I finally really started yesterday with my holiday layouts.
I have my background paper with accompanying photos sorted together.
For three of the pages, I cut 11x11" squares of holiday wrap (the three designs I used to wrap gifts) and adhered them to 12x12 white cardstock. Those will have gift opening photos on them.

Do any of you order prints, and if so, who do you recommend? I don’t care for Walgreens results. I have too many to print to do it at home. Thanks!

Walgreens or CVS for (nearly) instant gratification but yes, the quality suffers. In fact I had Walgreens reprint a BIG order of mine because they were so dark. They did look better the second time around but I hate having to be THAT customer. Here at least, CVS has better quality but their prices have gone up quite a bit recently which is why I had given Walgreens another try. I need to work on the patience bit and order from Amazon more.

I don't mind Costco quality for the price (free shipping, too, unless you go over the 8x12 size, I believe). I usually do Persnickety if I have a wide variety of sizes and don't mind waiting a little longer. Mpix is my backup to Persnickety if they are having a print sale.

Okay, so I have twelve 12x12's all in progress.
I have all the background paper down, all the photos down. I'm at the point where I will add some little journaling (there don't seem to be lots of stories to tell this year. It was our first without my mom, and it made it very hard. I might write it on the back of a layout, but don't want it front & center).
Then embellishment time.
In my head, I want lots of embellishments. Heavily embellished. Will that happen? IDK.

I will be done today. 😁 I have a little journaling to do, some numbers to place, then finished.
I can’t wait to pack away the Christmas stuff and get going on new projects. I haven’t started PL or OLW yet because the Christmas supplies are too distracting!
That said, I was considering buying the ‘21 main kit to put away for this year. Is that crazy? I could use the 20% survey code. Will it be available for sale this December? I noticed that this last December they sold the ‘19 kit, but not the ‘20. Do they hold the older kits back an extra year on purpose? Or did the 2020 kit actually sell out?

honeypea Are you in love with that kit? If not, you will find something that you ABSOLUTELY love closer to next DD, and will be wanting to buy that instead.

I am FINISHED my twelve holiday pages!
I literally have just scraps of paper left, and a few repetitive stickers.
I did embellish fairly heavily, though I wish I had more variety of embellishments. I used a ton of enamel dots. I pop dotted so.e cardstock stickers for depth. Added layers.
I like my pages, but this gives me incentive to find more embellishments that I like next year.

2021 was finished last weekend. Hooray! This is what I did for the pomegranate story. I've been enjoying this on Instagram. Gorgeous pages. Very clean.

I like it a lot, but not obsessed. I’d have happily purchased it earlier, but the way they bundle the shipping made me mad. Lol. I’ll think about it as I pack up and really consider what I used a bunch, and what I hardly reached for (stamps, oof). Oh! I. Am. DONE!!! 🙌🏻

My 2019 blurb trade book arrived today! And they put half of the pages in the wrong order… I’ve already sent a complaint and got a reprint notice. I was paging through and wondered how so many pages were from the after-Christmas period but then I found all the mid-month pages after Boxing Day. Besides that little problem it looks good though. I ordered a 5x8” softcover for this one to compare with the hardcover trade book I got for my 2020 album. mom I haven’t even started my 2021 book! I do plan to…

I've only got 2 days left to finish (24th and 25th). I took a ton of photos of my 2 year old this year, so I'm currently trying to narrow the photos down to the best and the ones that really want in my album. 200+ photos can't all go in my album.

I printed a bunch of photos yesterday. I am having trouble getting one photo a day, to go with the journalling. 2021 really was a tough Christmas for us and it shows in how few photos I took. I will probably start the layouts today. Am I behind?

I will probably start the layouts today. Am I behind? Not behind, lol. And dont feel bad about not being able to find one photo a day! I realized in January that I barely took any December photos. So I have found photos from events we went to online & printed them out, used mail to document one day, used a Hallmark gift bag to help document Hallmark movies we watched, etc. I also asked friends that we did stuff with if they had photos I could use.

My reprinted trade book arrived already with expedited shipping, so good on blurb for that. The first one being defective (and my now having to decide if/how I should throw it out, ugh) took a bit of the joy out of the whole thing but hopefully this weekend I will sit down with 2019 and 2020 albums, flip through, and get motivated to work on 2021.

I am soooooo close to being done! The regular part of my album is finally done, but I'm still working on the 3 day trip to Kansas City that we took the second weekend of December. I'm trying to use the digital version of the IACB Holiday Notebook, but it's really hard since I don't need every page, just most of the pages, but not in the order it's made.
I have soooooo much left from the Vicki Boutin "Warm Wishes" line, but a lot of what's left for embellishments are things I wouldn't use in future years (most likely) so I'm not sure what I'll do with the leftovers...other than shoving them into a box to get them out of the way to so I can go back to trying to finish my vacation album from last summer. I have my annual multi-day crop coming up in April so I really need to get the vacation album done so I can put some of the vacation supplies away so I can pack for the crop.

I DID IT!! I finished my 2021 DD album. Took me way longer then last year, but toddlers are harder then babies. So I'm happy that it's finally done.

I am ALMOST (finally) done as well - one more order full of edited photos and journaling (I print this as a photo) and I am done as well. Just could not be bothered to add them from my photo editing software onto the photo printing site....maybe today is the day??
