Non Hallmark but my boyfriend and I are watching Last Christmas and I forgot how much I love this movie. We saw it in theaters twice (the before times 😢) and I remember the tears and audible gasps between my bf and I when the big reveal happened. We're definitely sappy babies at heart lmao I saw it in the theater too (and documented it in my DD). I could see what was coming, but I still shed a few tears. 😢

ANDREW WALKER HAS A (TIIIINY) CAMEO! I know Hynes and Walker have a full-on bromance and keep tagging each other on IG. They mentioned trying to be on-screen together and I guess this is it... If you're a Hallmark gal, this should make you feel 50 shades of fuzzy feels. Where was Andrew? I just finished the movie, hate that I missed him. I also noticed Tyler was credited on Andrew's movie, but I don't remember seeing him in it. Then again, I hardly recognized Tyler without his facial hair. I need to go back to Andrew's movie and spot Tyler in it because like you, I cannot recognise the man without his usual scruff. Andrew walks into the bar where Emily (BJL) and Jamie (Hynes) are having a drink. It's the first scene in the bar when she blurts out the truth to the waiter. He walks in (tan coat, red and black buffalo plaid-ish scarf) when Jamie gets up to get drinks from the bar and tells the waiter his actual name ("Walker, table for two.") and then bumps into Jamie as Jamie returns to the table ("Go ahead."/"Please, please, after you").

This is older but I had never seen it. Holiday with Jenni Garth & Cameron Mathison (Hulu). I enjoyed it! I have 2 bookmarked for tonight on Hallmark. Making Spirits Bright at 6pm & right after that is Lacey Chabert's new one - Christmas at Castle Heart (she's one of my faves!) ETA: Checking my Frndly guide - then at 10pm is the new Brendan Penny where the woman has amnesia after falling into the pond: Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas. Yikes. Guess we know what I'll be doing for the next 6 hours.

Thanks for letting me know! In Andrew's movie, Tyler is the waiter who brings them coffee on their way to the house. Apparently Andrew is married to Tyler's cousin!

It appears Comedy Central is doing a Christmas Hallmark movie spoof.
"Holly has to buy up the Clüsterfünke Inn to make it a mega-resort, but then she meets Frank and she thinks whether she should complete the assignment and go back to her city life, or fall in love with him and find the spirit of Christmas."

An Unexpected Christmas ends with one of Bethany Joy Lenz's songs from her jazzy 2020 Christmas album:

We watched a ton of Christmas movies yesterday.
8 Bit Christmas (HBO) - loved this one, very nostalgic story about a kid in 1988 wanting his first Nintendo, and a great ending An Unexpected Christmas (Hallmark) - Cute, really like the leads. Making Spirits Bright (Hallmark) - 2 rival families compete in an (outdoor) Christmas decorating contest. This was more about friendship than love, and DH sat all the way through it, which is something. Christmas at Castle Heart (Hallmark) - Lacey Chabert lies about who she is through the movie, inducing lots of anxiety, but a heartfelt ending saves it from being horrible. Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas (HMM) - Someone has amnesia and there's a misunderstanding, but a solid ending. A Castle for Christmas (Netflix) - Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes were somewhat miscast, I thought, in this weird story, but charming setting and secondary characters made it watchable. Father Christmas is Back (Netflix) - Weird and very miscast. The only good part was the mom and her lover and a few funny moments but not a re-watch.

You know, I thought more about why the 9 Kittens of Christmas movie was bugging me. I watched the 9 Lives of Christmas right before I watched the sequel, and two inconsistencies stuck out. The first was there was no snow in the 9 Lives movie, but there was a ton in the 9 Kittens. The second was Sam said in the first movie he couldn't take in Ambrose because of Harriet's allergies, but in the sequel, they adopted two cats.
Come on Hallmark!

Finally got around to the fake dating Bethany Joy/Tyler Hynes movie and it was pretty cute! Still doesn't top It Was Always You for Tyler movies but a great holiday one. He 100000% needs the scruff though 🙊 Also love that Paul Campbell wrote it!
He did an interview where he talked about being in town for that Andrew Walker movie and Andrew asking if he'd pop in. He had a little story about an extra telling him he was great as the waiter and if he worked at it he could be a lead some day 😆 Also said it was the same set and crew from Roadhouse Romance -- a movie he did earlier in the year. Which I found odd but completely makes sense they reuse places. The big house/inn from 5 Star Christmas is in a lot of movies too.
Making Spirits Bright started on its own after finishing the other one and it's not the best but I haven't looked for the remote yet lol. I thought this was the guy who always plays leads with terrible British and French accents but it must be someone who looks similar 🤷♀️
Elves came out today and I watched 2 episodes this morning. Y'all I love this slightly creepy/cute elf thing going on. There's a baby elf that just looks like a furry coconut... with teeth.
Edit on ep 4 now and I take back the cute bit about Elves to crank the heebies jeebies factor to 11. This is pure nightmare fuel.

