Big old hypocrite!!! What known.. what isn't....?!?!? As the Daily Beast recalls, DesJarlais is the Republican official whose ex-wife had two abortions and he demanded his mistress to have an abortion. Yet, he maintains he's 100 percent pro-life.Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-TN), a physician, has been very quiet over the past week since the Supreme Court eliminated a woman's right to privacy over her healthcare. www.rawstory.com/scott-desjarlais-abortion/

I just bought my first piece of abortion merchandise. I spent a lot of time looking for something that I could actually feel comfortable wearing in public. I also wanted to make sure that it supported a verified group that helps women seeking abortions. My state of MN is going to have to really step it up to assist women from our surrounding states. I bought a shirt that supports an organization located in Fargo. They will get $7 from my purchase. I know that I could donate the total amount to them, but I feel the need to publicly send a message that abortion is healthcare and a human right. While I wanted to get one that said, "Abortion You Betcha!" I went with a shirt that says "Abortion is a Human Right." The clinic that is the lone ND abortion provider in Fargo is moving across the Red River and into Moorhead, MN. I am going to make a donation to that clinic. In addition to only adding a few minutes onto the drive for a woman from ND, it is going to be helpful to the women in Minnesota who use that clinic. Both of my kids attended or currently attend college in the Fargo/Moorhead communities. I'm going to concentrate my efforts on that area. If you are looking to do something like this, check out this site. Abortion Merch

In case you're wondering how this whole mess is being viewed by people in other countries....... I listen to a lot of Australian women-run podcasts, and all of them have been taking about Roe V Wade. So much sadness and anger! Then yesterday my DD sent me a message to say that she had just had a cry about it. I told her that I tend to lean more to the incandescent rage, but I understand her need to cry. I walked with a friend yesterday and went off on a C bomb-laden rant about SCOTUS. If the cap fits.....

Can someone explain to me why I keep reading about the need to codify Roe versus Wade into law. How can that be done right now and is it at all even remotely likely to happen?

I just don't think it can be done. You would need Manchin & Sinema to go along with this and I don't see that happening. We need to hold the Democrat seats and flip a couple in November. That is how I interpret all of this. We can't be distracted with conversations about whether Joe Biden should run again in 2024. We can't waste time talking about what Obama should have done during his term. We need to do well in the elections this fall. I am telling people that I am a single issue voter. I live in a state where our Supreme Court ruled that abortion is a right in our state. It would take many years of Republican leadership in MN for that to change. I don't care. I am still a single issue voter. I am voting straight blue for probably the rest of my life.
