I finally got back to doing some PL pages. I got 3 weeks done in the last 2 days and I'm finally up to May. The pages are less embellished but I'm still pleased with how they turned out over all and so happy to be making pages again. I'm hoping to work on May over the next couple of days. It felt good to work through some of my kits that have been piling up too. Yay, scrappyem! Catching up and using some of your "kit pile", that's a win-win. You must be getting closer to meeting your little one as well... Such exciting times ahead for you and your family! I just completed my first 9x12 page last night for my PL for this half of the year. The first half I used 6x12. I did like that size a lot but I found I wanted to tell more stories than I had room for and regularly added flip up and smaller inserts (6x8, 3x8). It felt luxurious to have all the space! Lol All that square footage in your 9x12 making you feel fancy! I'm so glad you're enjoying this new format and all the fun you can have with inserts for extra stories and pics. What I find interesting is I enjoy the 9 3x4 pockets pocket page for my 9x12 album the best. Sometimes the combo 3x4 and 4x6 pocket page gives me some issues with planning. Not gonna lie, I have a soft spot for the all 3x4 pocket pages as well... Just feels so nice and balanced! I said screw it, plopped three months worth of 9x12 pages in a 12x12 and am continuing on my way. Suddenly everything is clicking again and I’m ENJOYING PL for the first time this year! 😅 Hey, sometimes a format just doesn't work out and that's ok. I'm really glad you went back to your beloved 12x12 and are finally enjoying this project again. That's the most important! Maybe you can recycle the 9x12 for a different project? And I have now (finally) completed project life up to may, have printed photos for my witl album and June (waiting on them to arrive in the post) so I am basically almost caught up 😇. Yeah baby, that's called being up to date, congrats! Wishing you loads of PL fun with your June photos...

My PL album is about to get cute big time... My mother and stepfather have decided not to go on summer vacay this year with the 7th wave of Covid-19 hitting us hard so she called me yesterday to update their foster family file. I selected photos I'd taken of them and their kitties this year. She photographed some updates they did to their garden recently. And boom, just a few hours later, she already got the call. Emergency placement for a female Cocker Spaniel starting tomorrow. EEEEEP! I'm so excited to be playing on the regular with a dog again. Oh, to take her out in the pine forests for some sniffing and tracking... And not gonna lie, a few minutes after I hung up, my brain immediately went to all the cute photos I'd be able to add to my album. Not sure how long this dog is going to be with them or what state she's in but all dogs are cute no matter what in my eyes. Can't wait to see her coat colour so I can start picking PL cards! (It sounds like I'm just in it for the photos but I promise I'm not. )

So exciting about the new fostr, I'm sure she'll be an adorable feature in your pages.

I was waffling on whether I would do a 2022 album because I haven't been doing all that great at taking pictures, but I did an inventory on the weekend and I think I can make it work. I'm feeling really behind, but am hoping that I come up with a system to streamline things for this year and just keep it simple so that I have an album done. I label my albums by the beginning month and year and the ending month and year. Sometimes there's a couple of years, sometimes one.
My current plan is to order photos biweekly and put them in page protectors when they get here. Then leave post it notes on the protectors with things I want to remember like dates, names, or products I want to use. That way, the album is at least filled and the basics are there. Then, I'll slowly go back and fill it in with journal cards.
I'm not loving scrapping life lately. It just feels blah. There are some months where I get excited because there was a fun event. I decided I'd concentrate on doing the fun pages and go back to the boring pages later.
I have some months scrapped between 2017-2021 with quite a few gaps. I haven't even started on 2022. I'm hopelessly behind, but I think I've finally got a plan that will work.

I like the idea of ordering photos biweekly, even monthly would put me farther ahead than I am now (I do my PL spreads on a monthly basis). Right now I haven't printed any photos from this year. I think I am going to take a bit of an assembly line approach. For 2022 I am using some monthly cards for my title card and am not going to customize them with embellishments, but I might mat them in off white cardstock. Cutting those apart and getting them ready to go into my album is just some busy work that I can do whenever, even while I am watching TV one evening. I like the idea of sticking the photos in the page protectors right away. Sometimes finding the right page protector can be a bit of a project, but I think if I do it all at once I'll get into a groove and be a bit more efficient. This year has been overall a bit blah here too--I'm trying to plan some more exciting activities, but I do want to push ahead and document it anyway. I'm also contemplating doing a Week in the Life sometime in the fall. It's something I would like to try and would be nice to work that into my album for some variety.

Mine is probably more Family Album than PL. The number of pages vary from month to month. I do put in some smaller things like weather, politics, and food photos that's feels more like PL. I do like your idea for 2022. I could make some simple monthly cards. I have a months stamp set.

That's very kind of your folks to foster. Wishing you lots of cute dog photos, toys and fun walks for your album. refugeepea Love your cards! Super cute! That's a great approach on how to get caught up. Nothing wrong with skipping the boring bits. infochick Love the assembly line approach. I'm doing some of that when I'm editing photos to get caught up. I do 2 quick edits (basically lighten and brighten my photos) and then print to keep as simple as possible. It's helped a ton.

