Hi team members! I haven't touched my supplies in a month I think... hoping today is the day! Visitors have left, so back to the "normal" grind of a 7 day work week (this week. yuck) and a DH on crutches (popped his achilles, long recovery ahead). Guess I'd better take photos for that memory.
I'm SO glad Sketchtember is around the corner...that usually gets my MOJO running.

Wow I can’t believe how fast my summer has flown by!
After our elongated trip to MN (changed 2 trips into one due to 10 day delay in departure for trip due to Covid), I had 3 days at home before my Alaska trip. Absolutely incredible. Home for 4.5 days now off to MN again. Did start my sketchember example Friday night but that’s it for crafting in forever. May have some down time while at the cabin, have supplies along! 😊

angel97701 -I hope your trip is going well and you've snuck in some scrappy time! Is everyone getting ready for Sketchtember? I'm looking forward to 30 days of sketchy inspiration. But before that - I'll total up my August points so it won't be a big task at the end of the quarter. (umm...like it was last quarter - oops)

Hey team! I'm looking forward to Sketember as well! I made up a bunch of page kits with LAST years sketches to take to a crop and well, they are still there waiting. So this year I will just use the same page kits and switch out the sketches. I hope to get lots done in September since I've gotten what feels like nothing done at all this year. I would like to finish the quarter with a bang. I also need to find some kind of crafting Something since I'm a team leader next quarter. Ack!! LOL. I hope everyone is having a good weekend and Linda I'm going to get my points tallied for the month too. I helps so much at the end.

angel97701 - take care - how is the knee? I really want to do a Chicago trip next year - it's a 7 hour drive. I need to try to arrange it when you are in MN, and then make that extra drive to see you! joyfulnana - I wish you lived closer! I think you and I are synched up in our productivity levels. Alas, tallying up my August points is going to be rather quick. However, I am feeling a spark of creativity again... My co-worker remarked this week about work "burn out" and listed off symptoms. I identify with many but the one that struck home was "loss of enjoyment in normal hobbies" - yeah, I have had ZERO interest in baking, reading, crafting, or any of my little fun things. So I'm really glad that I feel the cloud is lifting a bit!

No time to scrap or craft the last month, so it will be easy to do points for August . . . But lots of activities to take photos of great activities. So plenty of photos to scrap when I finally have some time! We are back at the lake, we will be leaving in the next few days. DH has a business trip to LAX on 9/5, yes the evening of Labor Day returning on Friday evening. It looks like he will not be going to the Buccaneer national sailboat race, which makes for a calmer September. I have signed up for the Scrapbookcom event for 9/16-17. Mayb"a few" supplies from Scrapbook.com. My Mom and I might go to a CKC!!! Mostly to spend time together, and for me to have break from DS. Not that many vendors, no classes that we are interested in taking. We plan on doing one evening crop. I'm going to post on the general scrapbooking board to see if anyone has done a CKC this year. Knee is going better and I've SUP three days when the lake was smoother. I scored at Costco, the $300 4-person floating tow toy was $125 last week. Complete with pump and ski rope! We had some fun on that last week while friends were here. Warm weather and warm water here at Gull Lake. Once I'm home I will need to get going on Sketchtember projects. Looking forward to time in my craft room!

joyfulnana - the great thing about the sketches is they'll be there when you have time for them - I love going back and revisiting sketches I've used before or catching up on ones I've missed. kitbop - I'm glad that things are getting easier and hopefully you'll be back in the swing of things you enjoy soon. angel97701 - I'm glad that the knee is improving. Sounds like lake life has agreed with you. I bet you DO have some awesome summer photos!

"loss of enjoyment in normal hobbies" Interesting, because that's how I've been feeling, no interest in much actually. I attributed a lot of that to the heat we had. It just sapped everything out of me. I'm looking forward to all the sketches this month.

Is everyone excited for the last month of the quarter? I know life (for me at least) gets busier in the 4th quarter between October birthdays (2/3 of my kids plus my sister), the various holidays, and school stuff kicking into gear so I feel like this might be my last month to really focus on scrapping until the new year.

My Sept will still be pretty quiet, we get some milder weather where I can get out in the garden, and then back to cold like today which has a bitter wind. I'm hoping to do all the sketchtember sketches (I'm hosting so already have a head start with 5 of them done ) and then by Oct I'm usually burnt out and ready to take a bit of a break before the craziness that is Christmas.

I am just over 200 miles from home! First chores, unloading RV, laundry, cleaning, a few items to purchase for DS back to school, get DH on his flight to LAX on Monday evening for a week of meetings, get DS started in school, THEN it’s craft time! I’ve had very little this summer, so now I’ve really got the itch to get some creative time’

Wow I am loving all the sketches this year! Thank you to all you are hosting, it's definitely getting the mojo going again. I joined in the crop Saturday night - that was a much needed push to stay focused and scrapping. Except that I was working on my sketchy Saturday sketch for October lol. But that's finished and I'm ready to dig into these sketches.
The weather has cooled for the next couple days and that has me wanting to scrap more. I don't know what it is about the heat - even though I'm inside where it's cool it still sucks everything out of me lol. I'm looking forward to fall.

Chinagirl828 - good luck with the sketches and thank you for hosting! joyfulnana - scrapping is scrapping whether it's for sketchtember or not angel97701 - hopefully you'll have some crafty time soon I was able to scrap on Saturday and am hoping to get to it tonight also. I'm way behind on Sketchtember and I usually manage to stay mostly caught up. How is the rest of the Paper Posse team doing?

