My Taylored Expressions stencil layer 4 is not lining up perfectly. If I line it up with 1 of the card fronts than is off with the other 3. I seem to have the worst luck with stencils. My TE stencils' alignment squares didn't match up, so I had to eyeball it - it turned out fine, luckily, and my C&9's stencil was a rectangle not a square so the corners didn't line up when turned clockwise for the first and third turns. Since it was a confetti look I just made it work. But man, I also got a defective PinkFresh stencil at a previous event. I loved today's cards, so pleased with them. I used the C&9's inks for the TE cards and it looks like a completely different colour palette than the C&9 cards - it's wild, it looks almost fluorescent. I'm going to make them in the more masculine colours, too, they're great cards.

I completed all the cards from yesterday and all but Mari’s from today.
My two crafty pals called it quits before Pink Fresh today. One is really a newbie and the other gets stressed easily. They were the biggest fans of Gina’s class. Both felt like it really allowed them to keep up the pace and feel accomplished, making something beautiful. I can’t imagine either of them attempting the weekend on their own. We even got together to do the homework.
I liked that Taylor and Lauren had someone else read the comments. That person can then be the gatekeeper and ignore the questions not pertinent to the instructions.
I’ll be back for the fall card event. I find them very enjoyable and love the variety.

Thank you for sharing your cards azcrafty! Beautiful work!
I wasn't able to take part in any of the classes unfortunately, because I have had some unexpected travel come up and spent the entire weekend preparing. I watched a couple classes when I took breaks and really enjoyed it, especially Amy's class. Her cards are always very interesting for me.
I won't be able to make any of the cards for at least 6 weeks unfortunately, but am slightly worried about defective products in the meanwhile. Thankfully, it looked like there weren't too many issues this time, but would love to hear if anyone has an opinion on this: do I need to check any particular products for defects now? And if I'm unable to take out the time to do so, will it matter if I reach out to SCT so long after the event? I know they have excellent customer service but don't want to push it...

I did bits of the crafting on Friday and Saturday but that was planned since I’ve been pulled into a couple different directions the last couple months. I loved the box and while I had some favorites, everything in the box impressed me (even after I vented about the Hero Arts fussy cutting requirement, I still fell in love with that bunny and have determined it was the cutest single thing in the box!)
One of the classes I did do live was The Stamp Market but I wasn’t watching the comments so I missed half of the drama. I feel terrible for Amy (and she was in the middle of moving her home and her business so she must be pulled in a hundred different directions!) but I really felt like she handled it professionally. I hope that doesn’t stop other instructors or companies from participating in the event.
One thought that I did have is that the event is so big that if you have never done it before and just show up on Friday and open your box expecting to jump in and make cards… you are going to be a little behind! Jenn from Lawn Fawn has shared a video for die cutting that should be required viewing for anyone who hasn’t successfully cut out a teeny tiny die cut cupcake (LOL). So I do feel like if you want to come out of the weekend taking all the classes live and make all the cards.. you got to do some homework!
But I love the organizing and homework and the event so I will be happily signing up for the fall event. I loved reading all your comments about the event!

I enjoyed the event, I still have the Friday classes that I have to catch up on. And I'm planning to sign up for the next one too.
I love that the instructors craft with us live , I just wish that unrelated questions would be asked and answered at the end or at the after class meeting.
I think people who are not on FB would feel more lost because that's where all the preparations for the classes are happening. I liked how people posted CP ink and SN alcohol marker comparisons so I didn't have to play around with that. But again I'm not a person who have to have the exact colors to recreate the cards.
And I agree you have to do all the homework to keep up.
I felt like that the C&9, Pinkfresh and Honeybee classes are great for beginners, maybe they should rate the classes for people so that would help beginners to decide which one to make or which ones they should prep or practice before the event. Or every class should have 1 beginner card that they start with?

My plan was to create right along with the videos but those plans changed. We have been house hunting and scheduled to tour one Thursday evening. We LOVED it. So, Friday and Saturday were spent dealing with making an offer, talking with the bank (again), and all that goes with that. Needless to say our offer was accepted and then I couldn't concentrate. So much going on in the next couple months and now we've added packing up and moving to the list of events. I was able to watch a few of the classes. I plan to take it slow and go back and actually make the projects later. I am going on a weekend scrapbook retreat in a couple of weeks and will take my box of goodies with me to work on there.

