Just finished watching and I guess it is good I have not liked any of the Christmas Paper Collection releases for far because I think I am going to want a fair amount of this AE DD release. Looking forward to enjoying the sneaks!

Well damnit! I don't want to go the 10x8 route but I want that Santa album. Actually I NEED it I love that my kids can see Santas that look like them on it. I'll likely be a rule breaker and do 6x8 pages in a 10x8 album. Maybe I'll throw in a few larger photos too, it could be fun! I'm going to watch the live after bedtime and likely see way too many other items that I want. Thanks sleepingbooty for the stills, that was a nice holdover until I can catch the real thing.

I only had a chance to pop in here and there during the live. What was said about album options? What does “no smaller sizes” mean? Hopefully 6x8 isn’t considered a small size! First of all, thanks Booty for your sleuthing! You rock. I am dying to know what Lisa is holding up that has those colorful stars on it. They said the reason they aren't doing 4X6 or 3X8 albums this year is because they just don't sell as well. Lisa said there is a 3X8 album in the shop that has stars inside and it will be good for DD if you want that route. Also Citrus Twist is the master of the 4X8 albums and now with their 6X8s, they've got it covered. I personally do not like a buildable album. I have gone that route in the past for travel albums and they are not sitting well on my shelf. Now, they do not have the rings that AE sells so a thicker cover and sturdier rings may make it work. But that 4X4 with the travel collection was cute. Love what people did with it. I haven't watched the live YET, but I wonder if the star sneak is an album cover or inside?

That santa album is pretty damn cute! I don't do enough in my life nor do I have the means to print full page sheets to ever warrant a 10x8 album though.

For those who don't wish to commit to a December Daily album while still doing a daily project, there is a simple solution (using your regular yearly album or a Christmas volume album to which you add some pages every December): make 1 December recap page with 1 thing for each day written down (using a calendar design or a simple numbered days list) + add the big stories you do wish to preserve more in depth behind this recap page. Some years, you'll be busy with regular life and only have a couple stories like Christmas Day and a special night out. Others, you will be able to relax and document all the gifts you purchased, your Starbucks holiday drink reviews and the neighbourhood decorations as well. You still get to play along without burdening yourself. I really think the actual daily part of the project is sustainable and accessible within a simple Project Life album or using way less physical (and mental) space for anyone who wants to. Don't be afraid of adapting, downsizing or trying out something you haven't seen anyone else do on social media (or elsewhere)! ❤️🎄❤️ Last year was my first DD ever. I wanted to try something new. Prior to that I always just made 12x12 layouts and placed them in dd' and ds' regular albums. That is what I am doing again. DD was fun but I don't have the space for multiple DD albums. That is why I am not doing it again. Plus the stories repeated in the kids albums. I have been thinking of ways to be creative and outside the box for my regular 9x12 pocket page albums for the kids while having everything be safe inside the pockets.

And we also have our first bits of pop culture news... Children and teens of the 1990s, rejoice, The Backstreet Boys are finally putting out a Christmas album! A Backstreet Christmas will be released on October 14. Tracklist includes classics like White Christmas, Winter Wonderland, Silent Night, O Holy Night and more. The Hallmark Channel has already revealed their Countdown to Christmas 2022 teaser. Cosy sweater vibes! ETA: And yes, there's a Rockettes Christmas movie this year... On the Netflix front, we're going to get some good stuff and more 1990s/early 2000s nostalgia: they've hired some big names from that era for their Christmas movies this year including Freddie Prinze Jr, Heather Graham, Jason Biggs and Lindsay Lohan. They are also producing another Christmas-themed Norwegian mini series, Christmas Tomorrow which was filmed in Oslo (strangers are stranded at the airport the day before Christmas) and an Italian mini series called I Hate Christmas which is an adaptation of the 2PR fave, Norwegian Home For Christmas (woman lies to family about having a boyfriend and must find one in time for Christmas with the fam').

