I really like the size of those Elle's Studio numbers, but I wish they weren't in red, and I quite like the puffy hearts and stars and the chipboard words. Overall though I find her stuff fits best with my style when I mix it with my stash, and her colour scheme is too tradition for my preference.

I just remembered Elle's Studio doesn't ship to the EU (despite not saying so in their FAQ). I just had a major disappointment trying to purchase stuff from the summer Disney release on their website. Silly moi forgot. *shakes head*

Going to tag julie5 just in case she's back in the documenting swing because those tiny frosted cookies in the Elle's Studio chipboard sticker set made me think of her. Yes, and the sentiment “baking spirits bright”. So cute!

I'm so far behind in my December Daily (I have kept a daily journal every year, so the photos and details are there waiting for me) that I really shouldn't even be allowed on this thread - but I really like the Elle's Studio release this year - what's a pea to do? I especially like the chipboard tile number stickers!
I'll admit that this is the first year I'm struggling to even think ahead to Christmas. The kids are old, the joy is harder to find. I think I may try a "31 days of family suppers" or "31 days of family games" idea to see if we can try to get a thing going. Like when 2 people are tossing a ball back and forth and it becomes more fun to count how many times you can do it in a row? Somedays, our schedules barely overlap, but if we're trying to set a record, I'm sure we could find some fun in it.

I like those numbers. I’m such a sucker for a good number set! I said "holy crap" out loud when I saw those chipboard numbers. Then I saw the vellum numbers. Oh my god. Gorgeous. I am such a sucker for good numbers and these are amazing. It looks like the chipboard numbers will fit in the little squares under the December in those die cut looking things.

I just had a major disappointment trying to purchase stuff from the summer Disney release on their website. Silly moi forgot. *shakes head* Booty, Hey Little Magpie stock Elle's Studio and last year they sold most of their Christmas collection. I don't know how much their postage to the EU will be, though! I am loving the look of those numbers (chipboard and vellum. All of it. I want it all!) so if you want me to grab anything for you, give me a shout, could be cheaper that way.

Those chipboard stickers from Elle's Studio with the sentiments are super cute. I love the inclusion of that light warm grey. I keep coming back to look at them... I'm wondering if that light grey is different than their usual grey tone. I've never liked it because it always has a purple hue to it...

Ohh, I like the Elle's Studio stuff. I don't think I have ever ordered from them before. Perhaps this will be the year! I've been a subscriber for more than a year. I've not had a single issue with quality, packing, or accuracy and their shipping is always fast.

The christmas past kit thus far is very sleek and classic. Lots of black, reds, and gold foiling.. it's nice! I think there was some brown/kraft in the papers as well. edit on what's included -- - 6x8 papers (15) - 4x6 repeating cards in different colors with prompts at the bottom "remembering, homemade, under the tree..." - 3x4 tags (all black? I think) - 3 die cut square/grid papers in gold, red, and black similar to a 2x2 page protector - 3 4x4 sized nested square chipboards/frames w/ smaller frames inside. thinner chipboard no adhesive. red/black/gold/white, no greens. chipboard rectangular sentiments. white background/red words. thinner chipboard, no adhesive. (they're already falling out of ali's example while it's still in the plastic so.. thats gonna be a mess lol) - vellum shapes/tags - black background/white text plastic phrases (15) like label maker text - wooden stamp set w/ numbers (am/pm, ampersand, colon, & heart and star) someone in the comments just said only 20 fridays until christmas and I'm over here like what?! that's so close! lol they showed off a red 6x8 with "JOY" repeated across it in cream text and a gold foil outline. nice striped inside cover too.

This is giving me flashbacks of that awful orange red album from years past. But the Kraft? I love. I received (and promptly sold) that album because I haaaaaaated the color! It looked like an autumn rust color and not a Christmas color to me.

I also was bored with this kit. The little black word strips were nice if you could stuff buy things À la cart but they said everything was just included in kit.

