies so that I know what I have and can easily find them and use them. I also completed this set of ATC's. Hopefully next weekend I can been of my game and earn some good points for my team.
Have an awesome day Pokey's

nylene - I'm treasuring the family nights while I can - my nest is emptying. DD21 moves out in less than 6 months and DD14 starts high school in August. I'm glad there will be a family gettogether to celebrate baby Eddie. It's so nice of you to watch the kitties for your neighbours. What a time they've had of it. I hope their 'adventures' are over and the rest of their time is more relaxing. MARIBETHR - well done cataloguing your dies - that'll be helpful I'm sure. Housework, gardening, and more scrapping on my list for today...and apparently running laps around the house after a zoom-y little grey kitten who has lots of energy and has been running in circles through the house.

MARIBETHR , those ATC's are wonderful. Left love on Flickr for them and alot of other cards. Don't stress about points, but DO know there are points to be claimed for organizing your dies.
You have instilled family togetherness in your children, Linda. So great that your dd wants to move in with your ds, and that he is happy to have her do that. Will he be redeployed or stationed away again? Or is his buying a home a sign that he will be staying where he is for a longer time now? If he does have to leave for a short or longer term, he will have a built in house sitter! joyfulnana , I am glad you are feeling better. And stay better by getting enough rest. A whole day with my 8 year old powerhouse wiped ME out for three LOL! Hope you start a virtual crop on Saturday. Evenings are not my most creative time, but I might drop in just to chat. Would love to see you. That said, I put together another LO from one of my DIY kits last night. Sorry. Forgot to take a photo of the kit. Don't have a photo of the LO either but will do that later today. Slept in this morning. Having my coffee, then off to combat WEEDS...

He has a couple more years for sure where he's at but it's a deployable position so he's likely to have some more short assignments away during that time. He's hoping to pick up a shore duty assignment in the area for his next posting but there's never any guarantees. Yes - having his sister there will make leaving easier - plus he'll be able to get a cat or two with a built-in cat sitter.

MARIBETHR, your ATC's are wonderful. Did you antique those gears or did they come that color? I love the antique papers and images you used behind them. I left love in your gallery. Never worry about points. Linda, 2 of the kitties we are tending are new to us. It's so obvious that one is missing the love and petting of his owners. He tries to be where my hands are so I will pet him. I managed to spill both bowls of water all over the floor as he rubbed up against my hand as I went to set them down. I don't know whether to just sit down and pet him for a while or whether I will just be encouraging him. He is in the way when I am trying to open his cat food. Silly cat! grammadee, I think you deserve a rest! As much as we adore the grands, they have way more energy than we do! Alex just returned from Michigan yesterday and I expect to see him sometime today. I'm hoping he will help me move some of my scrapbooks downstairs and put all that extra energy to good use. Have a great day all you wonderful Pokeys.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are having a great day. I got through my #2 shot with flying colors. I did feel some soreness in my arm and some tiredness but that was it. So relieved it is all behind me! I got this mini envelope die set and played with it over the weekend. I saw a card I want to make with them this week and can't wait to see how it looks. I also ordered a tag die set and looking forward to seeing how it goes. linda- Congrats on finishing homeschooling!!! Also, horseback riding sounds so fun! I had a pony when I was younger and her name was Suzy. I didn't have her for too long because I out grew her! LOL! I was growing and my legs were so long I could stop her by putting my feet down. LOL! I love horses and would love to ride again. joyfulnana- I am so glad you are feeling better! Yes, my art class is coming along. The teacher is going over the basic and I am enjoying it. I am a self taught artist and I still have lots of beginning things to learn. He suggested that we use a pen instead of a pencil so we won't be so tempted to erase. I was nervous to use a pen but I have tried it and trusting the process. LOL! nylene- I am sending you a hug of friendship and thanking you for your continued support. Yes, this year has been so hard and still is. When I read your last comments I felt like I had a loving witness in you to encourage me to play, relax and enjoy my life. Thank you! This meant a lot! kitbop- How are the butterflies? How long before they transform? So cool!

