I seriously do not understand why FJ still has only given one sneak. They release their line tomorrow. Give the people something to look forward to! Edited to add: my budget is busted so no getting FJ for me. The reality is, their DD papers are never my favorite because of the red and greens they choose. I do love their embellishments though. I agree with all of this. I always think it’s strange that they don’t do more sneaks to get people excited. I spent too much today with Ali so I won’t be getting anything from Felicity Jane either. Last year I didn’t end up getting anything from the Felicity Jane release, and I didn’t really miss it.

I am 100% a dog mom as well. Never thought I would be as I didn't have dogs growing up, but now? Can't imagine not having one! When you know, you know. There's nothing quite like dog kisses and their playfulness to me... I'm so glad you found your dog mum calling in life! Will you be adding a new fur baby to the family in the (near) future? I am so glad the pups both have good furever homes, but sorry they are not going to get to stay with you. You are a good egg to be fostering them though. Can you not get a portable pup as a pet? Or a cat you can push around in a stroller? I was 100% dog person growing up, but as an adult was adopted by a cat and I tell you they can be really really great. Now I just realize I'm a sucker for a fuzzy face. Oh, I don't qualify to adopt any dog, alas, Skellinton. Even micro breeds. I'm not picky as long as the bark factor is low (because of the neighbours, obviously). And I'm extremely allergic to cats. Like, ended-up-in-an-ambulance-with-a-serious-asthma-attack allergic to cats (I'm not asthmatic and had no clue what was happening or why I could suddenly not get air into my lungs). Antihistamines do nothing, I have to carry a steroid inhaler when visiting people who have cats and try to stay as far away from the cat and litter box as possible. I have literally never snuggled with a cat. They're kind of my apple, you see. I also pulled all my untouched prima, Studio Calico, FJ stencils and silk screens and am ready to use them this year. Oooh, I just remembered I have a few of the Jasmine Jones x SC Christmas silk screens left in my stash! There is a super cute "Let's get festive" in her handwriting... Thanks for the reminder!

My plan is to be done buying DD supplies, with the exception of maybe one or two stamp sets when I’ve seen all the different releases in a couple of months, and any basic supplies I might need after I go through everything.

Elle's Studio was the only indie company to compete with Ali in terms of publicity and FOMO this year. Paper Person and Felicity Jane really dropped the snow ball on this one. These are not economical times for passiveness. You have to push and compete to make it right now. This massive inflation is no joke. Paired with the climate issues, you're dealing with a pretty depressive state of mind all around. I'm baffled by how lax some scrappy companies are being right now.

Bet Ali is frustrated that the PP kit sold out so soon, when they still haven't offloaded all of 2021....
To reign in cost I really would like an embellie lite kit that maybe doesn't offer lots of multiples but has an alpha, number, trim (1 or 2), die cuts (no more than 10), transparencies (2-3), puffies/chipboard (no more than 10) and phrase and tab multi sticker. Then al-a-carte paper bundles.....I know that probably isn't profitable from her perspective...... But I'm priced out the market on stamps now. I won't drop $, especially not $28.99, unless they include the digital. I can see myself getting to that point on other products too. I think other peas feel the same, given that no stamps have sold out. My memory may be wrong, but I thought that usually at least 1 stamp sells out on opening day.....
I feel like they should employ a few peas here as consultants. I always take note of what mom calls out as products that she's interested in. I didn't even look at the big trees until she mentioned them! So not surprised they went so quickly.

I bought too much. I went back for a couple of things. In my defense, I’ve never done DD before and barely have any Christmas supplies - had no Christmas stamps at all. Won’t be able to say that next year! Lol
It must be so hard to know how much to buy to make a nice profit but not be stuck with too much- especially after sitting on all that travel stuff from this year’s release. Although I feel like they should have known better with that floral album! That was a stunner. And it must hurt to have sold out stencils in like 5 seconds thinking of how much more they could have made on that product.

I agree! I don't get how they didn't anticipate how popular the PP album would be. They all said on IG it was a stunner and is very much in the style of Rifle Paper which is super popular . My only thought is that they hadn't done a floral so wanted to be cautious. I would have bought Falala last year except for the bold interior. One of my fave albums is the blue text travel album from a few years ago. So I think having a neutral interior is really really important. I will never ever buy a 10 by 8 album and they have to be worried about how much stock they are going to be stuck with that deconstructed album.

I got Elle Studio extras - typewriter alphabet set, stamps, 4x6 die, stickers, etc.
I will use those items along with other items I have for dedicated pages in the kids 9x12 albums.

In one of the IG posts, Ali said when they were planning out the release, they were unsure if people were going to like the floral album. I think seeing it in the PP live helped that go quickly.
I was all in on the advent calendar, then saw the comments, waffled for awhile, and finally pulled the trigger. I remember how I liked that the items were unique and I ended up using a lot of the stickers in my album.
My a/c just up and died, so let's see what's more money, my a/c repair or my DD purchase, lol.

I just can't justify spending practically $30 for a stamp set that I will only use for one month a year. Nope. Not going to do it. I really want the tag stamp but I dont think I will get enough use out of it --- especially when I picked up the SC stamp this month that has a tag on it that's very very similar to the DD one + I can use it for more than just December.