This was my 4th SCT delivered event, so I think knowing how it works/what to expect is more than half the battle. I think some participants maybe don't get the gist of it and struggle, but I don't know why ppl get so stressed out about a fun, papercrafting hobby?! I was not on FB until these events, I only joined for this. I honestly don't know my way around it, but the instructions of "just go the Guides" works just fine. I actually did post some comments in support of Amy from Stamp Market, I also missed what happened on YT bcz I was busy crafting and chatting! I do not go into the event with the intent of making all of the cards exactly as they are made by the manufacturer/teacher. I look at all the product, then my list of cards I need...this time it was a retirement card, 3 bday cards, 2 sympathy cards, and at least 1 thinking of you. So I like to learn the techniques and ideas but adapt the cards for what I need. I am sitting here trying to think if I made any of them exactly....Oh yes, Elle Studio with Meghann, who I enjoy, I made one of the Congrats cards the same to give to my nephew at end of school year. This could get lengthy, so here are a few points from my experience... - I didn't prep anything or do any homework besides separating supplies until Friday at about 3pm. I was able to cut all the paper needed and generally prep things I wanted to do.
- As I said earlier, I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of supplies and having all those mini classes, wow, it was so much product, awesome inspiration, but I knew I had to pare down to what I wanted to make vs. trying to make it all. Everyone is different, but I focused on the techniques and not always getting the full, finished card done.
- Friday - I only really finished the Elle Studio, some I will go back to, but I didn't feel like doing a ton of coloring (that's my tv time activity) or the stitching. So I actually only completed 2 cards that day.
- Kristina - I like the designs and that stamp and will go back to make that.
- Gina K - love the designs, love the layering - made all 3 cardfronts, only got 2 mounted to actual cards, adapted sentiment to use as birthday & sympathy cards.
- Stamp Market - I was really intrigued by the colors, I didn't need any thanks cards tho, so I focused on the "hooray it's your birthday". I did the hooray with the 5 color layers and stamped the separate letters different colors. I just picked inks from my stash - I didn't buy any inks for this. When I came to the "its your birthday" die, it was not cut/sized right so I couldn't use it on the sentiment. I really do want that die bcz that will probably be the only thing I use most from that kit, so I will probably email. That said, I think Amy was lovely, and she probably was trying to be too nice. Yes, the ppl repeatedly asking about discount codes and questions that only concerned them...I duno, there was a lot of entitlement flying around. But I appreciated her class, products, style, etc.
- Hero Arts - I didn't care as much for the stamps/designs, but I did like the tricks for the "fun folds". I adapted to make bday cards. I did end up coloring the bunny/flower, I also don't mind fussy cutting...or fussy cussing as VB said. Another "watching tv" activity.
- Lawn Fawn - didn't do. too tired. I do like some parts and will go back, but I am not into that big hooray separated.
- Jennifer McGuire's tips were awesome. I would actually appreciate more classes like that. I know the manufacturers are trying to sell product, but it's nice to sometimes see how to use different things.
- I ended up coloring the Angi Blom design Sunday morning and used it for a mother's day card.
- Cathy Z - I really like the designs. The confetti stencil is versatile and I like the concord & 9th colors. I made 3 cards, but I didn't do the 2nd one, I did 2 of the first style. The pop up was fun to make.
- Taylored Expression - I was really looking forward to the quad stencil, and I really like the product, technique, colors & outcome. Same as others, only my first 3 stencils aligned and the 4th did not, so I eyeballed it to make the last 4. It's not a big deal to me. I will use it again. There weren't any other designs on the site that I felt I needed to have yet, so will see.
- Pinkfresh - I really liked the quality of their products. This reminds me I kept having moments when I was realizing certain stamps/inks/paper/dies/stencils were working better than others, and I thought I really need to make some notes. But I def remember Pinkfresh products, everything worked well, easy.
- The last few classes, I just briefed over - will go back.
Overall I consider it a success, I made all the cards I needed and a few others too. I haven't had time for any scrapping/crafting in a while, so it was nice to have the focused time. All that said, I am probably not going to another supplies based event like this for a while. I just don't need that much stuff! Also - I am scrapbooker first, cards is just something I do bcz I have enough stuff.

