BTW -what WAS I thinking to buy a paper pad with 60 papers 5 each of 15 designs? to do ONE 8x8 DD album? I'm working on the Sunday before Christmas and I haven't even made a dent. I am here to support anyone and everyone in their DD purchasing habits, since I consistently purchase way too much each year and then wonder WTF happened. ^.^ I'm glad the other pages will work for the rest of the year though! This is a statement I'm here for!!! |

Oh my goodness. I went to do some flat-lay photos of our Advent calendars and since the lighting was mediocrely decent, and since I already hauled out the poster board, I decided to snap some pics of my DD album so far. Then I posted 4 days on Instagram. There went an hour of my life. 😵💫 I want to contribute, as I find such joy from other people contributing, but I really have so little patience for it. Eegads. My photos are HEEEEERRRE!!!! I plan on locking myself in my craft cave and ignoring family and (most) responsibilities until it’s done. Which is easy enough to do as 2/5ths of us have Covid and I’m staying away from all of them. It’s the damn season.

theshyone - that's awesome! I'm working on Christmas Eve - but that's going to be multiple layouts (tree, dinner, book exchange, pyjamas) and then I'll have Christmas Day (again multiple layouts) and the week after Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Years Day and Epiphany. Hoping to finish up in the next week though.

I made it to Christmas day in my DD. Couple of 9x12 page protectors and I'll tie it up with yarn and put it on the shelf. Whew!

Had the chance today to work on some DD.
I have 4 pages left to do.
There are 2 blank pages. They are staying blank. I'm calling it good. Or maybe I will just insert an unused foundation page and call it done.
I have realized I am not a "Christmassy" person. While decorating my gingerbread house was "fun" I won't do it again. My chocolate Advent calendar I kept forgetting to open. I had many more "December" "Daily" moments recorded-like a road detour, eating sushi, Covid stats, weekend, volunteer staff phone call, than holiday moments.
I think for 2022 I am going to go for the October Daily documenting. I'm not a Halloween fan but a huge AUTUMN fan. One of my creative goals for 2022 is to make Christmas cards-at least 22 of them, so my Christmas stash will go to good use.

I need to get at least a rough outline started to save myself trouble later. Otherwise it will be far more work and I might forget that my husband found me an Elf on the Shelf/Dick in a Box meme that MUST go into the book. (I just searched to see if I could link it and found even more versions that made me laugh out loud.) Anyway, I have no Christmas spirit left but I'm going to keep working on it anyway. |

I’m so close to having DD complete! I do have five stories to go, but I’m rapidly running out of album space, so they’ll be simple pages.
I’ve so enjoyed this project, and am not necessarily in a hurry to be done with it, but I am really looking forward to a cleaner workspace once the Christmas stuff is stashed back away.

I just got sick of all the stuff everywhere, and I knew if I tidied up too much my brain would think we were done and I'd never get finished. |

I played with some non-Christmas layouts for a bit but now I'm back and working on the 12x12 layouts for my pl album and enjoying the game of trying to use up all the Christmas things on these remaining pages. |

1/22/2022 Album officially finished. Glued the last element down, forced family to fill out tags that should have been done in early December. 😆
35 pages total, using that term loosely as I have tags and 3x4 cards as a page.
22 of the pages have interactive elements…hidden journaling, flip ups, tags that slide up, doors to open, etc.
I used a grand total of TWO page protectors. That is a new record low for me.
I enjoyed every minute of this project.

I've be slugging along since November...I took photos, took notes, did a lot of planning, and yesterday, got all my photos in pockets in my album. Some will leave the pockets as I complete the album...but they are at least sorted by day/topic. I've done some work on some pages, but I haven't finished one yet. So mom, you are ahead of me. I am enjoying my (slow) process. |