If that’s the case ae should hire me to ask which products won’t be as popular as I always seem to want the stuff that hangs around forever and I never seem to like the popular stuff! 😂

I agree with the comments about PP sneaks. I wonder if product is delayed and that is why she has not shared? Just a thought.
Listening to Ali’s live tonight - sounds like they are going to consider rereleasing the Liz album, but after Christmas as a more versatile album. I love this idea so hope it works out!
Also - super curious what Heidi Swapp may be selling for December?

Catching up on the thread. I agree with sleepingbooty that perhaps the Paislee Press (need to be careful with the multiple PPs here) may be a bit more popular because it’s a true 6x8 kit. And honestly the floral album was so cute but just doesn’t vibe with the main kit (IMO). I hope the popularity of the floral designs and the woodland animals sends a hint that people like their kits to feature products that are not just word-based things. The Christmas past 6x8 papers looked better to me in the photos they showed today than in all the preview stuff. Actually the whole kit looked more useful in the few photos that featured Lisa’s photos, so the marketing on that one prior to today was a miss. Overall though I am impressed with their lives and stories throughout the day (especially their consideration of the workarounds for the whole stencil situation). Ali shared lots of useful ideas and while I know that it’s intended to push product that’s not selling as well, it was a nice addition to the day.

So, now FJ is releasing their kit on Sept 9 and not on their regular release day of the 1st.
If you go to their instagram, FJ has a real with sneaks and they will do a countdown til release. They so missed the boat on timing (again). Literally a day late and a dollar short.

I’m trying to remember how well DD stamps have sold in the past. I thought I remember them selling out very quickly. Am I mis-remembering? I wonder if they’ve finally priced themselves out of the market?

ETA - it was the product play sneaks and the live mentioned below that got ppl buying, before product play.

And I think several others went quick after Laura and Ali had a stamping live.

Bet Ali is frustrated that the PP kit sold out so soon, when they still haven't offloaded all of 2021… Here’s a thought…. PUT THE OLD KITS IN THE DD BOX SALE SO PEOPLE CAN BUY THEM WITH COMBINED SHIPPING. We obviously aren’t super keen to buy them if they are still in the shop a year later, so why don’t you cut your losses and at least list them with the new dd stuff!!!! As postage to me is about $20, I might be tempted to pay for a full priced older kit as the postage saving means I’m getting 20% at least off the price of the item. Plus more people would buy the old paislee kit as it has more of the the 3x4 cards that are missing from the 2021 kits… On this note, you could always cut the cards from the 2022 paper and transparencies 3x8 pack in half like I’m going to for more journaling cards (also trimming the holes off if I want them in the pockets, you get a few cards out of the 2022 kit if you do this!) You get 34 3x4 cards if you are happy to make the two cuts to trim the cards down, and there is only one design (the list) that I would 100% keep whole as I think it’s look silly in half).

I’m not surprised the Paislee Press kit sold out. This year has a lot of good designs that are useable and neutral. You can tell it was really influenced by Crate Paper last year (who in turn were influenced by Rifle Paper, etc).
That’s ok with me bc it means it’ll work with all the leftovers in my stash, hah.
The 2021 kit was just bad last year. The green, red, pink combo was too much - basic neutrals are much better with her style (as you can see with 2020 and 2022 kits).
I am bummed to see nothing Geralyn this year. I loved her products and hated how muted the paper/color selection were for the physical products (I ended up getting them to print at home after a whiteness and color boost).

Hot pink and red SUCK as a colour combination, the only way I am interested in this 2021 kit is at a big discount as I won't use half of it (so if it's half price I may consider it.) The Geralyn products from last year had awesome designs but TERRIBLE colours that did not match anything in my stash (and I have a STASH) so I am not tempted to buy them STILL. Again, the only way I would be slightly tempted would be if I could get them in my dd box this year so I got "free" shipping.

Someone has to have her contracted for this.

If anyone buys the pennants and wants to sell the 'words matter' one, I will buy it from you. I think it would work well on my scrapbook room gallery wall.

I watched Shu-Wen's video where she goes through last year's stuff and talks about what she's keeping, what she's getting rid of, and why.
I found it very helpful. I am really bad about getting rid of stuff -- and combined with the fact that I've been doing this for about 10 years means I have a lot and it can get overwhelming.
One idea that I really liked: She said she loved the word strips but didn't use them because it took too long to rifle through them. This year she is going to adhere them to a piece of cardstock and put them with the other word stickers so they'll get used.
I have tons of words and they're all in a pouch. I know it's going to be annoying to go through it all so I'm going to get another 5X7 clear container and organize them all onto cardstock. I think it will help. In this process I'm going to get rid of all the words I know I won't use. Some sentiments are just so sappy I will never use them. She said she also doesn't use anything about Peace in her DD and it really resonated with me. My decembers are so not peaceful. I will never use that word in my album. Even if I'm alone and looking at the tree or if it's snowing for the first time, I'm not going to use that word, I'm going to use my snow or tree stuff.
Anyway. It was an hour well spent.
QUESTION: she mentioned clear sticker paper that you print on. I've seen others use it and would like to buy some. What brand do you use and would you recommend it?