I had friends over this weekend so I only got to make the cards for Gina ma and Amy’s classes. I watched some of the Friday classes. I will make everything over the next few months but I am out of town the next 3 weeks. I thought it was another awesome event!

I have a CC&D hangover and am going through withdrawal after 3 full days of learning, videos, and hanging out w my friends. So glad I took today off to recouperate.
I'm unpacking everything and trying to find space for my new pretties. I've checked out a couple of the websites w discount codes, but the shipping to Canada kills me (thanks usps).
We won't do the next one. I need to take a break. I still have a couple of classes from the Oct one to finish. I have 2 or 3 from Friday and Honeybee from yesterday that we didn't get to.
Catherine, Jenn, all the teachers and everyone behind the scenes did such an amazing job! Thank you so much for everything (if you get a chance to read this)! Over 2700 attendees is a lot to deal w.

Wow! What a weekend! Boy, did I sleep good last night. It's exhausting to craft so much.
First time attendee here. I was amazed at the box of supplies we received. So much goodness in there. The classes and instructors were top-notch. I've been stamping and making cards for over 25 years and I still picked up a tip or two in every class.
I went into this knowing I'm not a good "craft along with me" type. I knew I would not finish during the allotted time because I want to change a color or use a different sentiment from my stash or add some extra embellishments. Or I make a mistake and have to start over. Also, because all my cards are for donations, I hate to make one card at a time. So I made 8 of the LDRS cards and 8 of the TE cards. I'm working on 8 of the Spellbinders cards. There will be several other designs I will mass produce.
The only homework I did was organizing the supplies by day. That was a mistake. Next time I'll be better prepared. And there will be a next time. Well worth the time and money!

scrapcat the it's your birthday die doesn't work for anyone. They said to just throw it away. scrapcat during the unboxing and the meet-n-greet before class (?) they explained the manufacturer shrunk the die without permission to try to make it fit. We were told to toss it. But someone or more than one person figured out it can be used. She showed/explained it in the forum but while I thought I saved the post don’t see it. Several people said in the class chat it could be used - maybe word by word (?) - and Amy saw the comment(s) and mentioned it.

There’s always the question of how much time I want to spend working on something that’s nice but isn’t something I can imagine sending. I need to find a place to donate to, I guess. A Canadian friend/teacher who used to live in Calgary cursed Canada for tariffs/taxes added on to what was sent from the U.S. But he got bit by customs charges too because he’s an artist/business.

I really enjoyed Sundays classes. It was like Saturday was fast-paced and Sunday was slow and easy.
Right now I'm not sure I'll sign up for the fall class, but I'm sure I'll change my mind by sign up day. LOL! It's just so well run and organized, and it gets me pumped about stamping.

WOW I was a first time attendee and I had an amazing weekend!! I didn't even think to pop on here & see how everyone was doing with the classes so I'm glad we're still discussing today My BFF & I took Friday off so we could have 3 full days of crafting although we both crafted in our respective homes we chatted after every class to check on our progress. I did prepare & did my homework ahead of time. I also sorted by class so I could try to complete the majority of the cards this weekend. Friday's classes were a whirlwind! There was nothing mini about them. I definitely felt like it was Go Go Go all day (but in a good way)! I finished all the classes from Friday except for Brutus Monroe - just wasn't feeling that one. Saturday's classes were great. I'll admit I messed up the stamping in Amy's class for The Stamp Market at least 5 times as I kept leaving the masking paper on - ugh - and I'm an experienced card-maker!!! But when I finally slowed down and concentrated I finished and loved the results! I wasn't watching the comments during the live but did hear her say she was sad to hear someone was upset. I loved the pacing in Gina K's class - just a nice easy way to start Saturday morning! Finished all the cards for Saturday except the cherry card from Hero Arts - will possibly do it later but when she said we needed to fussy cut it I was out. I had already cut the other images on my scan n cut so I did have those ready to go. Saturday night I watched Jennifer McGuire's video and was just blown away by her creativity & mixing the sets - love her! Sunday - I was tired! BUT I managed to finish all the cards. really loved the Taylored Expressions stencil class. I used similar colors and thought they made nice masculine cards so I was happy to have those included. Can't wait to play more with these! The C&9, Pinkfresh & Honey Bee cards were all great too. My takeaway - I am FOR SURE signing up for the Fall events. Some of the comments and requests I saw posted were just over the top to me considering this was a huge event (like a pdf for Kristina Werner's video and clean images for logging the sets into their Evernote....really??) Overall, I was blown away at the organization and professionalism of the event and the logistics of getting everything kitted and delivered to over 2700 attendees...wow!! So impressed!!

