JoP Thank you! Such a lovely selection, I don't have to make a decision right away, (too many wips to be finished first ). The expression fibre arts is especially nice. Thanks again.

Thanks again. wellway the Expression Fibre Arts pattern is only free for a limited time. I follow them on Instagram and there’s usually a free crochet pattern most weeks. They’re only free for a very short period of time though

They’re only free for a very short period of time though I actually started the Wilona the other day. It makes up quite quickly. I’m not convinced I like my yarn, though, so it might be frogging time. You can subscribe to EFA and get email links for the free patterns.

It's only 2 or 3 evenings work so not a lot if I do decide to frog. It's sitting in the corner for now while I think about it!

gillyp I’m frogging my fpt Yuletide. It is too dense and as wellway suggested it won’t drape nicely. I’ve tried a larger hook size just for the fpt but it looked awful 🙄😬. I’m glad I tried though, it’s all a learning curve I’m only on round 12 so no great shakes. I’d rather stop now and start again with spike stitch

Thanks for the tip about signing up for the free patterns. I'm going to do that

gillyp and JoP on no, ladies, sorry to read you have had to frog your work. JoP , if you have yarn left over at the end, perhaps the fpt would be a perfect stitch for a cushion cover, where a bit of rigidity would be an asset. ETA I got EFA pattern, thank you for the hint, she has already sent me a number of emails!

JoP I’m sorry you are having to do that but I think you will be happier with it long term. This is Wilona so far. I think I’m finding the colour changes too abrupt and I’d rather have it in plain soft blues and yellow. Beachy colours. Do you agree? The colours aren't true on my screen, the navy and bottle green are darker irl and the pink and yellow are bright, almost citrus yellow.

gillyp as it looks on my screen, it's lovely and jewel tone looking. However, your description gives me pause. I think blue tonal colours would be pretty.

This hexagon quilt pattern is from a Gyleen Fitzgerald class I took at Quilt Festival in 2015. The quilt is called "Passage of Time" and is in her book, Quilts: Unfinished Stories with New Endings. The quilt uses her Polygon template to cut pyramids and half-hexagons. Gyleen's background is as an engineer so her templates are very precise and accurate. She also teaches a good way to sew the butterfly seam you need with hexagons (why I took the class). If you can't find the book, pm me.

the Expression Fibre Arts pattern is only free for a limited time. I just bought it. That is the second free pattern I have gotten from there, and I love them both. Now, I just have to finish the shawl I started with yarn I bought in Florida and then find more yarn to make those two. Oh, after I finish the yuletide blanket. LOL Too many things! I guess I am set for winter projects! @jeremeysgirl, I love your sweater. You are fast at completing projects.

I'll just be honest gillyp the yarns are all pretty on their own, but the color combo just does not work in my brain.

You are fast at completing projects. Not as fast as I would like. Process over product in my way about things. That's how my brain works. This shawl was so easy to begin with. And I took it on my camping vacation with me. It worked up quickly. When I'm at round 142 of a blanket, you betcha I wish I was faster. LOL!

I'll just be honest gillyp the yarns are all pretty on their own, but the color combo just does not work in my brain. I think that's what I feel. The navy and the green are the colours from the whirl but they don't particularly go with the rest of the whirl. I think some of the greens and yellows are too acidic so they clash rather than complement. It might have been nicer mainly pink but there you go. I'm glad I put it up because it's good to get opinions. Thank you Peas.

Last day of the month. I'm taking the morning off work and I will work on my skull blanket. I may decide to take tomorrow off work too. Because I'm on the struggle bus.
