Non Hallmark but my boyfriend and I are watching Last Christmas and I forgot how much I love this movie.
We saw it in theaters twice (the before times 😢) and I remember the tears and audible gasps between my bf and I when the big reveal happened. We're definitely sappy babies at heart lmao

I'd love to see it again but I've been crying a lot lately (for no good reason really), so I think not.🙄

It never rains but it pours - is an old saying from my mom. Well even though usually I can't find much to watch, tonight at 8 I want to watch A Kiss Before Christmas, the Steelers game and the Equalizer. I think I will have to watch the Hallmark movie next Wednesday. And either watch Equalizer streaming later or have it on and keep peeking at the Steeler game.
I did watch Love Hurts and enjoyed it much. I hadn't heard of Jimmy O. Yang before but I started watching some of his Youtube comedy routines. I watched the Hallmark "A Timeless Christmas" which I enjoyed. (Please note, I am easily amused!) It started out in a favorite era of mine, only 4 years before my gramma was born. Time travel ensues. And it kept me guessing until about 3/4 over would he stay or would he go.

We're definitely sappy babies at heart lmao This is one of my favorites! I saw it for the first time last year and once again so far this season. Really, really cute! I binge watched quite a few yesterday while faffing around the house. My favorite was The Christmas Secret (2014). A super cheesy "Christmas miracle" type movie where everything fits together and wraps up nicely by the end. The acting was good and the two mains had chemistry.

I watched Five More Minutes which aired on M&M. I figured out at the start what the "unexpected" twist was and it all unfolded as predicted. Still, I enjoyed the discovery of grandpa's old love story through his journal and the mystery of Martha. Overall, it's ok. I'll have totally forgotten about this come the end of the year. It's a movie about reflecting on mistakes/mishaps from the past and learning to make better choices in the present. There's some nostalgia happening. I thought this would be heavy on the grieving/mourning feels but it wasn't, fortunately. Not gonna lie, kinda wished the ending had unfolded differently, especially since I didn't feel a strong connection between the lead and the guy but oh well, it's a Hallmark world and we're all just living in it.

My cat-loving heart is looking forward to the Nine Kittens of Christmas!
I watched Christmas Treasure with Jordin Sparks.. wanted to hear her sing, which I don't think they utilized that talent enough, but it was a highlight. It was actually a bit more realistic story how they became friends and wasn't all romance-y the whole time. But also very good if you are playing bingo - a few subplots.
This is the 2nd hallmark movie I've watched this season with the time capsule theme! I swear I haven't heard about a time capsule since I was in elementary school...is this a thing? Do any of you live where time capsules for towns are a big deal? I've def heard of towns having them, but never heard of it being connected to Christmas.

I was going through my Frndly schedule to set up recording for "An Unexpected Christmas" and while the guide says the correct title, when I click it, it's a different movie description and photo, etc. I'll just hope it still works. ^.^ We're also set to record "The Nine Kittens of Christmas", thank you for the reminder!

Watching The Mistletoe Inn (a fav 😍) and saw an ad for Lacey's new movie Christmas at Hart Castle, and I wonder if her seniority gives her first dibs with on location movies? 😄 Winter in Vail, Christmas in Rome, Love, Romance & Chocolate... I think I'm onto something lol

Oh yes! This is gonna be a highlight of the season for me. I recorded the first one a few days ago so I can have a double feature. So, what is the 1st one?I've been meaning to tell everyone who missed the first one (family fave here!) they are airing it at 6pm on Thanksgiving before the new premiere at 8! So you can watch both back to back. I haven't commented up until now but I've been reading. I watch Hallmark Christmas movies literally from 8am until I go to bed around 12am. lol I watch them while I edit my work at my desk. I loved Love Hard this year on Netflix. So good! And I finally got around to watching The Holidate from last year (Netflix) and I am obsessed. The main guy..... I am definitely going to watch it again with at least one of my daughters.

We watched the Teri Hatcher and her Desperate Housewives husband one this week and it got incredibly high praise from my DH, although to be fair, his review of every hallmark movie we've watched so far this year has been the same: this is shit. So we're clearly working from a very low benchmark I quite enjoyed it, and could actually watch it again.