I was finally able to relax and think about the weekend. I'm so impressed with this event. Even though it's virtual and I crafted at home alone, I never felt alone. This event was far better than the October 2021 event (I've only take 2) and the October event was mind blowing. Here's my recap... Friday- I really liked how Friday was setup this time with the mini classes. I loved all of the classes except Brutus Monroe. They just aren't my style so I actually didn't even watch. I think I can use the product in a different way and be very happy with it though.
- The Photoplay concept was very cool but my card looks like I did it with my feet! This is definitely a class that I want to redo slowly.
- Loved the Elle's Studio class so much that I placed 2 orders. I feel like I can replace the congrats with many other greetings and get multiple uses from the products.
- I liked Kristina Werners take on the stamp set. That was not what I was expecting. I also think it was good that she made the mistake in the sense that it makes her human and relatable. I was extremely impressed with how she came up with the new card on the fly with 1,200 people watching. It wasn't the card itself but it was her grace under pressure.
- I'm sure glad I'm on the west coast. I was exhausted and had a major headache by Friday night.
Saturday- I loved Gina K's class. I liked the weathered wood technique and as simple as that was, it never would have crossed my mind. I really like the daisy stencil too. I have her other mini bundles (love and hello) and her class made me want to pull out that product and use them.
- I was not wow'd by the Stamp Market class when I opened the book, in fact I was a bit disappointed. However, the finished product totally changed my mind. I really like those cards and will definitely make the Hi card again.
- I made 2 of the Hero Arts cards, both with the cherries. I'm bummed that I have to buy the coordinating die but it will push me over the $50 free shipping limit the next time I by a monthly kit. I liked fun folds but except for the cherries, the stamps did not wow me.
- I didn't attempt the Lawn Fawn class. The product just didn't impress me. Jenn is a good teacher but I'm just not a critter kind of card maker. I wish they would do interactive cards instead of critters.
- I don't think Jennifer McGuire has thick enough skin to teach live, but I really wish she'd do a pre-recorded class like Cathy Z. Her take on the product was great. I like that she tries to give ideas for getting more use out of your supplies in almost every video she does.
Sunday- I really liked the Cathy Z class and was so glad it was pre-recorded. I like to pause the video so I can catch up. I really wish more teachers did this. Her cards were a bit basic but it was easy to step up the cards a bit. On a side note, I purchased the entire set of C&9 ink cubes. I really really love the colors and the way they stamp.
- I'm really glad we got the quad stencil in the Taylored Expressions class. That's a very innovative product and of all the quad stencils they have, ours is the only one I like. I could have sworn that someone said they got a quad circle stencil in the TE event. I'd like to see that one.
- I really liked the Pink Fresh product and class. I'm a huge Laura Bassen fan and thought she did great for a first time teacher at this event.
- I didn't watch the Honey Bee class. I really tried but I was just too exhausted from the weekend and just didn't have the energy. I really like all the product so I'll probably do it next weekend.
Here are a couple suggestions I have: - If the class is live, the teachers need a moderator for the comments so they aren't distracted. What happened to Amy should not happen again. It wasn't fair to the other 2,690 students that a handful were frustrated and upset. Heck, Laura Bassen had her daughter moderate for her which was great. I also liked that Taylor would say, "I already answered that" and move on when repeat questions were coming in.
- If possible, before enrolling, the class descriptions should have some sort of skill level attributed to them (beginner, intermediate, advanced). In all honesty, the two cardmaking events I attended weren't for beginner stampers. If you don't know what masking is, this event is too advanced for you. If you don't know how to partial die cut, this event is too advanced for you. The teachers just can't stop and help a handful of people with that when there are 2,700 students.
- If a class has an advanced type technique, the teacher should link a couple existing Youtube videos once the Facebook group opens. I'm not saying they need to create some new content but geez, there's hundreds of videos that show partial die cutting and masking. They made a point to say how the cardmaking community rally behind each other, so suggesting an existing video shouldn't be an issue.
- Make it clear that students need to be able to navigate Facebook and Youtube without assistance. It's really not that hard.
- After the event, send out a final email with all the links to the Youtube classes. I know they did that last year but I think that's because their website went down. I hope they do it again.
As for the students/attendees...they need to stop and read the room too. My goodness some were very self absorbed. Stop asking where things are located. How many times were we told to go to the guides section! Not one post about not finding the class was necessary. They are all pinned to the top within seconds of going live. The repeated asking about discount codes was ridiculous. catherinesct and team went above and beyond being professional with answering the repeat questions. All in all, this was such a well put together event and well worth the cost. For me, of the 18 classes, only two were misses. That's a pretty darn good percentage in my opinion. Also, the fact that they can get 2,700 people together virtually and still make it seem like you're in a room with everyone is unbelievable. It sounds like they are going to start back with in person events in 2023 which bums me out. I won't travel for this so I'm totally going to have FOMO. I hope going back to in person events doesn't lower the bar for the virtual event if they continue. As of right now, I'm 75% sure I'll sign up for the fall event. I want to see who is teaching before I commit 100%. For any peas on the fence about attending, do it! If you set your expectations realistically, you will not be disappointed. Kudos to the entire SCT team and all the teachers!