I started a volunteer job in a second grade classroom on Sept. 6th. All the fun of being with the kids, none of the planning. I'm usually the game center. The real teacher's aide just went on maternity leave, so the teacher asked if I could come for math in addition to reading and add a fourth day. I couldn't resist, so for another month I'll be busier. I need to do my August Project Life. I have the photos in the pockets but I have yet to do any matting, embellishing and journaling on those. I also need some cards in the next two weeks.

jjpeapea - that sounds like a fun volunteer position - I know I enjoyed helping in DD's K classroom - I usually listened to the students read one on one.

So a month later I am back again! Not sure which is more true, either this has been a really busy season for me, or I should not be signing up for challenges when others are depending on me (for points). But I do not like to fail the Paper Posse and I did make 9 cards in the last month. The last ones are my favorites because as it turns out, when I have a limited amount of stuff to work with I have more imagination! It was a self-imposed limit. By what date to we need to list our points Linda?

FurryP - it's fine to get busy and not participate as much as you would like or even at all. This is for fun and not designed to provide guilt. Quarter ends September 30th - grammadee will want our team points total within a couple of days so lets aim for October 1st or 2nd for final totals

I'm BACK!!! Finally got chores done and started getting my craft back on! I got my sketches done to host for Wednesdays, #7 and #14. Have the plan and photos edited for #21. I am focusing on my Hawaii album from last November. It's been fun to see how I can use the sketches for the few things that I have 1 or 2 photos. It has encouraged me to include these in the album as part of the story. Mostly caught up on counting points except crafting and organization hours. Have a few layouts to finish that I worked on at the cabin, but Sketchtember has my full attention. It may be the 16th, but I am pretty happy I have 7 done and ideas for photos for at least 3 more!
I ALSO did Scrapbook.com's SBCFest today and plan to do so tomorrow. Free live (pre-recorded) classes. Of course you could by the supplies they were using or use your own. I showed some restraint, and focused on Simon Hurley's items. I'm glad I did as his class was the one I learned the most info during. Started three of the four cards he did and class, but want to finish with my own sentiments. When I needed to step away I put the live stream on pause, and then came back and increased the speed to 2X on YouTube until I caught up. Worked great. DH was understanding as well.
Have had ups and downs with DS, last weekend was a doozy. DH was on a business trip 9/5-9, and then the &Z%$*&% hit the fan. Wrote a letter to the neuropsychologist for errors made in his report late last spring. Also have emails out to school, and to others.
It feels so good to be back in my space with all my supplies. I've been able to locate most things quickly, but a few things I had to search for like my journaling system from Creative Memories. Also found some great paper when working on #2 Kraft pp. It will come in handy for the other photos that don't feature predominately green or blue from Hawaii!
I really should go to bed!

Signups are posted for Quarter Four - you know you want to sign up again. I did even though my 4th quarter looks super busy - every time I don't sign up, I regret it.
Sorry for not being too active here lately - the past 3 weeks have been a bit of a mess here - DD15 broke her wrist, then DH and DD were sick for a week, then DD15 fell out of the bathtub and smacked her head on the tile floor, and now I'm on crutches with a bum knee...hoping for a little less excitement going forward

Oh Linda so sorry to hear about all the excitement! Hopefully it calms down and everyone heals up! I've been working this week, and not sleeping well which is not a good combo. Plus we had dinner guests last night and I had a workshop to help plan for DS's financial future as a Special Needs kiddo from 6-7:30. Just crammed an evening together! I had hope to scrap a little more and have most of the photos planned for the sketches I want to do. There are a couple that are more troublesome. I am rarely a 1-2 photo a layout person, and that seems to be the predominant theme. The fact that I am focused on my Hawaii album, I haven't been looking at other options. I am not working tomorrow . . . so scrap day for me?

Happy Friday! I'm signed up for Q4 even though this whole year has been meh creative wise. I hope things are calming down for folks as we head into the busiest time of year for a lot of us.
I have some sketches and photos paired up that I would love to get to this weekend. I ran out of ink to print photos which put a wrench in some of my plans. I'm not sure what my weekend holds as far as DGS but fingers crossed I have a good chunk of time. It's finally fall here and that makes me so happy lol.

Thanks Chinagirl828 and jjpeapea angel97701 - that sounds like a busy day - hopefully you've found some creative time since. I sometimes use the sketches with just 1-2 photos as one page of a two-page layout with plenty of photos on the other page. joyfulnana - hopefully this'll be a scrappy weekend for you. I'm hoping to catch up on housework some if my knee cooperates and maybe scrap next week a little

I've been working this week LOL, I read this and had to do 5 seconds of "reorientation" because my brain is still in Summer and I was trying to figure out how you could be teaching right now ?!?!?! I'm so sorry you haven't been sleeping! I'm signed up for Q4. Yeah, not so scrapbook productive anymore (could this be a permanent shift? I hope not!) but I did make many cards to give as gifts or for co-workers.

Just a reminder that we're rapidly approaching the end of the quarter and I'll need your points in early October. If you're trying for the Sketchtember completion bonus - the bonus points count towards your 3rd quarter total but any layouts done the first week of October towards the bonus -their individual points go towards the 4th quarter.
We're in the cone of uncertainty for Ian - it should just be a tropical storm by the time it comes anywhere near us as we're about as far inland as you can get in Floria -but there's always the chance we'll lose power and/or internet so I might be a bit scarce if that happens...I don't pea well on my phone - the screen and the 'keyboard' are too small.

Prayers that you stay safe Linda! We will understand if you are not around! I don't know if I will get to all the sketches even by the first week of October . . . . Ack! Only have 13 done so far and photos for 2 more printed. My printed just warned me I am running low on ink, I have cartridges coming soon! I am struggling with a few, and just haven't had time to play. You know real life, chores, yard work, laundry, soccer games, cooking dinner! Worked 3.5 days last week, and sticking with only 2 this week so maybe some time tomorrow? Thursday is filled with appointments. Struggling to sleep, and that makes me even less likely to craft because I am too tired.