Thanks sleepingbooty for this thread. It's my favorite too! I tried a 10x8 album last year. The pages are too long. They are starting to tilt and lean in my album, so the paper is starting to warp. The album is less then a year old. So I am definitely going back to 6x8. Good to know the 8x10 album size has issues. I was thinking a larger size might be fun to try this year but maybe not unless I go all digital and do a photo book. Not a fan of the orange red either in the AE sneaks but liking the numbers and alphas. I'm kinda surprised she went that route after everyone disliked the tomato albums a couple of years ago. I'm desperately behind on DD. I have about 1/2 finished for 2020 and zero started for 2021 but I doubt that will stop me from attempting 2022.

I feel like the santas are a ripoff of Kelly's, so not so thrilled about those. I like the wooden stars, getting a scandi vibe. Looks like there are some large red acrylic words in the main kit. So all in all, I like what I see. The colour scheme reminds me of wrapping paper from rifle a few years ago. I like it but will be challenging. I anticipate the need to convert a lot of photos to B&W just to make them work.

I really like the style of the artist that Ali Edwards uses for stamps and for the Santa drawings. I'm not buying a whole lot of physical products, but I just like looking at what he creates. I had to look him up. He's very talented! www.matthewtaylorwilson.com/

I can totally see wanting those Santas for your kids! As an Hispanic growing up in the 1960s, it would have been nice to have seen someone with my skin tone and heritage featured in mainstream merchandise. I wonder if the images will show up in any of the other products. I've never even done December Daily, but I did Week in the Life for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. I may dip into some of the products once I see everything that's offered.

I enjoyed watching Ali's lives and getting the sneak peeks. I get really excited about Christmas fairly early, usually starting in August as I plan my Christmas projects.
I won't do December Daily this year now that it's just me and my husband at home for Christmas, but I'll definitely do some extra pages in my PL for it. I'll wait to decide on products until I see Elle's Studio and Citrus Twist, too. I always use one of these three companies.

I did an 8x10 DD last year. While I love the design of the album, I just didn't enjoy the size. So while I really wanted to like the Santa album I just don't. I don't like the 8x10 and I don't care for those Santas. I don't know why but they creep me out.lol And please with those awful buildable albums.
However...I fear my wallet is in danger. 😊 So many of the AE DD 2022 release looks and sounds amazing. I'm really, like reeeeaaaaly, interested in that Pam Baldwin Christmas past thingy.lol
(Sigh) I have a feeling that with all the items I want from this release, the change in packaging, the almost guaranteed rise in shipping costs etc that spending Christmas in Bali would actually save me money.lol

I watched that Amanda video- she had some great ideas. I’d never heard of her before. I’ve never done December daily - it wasn’t really a thing when I was last scrapbooking. I think I would have loved to do an album when my girls were home. Now it seems a bit much for me - gosh, her album looked like a lot of work!! I could see myself maybe doing one of citrus twists 4x8 albums someday. I think I would get bored doing DD every year, though as we really just do the same things every year? I’ll stick with my plan to do just include some extra pages in my PL and then it will morph into something bigger like my WITL did and I should have just made a darn separate album!! 😂

Looking at everything from last year in the sale.. jeez they didn't sell out of much huh edit, damn the 2020 felt folio is $2.99! that's the folio + blank notebook, not too shabby. and the price of that my story 3x8 album keeps decreasing lol. Last time I saw it I feel like it was at $10? $7.50 for the album +15 page protectors is calling my name but that extra $6 in shipping isn't. I don't know why it bothers me so much! If it was $12.50 total for the album I'd be like "oh man throw that bad boy in my cart" and go on with my life Just FYI looks like there are only 12 felt folios with bonus notebook left if you wanted to snag one… Not enabling at all 😆

I just finished watching the sneaks video, and thought it was interesting that they made a point of saying that there were several different shades of red (and green) in the kits and add-ons, and that not everyone likes the same shade of red. And Ali made a point of saying there would be “warm reds and cool reds”. So I guess they know where we all stand

Just finished watching and I guess it is good I have not liked any of the Christmas Paper Collection releases for far because I think I am going to want a fair amount of this AE DD release. Looking forward to enjoying the sneaks! Same! Now I am glad I don’t like the Pinkfresh Holiday collection this year, since I liked several of the sneaks Ali and Lisa showed. Still not keen on the tomato red color, but loving the felt “pokeballs,” patterned vellum stars (loved the hearts from last year), die cut page inserts, the papers that were shown, etc. I like that the icons have a scandi feel, and include kraft elements. There appears to be a fair amount of black in the collection, so now I’m thinking the Scrapbook.com black velvet album would be a good choice—will have to see what this year’s DD 6x8 albums look like. I am also really intrigued to see what the Stories of Christmas Past kit looks like, since I used last year’s 10x8 album to start a Christmas through the years album

I haven't watched the live YET, but I wonder if the star sneak is an album cover or inside? I thought the multi colored star design that Lisa showed was one of the 10x8 papers. She showed it when Ali was showing how the papers came in a kraft cardboard envelope.