pinklady I agree with your suggestions. Hopefully catherinesct will pop in and see them. I think it also should be made known to attendees before signing up that the classes are fast paced. Discount codes and stock availability should be discussed in the FB after class meeting only. I thought 30 minutes in between classes was too long. Maybe 15 minutes between class/FB Live for classes 1 and 2, a 30 minute "lunch" break, then classes 3 and 4 with a 15 minute break in between those. I had a lot of down time. Which is funny because the first event last March I barely had time to eat and use the restroom.

I wish the discount codes lasted a week longer than the event. I make a list of what I like that I see during the classes and then want to purchase the items. Many were already expired by the event or expired the last day and I haven't had time to review my list from the weekend.

pinklady, thanks to your post I looked up how to make a partial die cut (hurray), and have moved masking up the list of ALLLLL the stamping stuff I need to learn how to do well too. Thank you again to you all for everything you’ve shared. I’m excited to sign up or the fall event. Has anyone done the holidays one? What did you think? Not sure it’s for me since I’m not Christian, but I’d love to hear about it! Oh also, if anyone has the Jennifer McGuire cards done, I’d love to see them. I generally like her style.

MichyM There were four classes each day. The class part was 90 minutes on the schedule and the FB live after was about 30 minutes. (ETA- so 2 hours with each instructor). The program started a 7am PDT with an kick-off with Catherine and GinaK (who hosted in Gina's craft room) and the wrap-up was at 5 pm PDT.

pinklady , thanks to your post I looked up how to make a partial die cut (hurray), and have moved masking up the list of ALLLLL the stamping stuff I need to learn how to do well too. The holiday event was mostly scrapbooking - we did make one holiday card with Cathy Z that I loved - so simple and easy. We made a small scrapbook and used a whole 12x12 sheet of stickers! I was so tickled - I have never done that before. I also did the fall card event and there were a couple holiday cards, general cards - birthday, thinking of you, thanks. Very fast paced, I still haven't done some of them, but we do have access to the videos for a year, so I'm okay with that. We had a thread about those - 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/120398/crop-inspire-create-worth-price - there are lots of photos in that thread. Happy reading!

I did the Papercrafting in late November last year ... not nearly as much product but a couple of whole collections sets of paper. Mostly mini albums., travelers notebooks - a couple of layouts (that were really pretty elementary). I took all the paper and incorporated them into my "regular" paper files _ I wasn't interested in the layouts presented and I decided a long time ago that, as much as I enjoy building a mini-album, I just don't use them -- I am not recalling anything that was special (Vicki Boutin did a mixed media double page with her collection.
I will say that Elle's Studio shipped product FAST -- I ordered on the 26th (right after the class) and I received my box today! I'm impressed at that kind of response for a small store.

MichyM you can replay them after the live. We didnt want to start at 8am MST so we just watched the replays. It allowed us to pause to work on stuff and start up again when we got caught up.
