In all these years I've never done a card swap. I just signed up.
Then, I went to a few of the sites mentioned here. It was like going to a foreign land. Seriously. I used to know EVERY scrapbooking product out there...20 years ago. Now, not so much. Holy overwhelming, Batman!
This will be fun!

Just realize that it really doesn’t take much paper to make cards especially if you buy card bases. I used so little in the Christmas card swaps it was kind of sad. I was hoping to use more lol.

BTW, if you're in the Puget Sound area, do you have a one stop good scrapbooking/card making store that you'd recommend? I'd love to visit one in person someday soon! Also, those who order online, do you have a favorite shop? Other than the Holiday Exchange, I don't haven't papercrafted in 14-15 years so I'm totally out of the loop. Thanks so much! There are a ton of stamping/scrapbooking companies online. Here are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Taylored Expressions (their shipping is freaky fast), Riley & Co., Technique Tuesday, Simon Says, Unity, A Jillian Vance Design, Concord and 9th, Lawn Fawn, Penny Black, Colorado Craft Co., Gina K.

Oh thank you all so much, I’m saving all these scrapbooking websites to check out (when I’ve got time to go down a serious rabbit hole). And Ryann, thanks for the south sound store recommendations as well

Ellen Hutson is based in Issaquah…I like to support her because she’s local. You can pick up for free or most times it’s around $4 to ship.
Of all the Ben Franklins I like the Redmond one for scrapbooking. They are so-so for cards. I really miss the Impress that used to be in Tukwila. You can still order from them online, but it’s not the same.

I just put in a pre-order for the new "love" themed stamps at USPS. So cute!

I signed up... I had a thought... could we just make this a yearly 'send a card as a RAK' type group?

I signed up... I had a thought... could we just make this a yearly 'send a card as a RAK' type group? I'm willing to host something like that -- let's talk about it after Valentine's Day since this group signed up specifically for Valentine's Day so far. Maybe it's a separate list we start in on the second part of February? As of this morning - 27 participants! Thanks so much for joining in everyone!

I got my post office box today and just signed up. Fortunately, I had an easier time with the online application PO Box process than I did for the 2020 Christmas Card exchange. I have pulled out my Valentine stash and have more than enough for 50 cards. I am excited.
My branch was all out of Valentine stamps, but I will try to buy them online. Do you know how many international peas have signed up?

After going back and forth for days - I’m in! I’ll be making a super simple card because believe it or not, even though I call myself a “card maker”, I have absolutely no Valentine’s Day paper, stickers or rubber stamps! I picked up some stickers at Hobby Lobby today. Now I’m off to search the internet for paper and stamps after I said I’m on a spending freeze. LOL.

I'm so excited to start working on cards, but a little frustrated with Simon Says Stamp :/ I placed an order for supplies a week ago and the order is still processing. I know, I know....patience is a virue, especially at this point in the pandemic, but I just gotta whine a little. Fingers crossed it ships soon and gets here lightening fast!
So far they're doing better than Crate and Barrel though. I placed a good-sized order there the morning of 12/25 and other than 2 items that arrived right away, the rest of it is still processing....

Simon Says Stamp is notorious for slow processing/shipping. Scrapbook.com and A Cherry on Top are both fast shippers and carry many of the same products (for future reference!). 👍🏻

I ordered a die from them about 18 months ago, but ordered it far before I needed it, so I didn't pay attention to how long it took to get to me. I'm a little aggravated about this order as I hate "crafting under pressure," KWIM?!?