I thought I'd share some more revised BH PL cards. Ah-dorable! Love how you completely transformed these with embellishments and stamping. I'm going to need some deets on the "ugh" part of late nights during summer. Literally one of my favourite things about the season! My doc thinks she'll induce in about 3 weeks. I'm both terrified and excited. Maybe I can sneak in a few more catchup weeks before he arrives. Oh my, it's all happening so soon! Hoping for a smooth and easy delivery for you. I hope you'll find the time to hop in here and let us know you and baby are well once he's born (I know you'll be super busy with the newborn stage but it'll be nice to know you're ok). Think of all the super cute baby pics you'll be able to scrap once the chaos dies down a bit...

Well earlier this month I bought the scrapbook . com pocket die set. Comes with a 4x6 and 3x4 metal die so you can easily cut photos and cards to fir their pocket pages. Oh my, life changing. Seriously. I had made templates so I could cut down my photos and cards I make myself. But this is so much easier. I just made a pocket layout for dd and I was able to quickly cut my photos down.

Just hopping in here to share a first (tentative) photo of my mother's foster. She was dropped after having been a breeding b*tch for many years. A good breeder would've retired her and her uterus at least 2 years ago. Clearly very neglected. Dropped off sans harness nor leash, no grooming whatsoever, poor thing smelled terrible (and still smells like half a wet dog after the bath we gave her), her teeth have clearly not been taken care of for many years, overweight (despite being very willing to play and run around in our super short experience), completely dry and even cracking truffle, dandruff galore. But also and most importantly, incredibly loving and trusting despite the obvious neglect, super enthusiastic around every. single. human she meets, very respectful of the cats and birds (looks at them but doesn't run up to them), my mother's shadow already. Meet Jolia in all her chaotic glory (I gave up trying to photograph her since she kept pressing her truffle right into the lens - too much excitement meeting new folks and having to pose!): Apologies for the super bright sun and my mother trying to pet her from behind to keep her a little calm. She really, really loves the camera. More in a gobble-gobble-let-me-snack-on-this than *vogue* *pose* way... 😁 But this is it. This is the memory of our first day spent together. Wouldn't change it for the prettiest portrait of her in the world. It was perfect! We're all in love. ❤️

But hey, you got a cool photo of your soon "besieging" you out of it (I'm sure you'd have preferred some extra sleep). 😉

I pulled out my PL album to get some work done on it today. I've been in the biggest crafty rut ever. I have always been really good about staying up to date (like, within a week - month) but this year I'm only complete until March. I have pictures printed after that stuck in random pockets but it is very sporadic.
PL has always been my favorite but I've been feeling..I guess a little bored with it. I do an occasional mini album and have a 6x8 to do different documenting in but have been struggling overall this year.
How is everyone else doing?

How is everyone else doing? I've been in the biggest crafty rut ever. This is currently me although today I started going through my stuff and am trying to inspire myself to do something beyond watching scrapbook videos and buying stuff. I watch all the videos, get inspired while watching the videos but then do nothing. I think now that my kid is in school I will have a little more time during the day to get stuff done hopefully.

After a real push I’m almost finished June (just need journaling printed)… I did two witl and have a trip album as well as kids albums as well to complete and…. The overwhelm is real. WE CAN DO THIS! I will be your cheerleader…. and once you get to June, maybe try something new for the next six months? Story based not date based? Greatest hits album? I tried that at the start of the year (went to a smaller size) and it’s really helped me get interested in pl again.

I'm almost done with April (2022 and 2019). I would be closer to being caught up if I wasn't working on two albums at the same time. I also took a 3 week break to finish my WITL album. I'm really hoping to get caught up before DD starts.

I am caught up - I’m even half done with this current week’s page. But my PL is the only thing that’s current/that I regularly work on. Still not done with week in the life and I started two smaller albums (a traveler’s notebook and a 6x8 album) and have one page in each.

I just caught up on several pages of this thread. Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration and suggestions. I've followed a few more people on YouTube and am inspired to get going on my September 2021 PL pages. (I'm always working at least one year behind; I prefer this.)

I'm caught up BUT I haven't worked my back through the year yet in my "actual" PL album. My memory planner, however, is up to date. It'll be a whole different story when things get busy again at the end of summer though...
I blame the cuteness galore at my mother's house with the foster dog (and possibly new foster puppy tomorrow, eep!) for getting my buttocks into motion and printing + journaling in pocket pages again. It's the small cuddly, fluffy, cute things...
For anyone wanting to Project Life along to YT videos (it's such a good way to get going - just get your photos printed, let the videos play and start messing about on your own desk), here are a few recent ones:
Amy Gretchen (currently working on her 2021 album) //
Leilani Scraps (up to date in 2022 album) //
Dearly Dee (up to date-ish in 2022 album) //
Sabrina Pool (up to date-ish in 2022 album) //
Linda Loves Creating (up to date in 2022 album) //
