Wow, those black felt numbers look great! It looks like there might be a fair amount of black in the collection this year. That scrapbook.com black velvet album is looking like a great option

I like the look of the numbers (and that at they are black) but they seem a little big for my needs.

I mean, I've been printing oversized black numbers for DD for some time now so these are not needed. But had the material been vellum or a chipboard (or, even better, black foil die-cuts!), I would've been all over these.
I'm sure these will sell out super fast! The white stitching looks really neat with this classic italic font style.

My IG stories feed is suddenly full of images of the Liz DD kit - I guess everyone is trying to win it? Lots of excitement. And Ali's talking head keeps popping up as an ad but I always skip past. I feel like it's a bit of a cheap buzz campaign. When they announced they were overwhelmed with the initial giveaway response and were looking for more kits to give away, I was expecting 5, not 2 extra kits. Still, Liz's Fa La La Live was received very enthusiastically and nearly everybody fell head over heels for her floral DD pattern. Well-deserved social media love. Still, 2 kits is cheaping out considering how much they'll make off this collab (and have in the past).

I want to like those numbers more than I actually do. Between the color and the font and the large size I keep seeing them as house numbers, like what you’d put on your mailbox post or house to display your address.

I live in an old neighbourhood downtown and we mostly have traditional navy enamel plaques with white numbers. This is making me want to find a number 24 to photograph for Christmas now (we celebrate it a day earlier than in the US)...

I like the big felt numbers and missed out on the red ones last year. But Im not sure black is for me.

but they seem a little big for my needs Ha! I was thinking they are too small for me. But Im not sure black is for me. Same. While I love the look of a B&W DD, my book wants all the colors. We are less than 2 weeks away from the 31st now. I'm so excited. Bring it, Christmas. Bring it. Can someone make me a card of that?

Can someone make me a card of that? Agreed! I am wanting to sort through my old DD stuff and get it all ready to add the new to it. Not sure if I should wait til we see the big reveal or do it now and just hope I dont get rid of something that would be perfect with this years kit. I have decided I am not buying any other kit or products besides AE...unless hers are just so expensive that she prices me out, lol.

While I love the look of a B&W DD, my book wants all the colors. But the advantage of those black numbers is that they will be easy to work with for all those bright colours you want to use! It will work with every paper/card you can dream up. *taps side of forehead* We are less than 2 weeks away from the 31st now. I'm so excited. Bring it, Christmas. Bring it. Can someone make me a card of that? Man, a "Bring it, December. Bring it" opening page would look incredible for a DD album, jussayin'... I am wanting to sort through my old DD stuff and get it all ready to add the new to it. Not sure if I should wait til we see the big reveal or do it now and just hope I dont get rid of something that would be perfect with this years kit. Do eeeeet! Just use a "let go after DD release" bin instead of immediately getting rid of it in case something in there would be a perfect match for your 2022 goodies. I absolutely loved going through my Christmas stash earlier this month. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood.

Ooooh! This is so charming! 😍 I now lowkey want to mock this digitally so it reads number 24 "Noël à tous les étages" (Christmas on all floors) instead of "gas on all floors"... You're giving me ideas!

I wonder if the alpha and number stamp will be in a similar font to the felt numbers.
I'm with booty, if the had been vinyl or vellum, would have been better, although I just need to finally figure out how to use my cameo.

I now lowkey want to mock this digitally so it reads number 24 "Noël à tous les étages" (Christmas on all floors) instead of "gas on all floors"... You're giving me ideas! What does “gas on all floors” mean? I mean, I guess I know what it means, but why do the buildings say that? It is very charming looking though! So, these enamel plaques date back to the late 19th century when big cities in France started offering direct municipal gas access. There were big pipes delivering the city gas to all floors - until then, gas was mostly used for street lights and some bourgeois homes/floors. This was a major change in daily comfort: with such gas delivery, you were certain to be able to cook and have warm water every day, even through winter. Beyond the assured everyday convenience, this also meant a change in hygiene: you could now wash yourself properly, head to toe, every single day. As 21st century people, we forget how big of an impact this had (look, smell and disease transmission). These enamel plaques thus served two purposes: to attract renters (and buyers) but also signal the social status of the inhabitants of the building. If you lived in a street where most buildings had gas on all floors, you were in a very modern and desirable part of the city...

(I walked by the Cricut and Brother machines in a general craft store a few weeks back and was so tempted to make the impulse buy until I remembered I am already struggling with storing my printer in my small home.)

Also, today I learnt that the wonderful PBS Monstrum series has an episode on the Yule Cat! For anyone interested in finding out more about this particular creature and the new-clothes-for-Christmas tradition in Iceland, here's the fascinating episode:

Those chipboard stickers from Elle's Studio with the sentiments are super cute. I love the inclusion of that light warm grey. I keep coming back to look at them...

I really like that Elle's Studio sneak.
I like the size and shape of the DD felt numbers but am not such a fan of the colour. Maybe I just need to do my own with some of the felt I have lying around.

Going to tag julie5 just in case she's back in the documenting swing because those tiny frosted cookies in the Elle's Studio chipboard sticker set made me think of her.