I watched this over the weekend and thought it was ok but far from great. I totally didn't buy the relationship, the I'm in love with you just felt way too early for the pace they seemed to be moving at for most of the movie. Or as my husband rated it in the first 20mins before rolling over and going to sleep: this is shit.

I spent most of the movie dwelling on why Brooke Shields was cast as the female lead. I was surprised at how wooden her acting was. The supporting cast however, I loved. I don't think I would have made it through without them.

Oh, we watched "A Boy Called Christmas" over the holiday weekend, too. I don't recommend reading the book right before like we did unless you don't mind all the glaring differences. Overall, though, the kids said they'd watch it again.

Tyler Hynes is my favorite HM actor and I literally shouted at the TV when I saw the beginnings of the preview for his xmas movie and his face was shaved. WHAT?!? NOoOOOOOooo!!!

Can confirm: the Netflix Elves series is definitely a missed Halloween month release. Holy shirtballs, it's giving me all the wrong vibes for the Christmas season. And I like scary Christmas tales à la Krampus myth. I quit to go watch the newest Dexter episode. I mean, yeah, that says a lot.

He's barely recognisable. It's like a totally different guy. If it weren't for his top notch acting and gorgeous hands (hehe), I would have been really confused about his name being attached to the project.

NOoOOOOOooo!!! yes yes yes x 10000000! His job in the movie is in an office so that must have been the reasoning, otherwise... 🤷 Can confirm: the Netflix Elves series is definitely a missed Halloween month release. Holy shirtballs, it's giving me all the wrong vibes for the Christmas season Saaaaaame! I really love the theme song though. But.. eeesh! The amount of holiday/Christmas in this doesn't outweigh the spookiness at all.

I prefer the non scruffy version but I understand I am in the minority. But it may have more to do with not really understanding what exactly is going on with his actual hair in some movies. IDK if it is because he has to keep it styled a certain way for his day job, but there are times when I am so distracted by WTH is happening on his head. Is that a bad wig? A toupee? Styling products gone wrong?

Officially tapping out of Nantucket Noel. I really want to watch it because it's got Teddy from 90210 (shit TV ftw). But noooo, I cannot. I'm bored out of my mind. His 2020 Hallmark Christmas movie was another Unfinished & Forgotten. Why, Hallmark, why. Millennials don't want these boring scripts. And no one besides millennials watched the 90210 reboot, come on.
Ugh, frustrated. Again.

I'm so late to this thread because I make myself wait until after Thanksgiving to watch christmas movies but HELLO!
I am here and I'm all in. I'll catch up on all the pages tonight.
So far I have only watched the new Netflix movies:
A California Christmas and A Castle for Christmas and they were both delicious.
Last night I got in this year's watch of The Holiday as it leaves Netflix today. So much love for that movie.
Can't wait to pick another to watch tonight.

Started, but could not finish, so many of the earlier movies. Not sure how to check that off the Countdown list if you bail on it. Half a checkmark? A big red X? Does anyone make a DNF stamp?

Officially tapping out of Nantucket Noel. Yes, this was one that took me two attempts to get through, and then the second half was only because I was so exhausted but felt I should stay awake past than 8pm.

I'm only on page 3 with catching up but I wanted to give my review of My Dad's Christmas Date. It came out in 2020 but I missed it. First of all I thought it was phenomenal. Jeremy Piven is incredible and Olivia-Mai Barrett as his daughter was exceptional and I think we'll be seeing way more of her. It wasn't a sappy cheesy rom-com and I was not expecting it. I did not have the emotional capacity to deal with it and was in tears. I do recommend it but it wasn't in the Hallmark movie genre. More like Love Actually.
I watched it on Netflix.

Ok, I'm halfway caught up and I just have to ask. Do y'all like Chad Michael Murray? I find him smarmy and not as cute as he thinks he is.
I'm all fake-it-til-you-make-it but he just never makes it for me. I think this dates back to what a total ass he was on Dawson's Creek as Charlie (I think).
I also wanted to add, what was up with Cary Elwes makeup in A Castle for Christmas? I could not get over it. Dab that on with a spatula, makeup artist person. Geesh.
