I knew booty would be happy with the CCB news. I read somewhere that she may be able to continue the Aurora Teagarden movies, since that is on HMM and not the main Hallmark channel.
A number of stars have signed exclusive deals with Hallmark recently- I wonder what this will do to the Lifetime, and to a lesser extent UPtv, Christmas movies. I know quite a few HM stars have been featured in their movies in the past.
I also wonder if GAC might be in a bit of trouble. They had advertised Christmas movies all year long on Saturday nights, but it's been just marathons of stuff like "Full House," "Who's the Boss," and "Bewitched" for weeks. Additionally, I thought a Trevor Donovan movie was supposed to premiere in March, but I don't recall seeing it air at all.

I knew booty would be happy with the CCB news. I read somewhere that she may be able to continue the Aurora Teagarden movies, since that is on HMM and not the main Hallmark channel. Variety claims several sources say there are no plans for new Aurora Teagarden Mysteries movies. I really don't see Crown Media allowing her to be on HM&M after the GAC departure although her GAC contract is not an exclusive. A number of stars have signed exclusive deals with Hallmark recently- I wonder what this will do to the Lifetime, and to a lesser extent UPtv, Christmas movies. I know quite a few HM stars have been featured in their movies in the past. I think Hallmark is simply locking in their most beloved stars as they should. Several of these contracts allow for the actors to also attempt their hand at something else and work on developing projects so it actually seems like an attractive deal for both parties. Paul Campbell's writing is certainly worth such a deal. GAC's big wins were Danica and CCB but Hallmark retained the many other famous faces and look to be replacing CCB's spiderwebby star appeal with Lacey Chabert. It really seems like Hallmark are shifiting generations. I'm intrigued. Fall Harvest should be an interesting mini season to get a first feel of the reorganisation of stardom within the network.

Ducking my head in case sleepingbooty throws something at me: I like CCB Christmas movies (well, some of them). Won’t miss Aurora Mysteries because I lost interest in them. Then I actually “lost” the last 3 when my DVR box crashed , so I never actually had a chance to watch them. I’ll be checking out the other channels because I like some of these actors and really am not loyal to any particular network. Sometimes I just need my mindless diversion TV. As for the stars coming and going from Hallmark, I’m in a couple of different FB groups. As can be expected, there are a lot of very strong opinions about the direction that the Hallmark Channel is taking with their diversity. The one thing that the groups seem to agree upon is that many of the staple stars, such as CCB, Lacey, Alison Sweeney, Autumn Reeser, Holly Robinson Peete and a few others are getting too old to fit the Hallmark “young woman seeks love” trope. They are all clamoring for new, young talent for the lead roles. The current stable of male leads seem to have escaped this demand. Misogyny at its best. I do think Cindy Busby is being primed to replace CCB in the seasonal movies. She seems to be turning up on a regular basis. I don’t like her or the current #1 heartthrob (or so I’ve read), Ryan Peavy. Bring on the new channels, new stars and new stories.

CCB and Danica are my least favorites so leaving is fine by me - see ya!! I honestly think I'd be okay with any other changes as long as Tyler Hynes doesn't jump ship. I think he's mid-30s so hopefully there's lots of Hallmark movies left in him yet. Also - bring on the diversity! I'm here for it.
