I got on the Hallmark Christmas Movie bandwagon last year and I'm here for it again this year! I signed up for Philo so I can watch Christmas movies through the end of the year! I've watched two movies so far, but I think only one of the new 2021 movies.
I watched an older one last night, The Mistletoe Secret, and I really enjoyed it. Kellie Pickler is quite charming!

I've got the countdown app, and my goal is to watch them all. I've seen Danica's new one and Luke McFarlane's movie. I like Danica's movie, but it what world is Benjamin Ayres 27?!?
I'll watch the Santa Stakeout today.
I need to create cards to review them all in my DD.
I've also got GAC Family and UP TV movies set to record when they kick off, and I'll probably watch some Lifetime ones too.

I love the Hallmark Christmas movies and will join you in trying to watch all 41 new ones! I was at the Hallmark store last weekend and almost bought myself the Cozie to wear while watching them!

SO EXCITE. SO VERY EXCITE.
It's not that difficult for me to get through them time-wise until we get to Thanksgiving where there's one every night and I get a bit behind. Buuuuuuuut I've done it the past few years so I'll do it again lol
I have to sail the seas 🏴☠️ for Lifetime movies so I usually choose ones I like based on the summaries or people in them. On top of them doing one every day from start to finish.. nobody's got time for that. I won't watch GAC movies but I'll probably get through a couple on Netflix. That damn princess switch has me locked in for 2 years already I'm going down with the ship now.

I'm going to accept the challenge to watch all 41, even though I'll probably be lucky to get to 10 in reality. It's still fun to play along and track the ones watched!
When the app first came out my entire bookclub tried to track and keep up and we'd text each other reminders. It was loads of fun!

My time and DVR space are limited this year (ha), so I’m picking and choosing as the new ones become available. I like many of the previous stars, so I check those out first. I’m not loving some of the newcomers, so I try to watch and then often pass.
I’m a member of several Hallmark Christmas Movie groups and some of the comments having been getting pretty heated and ugly. Boy oh boy are some people opinionated about Christmas movie plots and stars. It’s crazy!

So far, I am 2/3 on the new Hallmark movies. Just finished the Boyfriends of Christmas Past (not my favorite, but tolerable).
Edit: I missed the movie 'You, me and the trees' and can't find a replay of it. Did anyone see it?

I had 72 movies on my PVR which I lost a couple of weeks ago when they had to replace it. So I have a list. Im going to be pickier with which ones I record. They always seem to replay them throughout the week following (or do up here). I know which actors/actresses I can handle and which ones I enjoy. It will cut the list down significantly. There are a few old favourites that i hope they replay as well lol

Watched Christmas in my Heart this morning and thankfully Luke Macfarlane is in another movie later on in the season because this wasn't his best 🙊 The little girl was the scene stealer in everything and I loved the talks between her and her grandma -- especially the hair talk!! (which.. would've never happened in older HM movies). While watching I kept getting commercials for next weeks movie which looks like a snoozefest. If their 'sneak peek' scene is that boring I can't wait to see how the rest of the movie will be 🙄 mom it'll be on tonight at 7 est!

I LOVE Hallmark Christmas movies!! I don't think I'll be watching them all though. Every year a friend and I get together and spend a day watching several of them. We wear comfy lounge clothes, have pillows and blankets, cocoa/tea, and junk food. One of the traditions I look forward to every year!

I have to sail the seas 🏴☠️ for Lifetime movies As a European, Hallmark (and Lifetime) make me go out at sea all autumn and winter long. Shameless! I've become quite the expert maritime explorer, loving all the 1080p beasties that they're capturing (hehe) so quickly these days... 💀⛵🦜 I missed the movie 'You, me and the trees' and can't find a replay of it. Did anyone see it? I've half-seen it. Does that count? 😅 Just finished the Boyfriends of Christmas Past (not my favorite, but tolerable). Raymond Ablack's general goodlooking-ness ( with facial hair) carried me through that one. You know I'll be watching season 2 of Ginny & Georgia just because of him... *hangs head in shame* thankfully Luke Macfarlane is in another movie later on in the season because this wasn't his best He's in Netflix's Single All the Way as well! Still no preview or trailer though... 😒 dawnnikol Is this also the place to discuss non-Hallmark Christmas rom-coms like Netflix, Amazon, Lifetime and the rest?

Oh pug, I just realised I signed myself up for a CCB movie with this Hallmark challenge. Save me. It took me all of 3 seconds to figure out what CCB is. I feel the same - save me! I just re-watched On the 12th Date of Christmas while doing some Christmas crafting (hot cocoa pouches for craft fairs). I have it marked as a favorite in the Hallmark movie checklist app and it's still good on re-watch. I noticed the actor in this (Tylor Hynes) is in 3 out of the 4 movies I have listed as favorites in the app. Apparently I have a favorite HM actor and didn't know it!

A little different but for those who enjoy the artistic reality drama that is Netflix's Blown Away, they're having a redemption season with past contestants that is Christmas-themed this year!