The Pam Baldwin x AE DD kit is a big disappointment. - Two shades of red, black and gold foil do not a colour scheme make. - The specific theming of this kit (Christmas past) did not jump out at all to me. It's just a generic DD kit with generic DD sentiments and even the generic AE typewriter front for the prompt cards. "Under the three", "this Christmas memory", "remembering", "Christmas morning", mmmkay then? Like, we've been here before. Quite a few times. I'm sure most of us have AE DD cards of yore left over in our stash with some of these exact sayings. - The aesthetic is giving me 2012-2014 Christmas collection vibes. It's not unpretty. It's just nothing new or particularly attractive these days. I feel like you should break this kit apart and mix the elements up with more contemporary colours and designs to make it all work. Big yawn. - "We will not be offering any of the pieces of this kit as separate shop items." I bet you will. In 2023. In the shop's Sales section. Feeling snarky. - I don't really get why so many plain black tags. Oh well. - The die-cut pages are cute. Said something nice: ✓ - The chipboard phrase bits are ok. I mean, it's just red words on white chipboard. Could, again, be any DD kit of any year if you ask me. But the words, again, don't scream the theme. Just random grabs from a basic winter/Christmas vocabulary list: frosty, cookies, shopping, jingle, greetings, twinkle, chilly, singing, family, presents, hot cocoa, etc. - The vellum die-cuts are snooze-worthy, too. It's not bad, just not something I wish I had. - Lisa's vocal fry is on full display in this live. My brain is hating every second of it. - Those black plastic phrases are Dymo galore. But without the fun texture. It's dollar store Dymo. #IsaidwhatIsaid Also, again not particularly past-focused. "Laughing all the way", "'Tis the season", "Deck the halls", etc. - Fuck no, not one of those basic number wood stamp sets. I swear the year is 2012, not 2022! - So, did I miss the part where they explained why Pam wasn't there to defend this poorly designed kit? Man, what a letdown. I was expecting embellishments or journaling cards that would allow to compare specific Christmas aspects like wanted gifts, favourite holiday movie, best Christmas outing throughout life stages à la childhood | young adult | all grown up. Prompts that would allow to document Christmas memories and photos with people who have since passed away. There was SO. FREAKIN'. MUCH. to work with. And none of it was accomplished. On the upside, showing this boring kit in between Liz's very well-liked one and the main kit can only hype up the main one! It's a smart strategy. The Joy album is fine although I'm worried how the red will turn out IRL. It looks very bright. The messy circle stamp set by Ali has some good new sentiments like "super basic December day" and "most loved snacks. Not sure why the Easter bunny was invited to the Christmas party but ok. This is something I'd consider picking up as a digital. Anyway, those were my rambling thoughts.

I watched most of the video and eh, I dont think its anything I have to add. It almost feels like an 'add on' kit. Nothing super duper wonderful. I do like all the neutrals, but not a have to have in my book. And a wooden stamp set is just a hard no in my book. Like sleepingbooty , I feel that they just missed the boat on this kit. Nothing makes me want to document Christmas pasts. The black tags are basic, the fake dynamo strips lack character. I do like the vellum die cuts but not enough to buy a whole kit. To me, this kit screams generic. Edited to add: I don't see "JOY" with that red album. I see "IOY" and it drives me nuts.

I don't understand why wood-mounted stamps are coming back. There have been many improvements in this industry over the years, and being able to see through your stamps is one of the best ones, IMHO! Is it to force a handmade/messy/distressed look over a clean look? You could also do this with clear, though... I'm stumped.

If anyone actually likes the Pam Baldwin mini kit and has the old American Crafts brand Hot Cocoa Christmas line in their stash, they'd be a perfect match. I kept thinking of how those old papers matched the kit perfectly but were just whimsical enough to make the whole thing less boring. Oh, it's from 2014.

Wow. That was a HUGE MONUMENTAL disappointment. Just caught up on the “past” kit and was wondering if it is full of items that didn’t sell in past kits and that’s where it got its name from? I too was totally on board with the idea of a new/second album and project documenting christmases past and Christmas traditions for my family in addition to my existing dd project. As in spending more money to buy more products to do so. I was hoping that this was the first time I’d have a kit that I loved so I could get a cohesive look instead of just using stash items. But nope.
Where are the tree paper clips Pam uses, where are the crisp whites? Where are the simple but effective designs? Where are the journaling prompts that have anything to do with documenting past Christmases or memories or important traditions? Where are the small assortments of ribbons or fibres to use on those tags? This just looks like a normal small dd kit with a cream and peach album. I’ll pick up individual items in the sales next year.
I hate being such a negative ninny but I was sooo excited for this concept, this is probably the only year I can afford to get a second kit, and so I am sooo disappointed

I thought Pam was going to be there and I was very excited. I really like her.
So:
Marked safe from Ghost of Christmas Past kits.
"She was underwhelmed if that's a word. I know it's not cause I looked it up. It's one of those skills that I learned in high school."
There was one thing in there that I liked but now I forget what it was. Oh! The gift vellum tag. It's very similar to the gifts that were in Liz's designs last year.
I also thought the wooden numbers were cool and realized I don't have any that size so I looked on aliexpress and got an acrylic stamp with a couple different sizes of numbers for $5 and bought that. And 15 more dollars of completely random stuff cause that site, man.

As in spending more money to buy more products to do so. I was hoping that this was the first time I’d have a kit that I loved so I could get a cohesive look instead of just using stash items. But nope. I feel exactly like this. I had no problem spending money on a second album this year based on the concept of documenting "past" Christmases. I was even looking through old photos to see what I had to get me excited. But this kit doesn't feel like a "past" album. I feel like this is just generic Christmas. I wanted more prompt based embellishments. Even some stuff that felt vintage. I feel like I should buy some Tim Holtz stuff to make a "past" album, so it has more of a vintage feel.