kellyr21 - yay for few side effects! I'm really glad you got through relatively well. Linda - *congrats* on a successful year of homeschooling at a difficult and important stage! You should be so proud of yourself, especially when you moved in the middle of it. joyfulnana, glad you got "whateverTHATwas" out of your system! I hope you do find some crafty time this weekend - I'm working and I'm not sure if I can continue to neglect the housework like I did this weekend. Dog-hair tumbleweed. nylene - that's really nice of you to cat-sit but I'm so sorry that happened on their trip! and with a 95 year old with them...you just don't need surprises! I've been slacking off on all things that need doing and they are piling up now. The monarch caterpillars grow SO FAST... they grow 2000% in 10-14 days. 2 of our bitty babies are huge 2" caterpillars that are going to be turning into their chrysalises very soon. So you can imagine how much they eat - we're giving them fresh milkweed leaves 2-3 times a day! They stay in their chrysalis form for another 10-14 days before emerging as their beautiful butterfly form. Who will likely lay more eggs on our milkweed... Taking care of all our eggs and caterpillars takes at least an hour of my day, and DH too, so it's more labour intense than one would expect.

nylene - sounds like kitty wants extra love - I'm sure he would enjoy sitting on your lap and getting pets kellyr21 - thanks. My girls are very fortunate - we met another mum/daughter at Girl Scout mum and me camp probably 9 or 10 years ago now and she invited DD21 (who was close in age to her dd) to come and ride to keep her daughter company on the trail rides. DD21 has ridden most weekends since and even gone horse camping with them. DD14 was invited to join in a couple of years ago once she had a summer or two of horse camp under her belt - B. doesn't mind teaching the girls but it's easier if they've ridden some before. So glad that shot #2 went so smoothly for you! kitbop - thank you! the monarchs sounds like a ton of work but so rewarding. We had a painted lady butterfly some years ago - I took the girls to a butterfly farm and we came home with a caterpillar and instructions. It's been another rainy day here so no yard work...I got some of the housework done and then had some more scrappy time.

I got a new tag die set and am gonna make a lo like what kitbop did with the tag borders. That should be fun. Have a good one!

We would have made a good pair today, kellyr21. I went to sleep really quickly, but then woke UP about 3:00 and was awake until about 5:00 before falling back asleep. Woke up at 7:00 and have been groggy all day. Did a little housework and drove to town for groceries and to run a few errands. But otherwise not much accomplished. You have been having alot of fun with your new die sets. I loved that page by kitbop, too, and have been trying to figure out how I could lift it somehow. I don't have the tag dies, but could use my trimmer I think. How wonderful that your dd's have been able to spend time with horses, Linda. What a great friend that scout mum is! I wish you could send some of that rain our way. Everything is really parched. We have been watering the garden, but nothing is thriving the way it could. On the plus side, we have been eating new potatoes for about a week, and also onions, summer turnips, lettuce, peas, and a few tomatoes. Fresh veggies taste SO much better than store bought! We need to be satisfied with eating it fresh, because there is barely enough for that, and little left over to preserve for winter. I need to pick peas tomorrow, and am hoping to pick enough raspberries for dessert for supper. Hoping to put a page or two together Thursday or Friday. Those monarchs seem like alot of work, kitbop, but it sounds like your family really enjoys caring for them and watching them develop. They are such a pretty butterfly. I saw a meme once, nylene, with a photo of a cat lying on top of a book and the caption, "Cats don't read. And they don't want YOU to, either." Sounds like those kitties just want you to sit and spend time with them. If you are not allergic, it can be really relaxing and therapeutic to sit with a purring cat on your lap! Hope your neighbours have a great time for the rest of their trip. What an ordeal they had! Okay. Falling asleep at the keyboard here. Off to bed with me...

I hope both of you sleep better tonight kellyr21 and grammadee. I slept fine but some-kitten is an early riser and likes to play a wee bit earlier that I would prefer - he's quite the alarm clock, pouncing on us and batting at the covers. I would LOVE to send some of the rain your way grammadee (or to nylene) - our extended forecast STILL shows daily rain...I think we've only had 1 or 2 days since early June without rain. We got 20" in June and 9" so far in July. July is usually the wettest month and the average is just under 6". All of my vegetables drowned (those that survived the deer invasion)