I watched The Nine Lives of Christmas earlier and I spent the whole movie trying to figure out what goes wrong with their relationship so that they are "thrown back together" in the sequel. I am way too invested in these characters. And then of course I started thinking about how long it has been since the original movie was filmed and how the cats actors are probably retired (or worse) and it spoiled the heartwarming hallmark Christmas movie feeling.

I was a little nervous about this sequel, but I enjoyed it. I felt that the characters stayed true to the original.
One of the opening scenes through me for a minute but I liked how things worked out.

Watched the 9 Kittens of Christmas, and felt it lacked the magic of the original film. I'm a dog person, but even I thought the kittens were adorable.

I thought Nine Kittens of Christmas was a little slow but I have to admit I enjoyed the kittens! It was neat to see the cameo from Paul Campbell, too (I'm pretty sure that was him).
I really liked the Teri Hatcher movie last weekend. I thought it was well done for an alternate reality movie. Hallmark's been really good with these lately - I liked Next Stop, Christmas, and the non-Christmas one a few months ago, too.

Non Hallmark because I've been seriously slipping on new movies.. and watching tons of old ones 🙈 but my SO and I made our "have to watch" movie lists for the season.. some overlap between us, which makes things easier. What's on your guys' "absolutely have to see" list??
This is ours this year -- 8 crazy nights love at the christmas table - my hallmark-esque contribution nightmare before christmas jingle jangle muppet christmas carol emmet otter's jug band christmas mickey's once upon a christmas the grinch the first santa clause home alone 1&2 jingle all the way elf scrooged christmas with the kranks die hard
and then a couple new ones -- silent night and a boy called christmas.
We watched the most recent Home Alone on D+ the other night and it was funny. I laughed a lot more than I anticipated I would going into it.

My kids put it on and the parts I caught were not as terrible as I'd hoped. There's also "8-bit Christmas" on HBO Max if you like Neil Patrick Harris, we're watching that tonight. It's a new one! I enjoy "The Family Stone", but it's not for everyone.

The Nine Kittens of Christmas was super cute. I thought it worked really well as a sequel to the first installment. There were a few awkward patches (can't be the only one who thought they were trying to position the chief's daughter as a potential love interest) but nothing particularly off-putting. Besides the snowflake print inside of the puffy jacket's collar. And of course, of course, *that* kitten ended up being the special kitten. I knew it! Watching Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes' new movie next. CANNOT WAIT! This looks like it might be my Hallmark fave of the season...

After being so grouchy (or should that be “Grinchy”)about all of the new movies with new leads - I am over the moon and relieved to finally see movies with some of my long time favorites.
I really liked the new Nine Lives movie. I adore Kimberly Sustad and the Paul Campbell cameo was a delight. It gives me hope these two will star in (and maybe write) another Hallmark movie again soon.
I also really liked the new Bethany Joy Lenz and Tyler Hynes' movie. They are both so good and it was a really good pairing.
Now I’m looking forward to Lacey Chabert and Candace Cameron Bure’s new movies. And looking ahead, it appears there are several more movies with with returning main leads.

LE GASP. I haven't finished An Unexpected Christmas yet but we're taking a quick cocktail-making break and I had to hop in here because ANDREW WALKER HAS A (TIIIINY) CAMEO! I know Hynes and Walker have a full-on bromance and keep tagging each other on IG. They mentioned trying to be on-screen together and I guess this is it... If you're a Hallmark gal, this should make you feel 50 shades of fuzzy feels. Anyway, An Unexpected Christmas is really good so far. I wasn't expecting the fake dating to be of pretty hostile nature but I'm enjoying this one a lot. Definitely top tier of the Countdown to Christmas season so far! ETA: Finished it! LOVE-LOVE-LOVED it. This is the best Hallmark from the season so far. It's funny, the male lead has Chandler Bing traits, the entire cast kills it, the sister is openly gay (and actually looks like she could be Hynes' bio sibling), it turns vaudevillesque at times, it's well paced. I had to go check the writing credits after watching it because I thought it was surprisingly good for Hallmark. Turns out one of the two writers is... *drum rolls* PAUL CAMPBELL! Yes, Paul 'impeccable comedic timing' Campbell, the Hallmark actor. 'Tis no Holidate nor Love Hard but damn it, it tries. The gay sister killed me with this line:

I just finished the movie, hate that I missed him. I also noticed Tyler was credited on Andrew's movie, but I don't remember seeing him in it. Then again, I hardly recognized Tyler without his facial hair.
