ETA: The hashtag is #wipsbegone2021. Just received a message from the organizer that she made a mistake when she originated the tag, so to use this one. Thought I would mention the very low key WIPS-B-Gone 2021 Challenge that I signed up for. The challenge is to complete WIPS (works in progress) in 100 days (starting tomorrow (9/23) and ending 12/31). 100 days until the end of the year ! Ack! Anyway, the challenge is for any stitched project - sewing, knitting, crochet. You can sign up here if you want emails for reminders and tips. Post photos of your completed WIPS on Instagram tagged #wipsbgone2021, because here will be prizes along the way. Here's a bit more: I've been working on the hexagon quilt some this week and I'm becoming very proficient at ripping out seams. Ugh. Getting the points of the gray triangles to line up is much harder than I thought it would be. So far I have 3 blocks together, though one of those seams needs some tweaking. There are 20 blocks to put together. If I don't get the hang of this soon, I am going to have to consider alternatives. Perhaps rip the gray triangles off and make 20 mega sized rug mugs? Here is a peek at what I've gotten done. I’ve started my Lucy Attic 24 Yuletide Gorgeous color selection JoP ! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Crocheters can I ask your opinions please? I’ve the yarn for the Yuletide and completed my practice piece. I’ve now seen this on a Facebook group I belong to. They’ve replaced the spike stitch with a front post treble. I prefer the fpt as it gives texture - what do you think? I’ve attached my practice piece for comparison

My preference is the second photo. Either way will be lovely though!

Another vote for the fpt! It reminds me of one of the Nuts About Squares square. As lainey intimates, it would be a yarn eater, wouldn't it? Would it make for a heavier blanket? Would you consider alternating sections in spike and in fpt? I'm just throwing some thoughts in the pot.

I love the idea of the WIPs-B-Gone 2021 challenge **GypsyGirl** . I edited my post. Just received an email from the organizer that she made a mistake in setting up the hashtag and wrote 'be' instead of 'b'. The tag to use on IG is #wipsbegone2021 (to either post or just follow).

I love the look with the front post treble. Hmmm...I'm only on row 11, so I guess it wouldn't be a big deal to start over. The only issues I have had with this pattern is making sure I have the correct number of stitches on the rounds with just plain trebles. I don't know why, but for some reason, I keep messing those up and don't realize it until things don't work on the next round and I realize the count is off. Someone on the Attic24 FB group posted a chart she made that had how many of each stitch should be in each row. That is going to be so helpful to me!

JoP the fpt looks good, two thoughts, as others have said it will probably use more yarn. It will have texture but I think the drape of the blanket might be affected. I love when people take an idea and run in other directions with it.

I’m also planning on placing a stitch marker in each corner

gillyp and lainey I think it maybe a yarn eater. I may just ‘go for it’ and stop when I run out of yarn. O

I have my yarn I'm just about to start round 1! Yay! I'm glad you got it! I am have finished through round 15. I love it so far! I decided to not rip it all out and do the front post stitch. I was afraid I would run out of yarn.

That’s looking fabulous Just T 😍 Thanks! I am not a fan of how the middle looks after I wove ends in. But I am hoping when the whole thing is finished, the wonky middle won't be so obvious.

When I first saw your post about this I thought oh I don’t have any stitched projects. Well I pulled out a cubbie the other day snd it was full of projects I started before we moved; 7 years ago lol. Several pairs of slippers snd scarves. So I think I will join in. I’m sure if I look I will find even more projects. No idea why but the patterns weren’t in the zip lock with my projects but after much searching I think I have found them. I did toss one project as I just didn’t want to finish - no longer like the colors and don’t know anyone else to gift it to so it’s gone. I think I have at least one scarf that may join it. I really like the idea of finishing a few projects before the end of the year. I have a lot of paper projects to which obviously aren’t part of this challenge but I hope to get motivated to work on them as well. So I just signed up gor the emails . Thanks for posting this challenge. I’m hoping to finish a few of these before starting a shawl.

So I just signed up gor the emails . Thanks for posting this challenge. I’m hoping to finish a few of these before starting a shawl. Great! It was meant to be with you finding that bin of projects. Can't wait to hear what you get completed. Today I managed to sort out the point problem, albeit with an unorthodox method. No matter as I managed to put together 3 rows. Just one more row to go, then I'll join them and figure out what fabric I want to use as a border. Hoping this challenge really gets me jump started and back to creating!

The last thing I need is another hobby, but I have always wanted to learn how to watercolor. I follow a watercolor artist on Instagram, and last week, she posted a video to make this fall wreath, and I finally watched it yesterday and tried my hand at it. I did it 3 times before getting one I actually like. The colors are actually a bit more vivid, but you get the idea.

I really like your watercolour Just T! I'm an autumn living girl. I would frame it and incorporate into my autumn decor.