We watched the boyfriend movie tonight because my bf wanted to watch the one with Sav from Degrassi.. and I have COMMENTS. Spoiler for obvious reasons - Ok main girl sucked, right? She was SO MUCH MORE than simply oblivious and Chris kept asking me if this was some weird 'so aware it's a joke' thing because of how purposefully obtuse she was 🤷♀️. Her younger wig was awful and made her look older every time they showed her in it. All the while we're yelling at the TV how they should've put Nate in a Degrassi jr high sweatshirt for the laughs during the college scene.
THERE WERE SO MANY WREATHS. see a flat surface? Put a wreath on it!
The cgi snow was HORRIFIC and they didn't even try any time she was outside, where was the random flecks of snow in her hair?
At the end the little boy who took the big bear went back for another gift lol
Things to watch out for - the grumpy af carriage driver and the derpy looking stuffed reindeer towards the end.. you'll know when you see it lol All in all it was the worst of the first weekend to me. It was fine because I had someone to yell at the TV about how dumb it was 😆 but if I was watching alone it would've been awful.

I have had Hallmark Christmas movie watching mugs in my Etsy saved for later cart for years, but have never pulled the trigger, because the shipping is always so expensive for mugs. I ended up ordering the one from Hallmark tonight, because I got a $5 off coupon, and free shipping for joining Gold Crown making it only $8 shipped! I just couldn’t resist! I also ordered a Hallmark Christmas sweatshirt from Etsy, because I’ve wanted one of those for years also. I’m so excited for them to get here just in time for festive season to begin👏🏻👏🏻🎄. Bring on all the cozy Hallmark movies, I’m ready!!

I don't plan to watch all the new movies, I always pick and choose based on actors and plot. I did watch You, Me and the Christmas Trees and thought it was okay. Really looking forward to the sequel to my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie ever, the one where the hunky fireman adopts a stray cat. I believe that isn't premiering until thanksgiving weekend.

This article about GAC is interesting. Does anyone have further insight into this story? It appears to me that Bill Abbott, former CEO of Hallmark, made the move to GAC because he did not support the move to diversify the network's programs. Am I misreading this?

I think Bill Abbott was pushed out after the commercial controversy. What gets me is there was a movie with Andrew Walker in 2012 ("A Bride for Christmas"), where Kimberly Sustad's character said multiple times she was gay. Granted, nothing was ever shown, but I don't remember any controversy around that, and the movie has played multiple times every year since then.

It appears to me that Bill Abbott, former CEO of Hallmark, made the move to GAC because he did not support the move to diversify the network's programs. Am I misreading this? I don't have any further knowledge but imo it's 10000% why he left. After the wedding commercials and the network no longer being "family friendly" as they like to say . It's no coincidence the moment Abbott didn't have his hands in the Hallmark pie things started shifting... the bar is under ground and they're moving at a snails pace, but it's moving. His quote from that article is like, chef's kiss bad. You don't *just* have white leads.. you actively search out white leads for those roles and don't write/have stories written with people of color in mind. Which brings me back to that Luke Macfarlane movie being so important this year! Spoiler because I'm talking about more than what I did in the other thread - The little girl talking to her grandma when she was getting her hair done and how she (little girl) was apprehensive about the violin because she didn't see violinists looking like her/with her hair/she wanted it slicked back because of it/etc are important conversations to see on tv. I'm not sure about the actors signing multi-movie deals, but a large number of them have always gone where it felt best that year.. Hallmark, Lifetime, even UpTV and Ion Television. So that doesn't seem strange to me. And this isn't a comment directed towards you Margie! More on the article and a bunch of others I've seen about how "so and so is leaving Hallmark!" or they're being stolen away or something lol.

Is the app the only way to find the full schedule, including reruns, for the 2021 movies? Does anyone know? I have missed 3 or 4 new movies this year already and want to know when they'll replay since the new ones don't seem to be available on demand.

It appears to me that Bill Abbott, former CEO of Hallmark, made the move to GAC because he did not support the move to diversify the network's programs. Am I misreading this? That's exactly what happened. Hallmark/Crown Media have had several issues coming from up top, AKA Abbott, over the recent years and the lesbian kiss leading to the zola.com ad being pulled from the channel was the drop of water that broke the camel's back. This wasn't the only issue and Hilarie Burton went very public with her reason for walking out on a Hallmark movie (and subsequently the entire Hallmark-verse) due to refusal from execs to honour her diversity representation requests. None of the openly liberal Hallmark stars have left for GAC and I doubt any of them will. Abbott has done a lot for the Hallmark Channel, however. His talent is undeniable. Without him, it's unlikely it would have grown into the beast it is today. He's behind Movies & Mysteries, the inclusion of seasonal movies all through the year (Fall Harvest, Spring Fever, Summer Nights, etc.). He also headed ad sales and managed to grow the ad sales revenue by twenty times. There's a reason Hallmark held on to him for as long as they could. But at some point, the image of the brand they'd so carefully built really started to suffer too much.

There's the general schedule on the website ( Hallmark Channel/ Movies & Mysteries) so you'd have to identify the new movies you've missed and mark those dates down. Boyfriends of Christmas Past runs tonight at 8PM. The Santa Stakeout will play again tomorrow, Friday, at 6PM.
