MA has securities in place at the state level that will protect women in the event Roe v. Wade is overturned. Abortion will remain legal here, but other states have passed "trigger laws" to immediately ban them if it's overturned. I hope those states are ready for the repercussions of that bullshit.

Child support starts at 25% of your gross income, from what I hear. Okay great. But what about when baby daddy is an unemployed 15-16-17 year old who hasn’t even graduated high school yet? Or someone older than that with no verifiable income? Go after the parents for child support since they are responsible for children under 18.

But my thought is that in order to hold the fathers accountable the rights of males would also have to be infringed because paternity tests would likely need to be done to determine for certain who should have to pay. And do you really think that a rich old white dude is going to stand for that if it’s his son (or like Trump, he himself) that got some girl pregnant? I honestly don’t see that happening.

All I can say is I hope this wakes a whole hell of a lot of people up and releases a Democratic kraken come November.

Child support payments need to begin as soon as a positive test is given. The man must pay 50% of the medical costs. There needs to be a court order at the hospital once they prove paternity for every baby with unmarried parents. Middle class woman have the means to fight for child support, but woman with less means tend to not get any. I work with kids in the CHINS system. Most dads are not paying support for these kids. Once the state goes after them, all of a sudden they have to pay. Why do these poor young moms have to have the knowledge, money and time to fight for the dad to pay. Why do we let it be a “fight” at all? It should be automatic for both parents.

What about women who were raped and don't know who it was? What about women who are threatened to keep quiet? What about middle upper class white males who get away with everything? Or young girls who were molested and rapped by family members and threatened. (This happened to a friend)
Until the entire system is fixed, going after the dads won't help. It will help some.

Sadly all of this only compounds the problem especially in states where they even want to ban it in situations exactly like this.

All I can say is I hope this wakes a whole hell of a lot of people up and releases a Democratic kraken come November. Has it significantly changed polling for TX or other states that are busily blocking access to abortion care? I fear that until it hits close to home, many women voters will vote to go along to get along with regards to the GOP.

Time to start the impeachment process with that tool, Kavanaugh. Someone needs to get to the bottom of who paid off all his debt, including his big mortgage...

What about women who were raped and don't know who it was? There will always be instances where we don’t know who the father is, we do what we can. What about women who are threatened to keep quiet? Treat these woman with the care we should all woman going through abuse. If they say they don’t know who it is, see above. If they say they can’t say, offer help, like THEY ALREADY DO in hospitals. What about middle upper class white males who get away with everything? This would apply to ALL babies. Or young girls who were molested and rapped by family members and threatened. See above situation, and maybe more rapists would go to jail. (This happened to a friend) There are always going to be “what abouts”. But this would help so many woman who for the most part, take on the entire burden of raising children in lower class communities. Until the entire system is fixed, going after the dads won't help. It will help some. If men are actually held responsible, they may have more reason to fix the system. It is easy not to care when it doesn’t effect you.

So if they go after birth control, does that include vasectomies?

All the wealthy, white, GOP dads better make sure their precious daughters who get pregnant have those babies whether or not daddy approves of the father.

They are going to overturn it. That is what the three Trump justices were put on the court to do. It means that immediately in half the country you will not have legal abortion. Someone ought to charge the 3 liars with perjury as they all lied under oath.
I know that won't happen, and I suspected them as being liars at the time.

Interesting that the RW media/politicians are bitching about the leak instead of popping champagne and dancing in the streets.
I mean - this is the moment they’ve been righteously working towards for decades, right? Why isn’t their immediate reaction to crow about their victory? 🧐

In addition to getting all Democrats to vote, we need Republicans who are also against the overturning of Roe to understand the seriousness of this and vote like the get it as well.

All the wealthy, white, GOP dads better make sure their precious daughters who get pregnant have those babies whether or not daddy approves of the father. They’ll just pay to their daughter to have a “spontaneous abortion”. It’s never going to be their daughters or sons at risk. They’ll threaten and harass any girls their sons get pregnant

Doesn’t matter because the majority of people are located in a minority of states, which means we cannot control how the senate votes. And everyone hoping this will change voting attitudes in November is fooling themselves. A lot of the most ardent anti-choice voters are women. Especially older white women in suburban and rural areas. We are well and truly screwed, y’all.

Since when does the GQP support what the majority wants. It is only me, me and total control of women!!!!

I worry that they want us to turn into a country that gives no rights to women. Like the American taliban.
So they want to ban abortions, but they don't want gun control. They respect the right to own a gun over the lives of people.
They also don't want free birth control (or in some cases, ANY birth control) or any sort of assistance that will help a woman who is forced to go through an unwanted pregnancy (welfare, food stamps, etc) Exactly
If they are "pro-life" and have no trouble telling people what to do with their bodies, why not require men to donate blood as often as possible and donate a kidney. I bet they don't want to invade men's bodies.

How many time has the GQP said they fear Shira laws... Just look where they are truly taking us... Old white men Shira law!! They seem to love it and want to be exactly like them. I can't imagine what happened to these Republicans in their life that make them fear and hate women so much.