I'm so not ready to think about DD when my WITL album isn't complete! I picked the 10x8 album and the photo printing ran into a snafu. So it's unlikely that I will pick that size for my DD this year.
Add me to the side that doesn't like the orangey red. Sorry ma'am that's not the right color for Christmas!
So far nothing has completely won me over but I know it's early. I thought I remember hearing that FJ would have earlier sneaks/ordering this year? Anyone know? Not having a FYC option this year will definitely leave a void.

So I searched for felt circles on Etsy...
I haven't bought a full AE kit in years because I usually only like the embellishments. The kits have gotten so pricey.
I'm starting to prepare. I can definitely sew felt circle pockets.
In the past few years I've just bought add-ons and not the full kit. I have so much stuff from doing DD for so many years. And I'm really liking the Cookies for Kringle line and the Simple Stories baking stuff. I like whimsy and mixed drinks.
Cookies for Kringle reminds me of Marie Lottermoser. Oh how I miss her shares.

Anybody got must-buys yet from either the new scrapbook lines or first DD sneaks? I'm going to keep it very blunt + honest here and say that I've enjoyed looking at the new collections and seeing those first official sneaky peekies but the only thing my Christmas brain is currently obsessed with is the "honey badger" (ahem, skunk) from Crate Paper's Mittens & Mistletoe... That's all for me (for now). Waiting to see the Paislee Press mini kit from AE!

Also, Ali's reason why gram gives us a much better look at the multi-ethnic Santas. It looks like this design will make it beyond the album cover (I saw a couple of these Santa heads on a dark green card in the very first sneak). https://www.instagram.com/p/CgkHbciuLFc

Also, Lisa didn't hold it in a weird way that would imply album shape. I think it's a paper as well.

Anybody got must-buys yet from either the new scrapbook lines or first DD sneaks? I know they're so weird but I'm buying the Christmas tree tassles from Crate Paper. I wish they were two for $4 instead of 4 for $8. I won't use 4 of them. Maybe I'll make some earrings. I've been doing a good job of adding stuff to my cart then deciding that I don't need it and removing it. Waiting for the AE stuff to make my final decisions. I hope they sneak the albums before the one that's in my cart at ACOT sells out. Definitely not doing 10X8. Keeping with 6X8.

Anybody got must-buys yet from either the new scrapbook lines or first DD sneaks? The only thing I know I'll get is the SB.com green 6x8 velvet album. Based on the offerings though, I'll be using my stash + Paper Person. This will be my 13th DD album. 13!!!

Anybody got must-buys yet from either the new scrapbook lines or first DD sneaks? I can't recall anything I absolutely have to have. I've still got a couple of albums stashed in a cupboard, and if I don't love anything that is released this year I might pull one of those out. If I'm not feeling either of those my back up plan is to order a plain coloured 6x8 from CT. My Christmas stash is down to basically nothing so I'm definitely looking for something new this year.

This year I’m doing a black and bronze theme using ae items I got on mega clearance from a couple of years ago. For next year I scored a complete 2014 kit with album to use second hand (so much value in those older kits!) I’ve also picked up a heap of the 2021 individual items to add to my stash in the recent sale…. More and more I’m thinking that being a year behind WORKS for me as I can watch peoples completed albums using the kits without having to stalk them on YouTube. But I’ll still watch all the content this year to get more ideas of course 😁

I really like VB’s Evergreen and Holly line. I used Warm Wishes last year and they appear to wow well together. I’m planning on using the 6x8 album that’s from that collection too. I need something quick and easy this year after making full blown memory books for the past two years.
