If anyone buys the pennants and wants to sell the 'words matter' one, I will buy it from you. I think it would work well on my scrapbook room gallery wall. YES!!!! I only want the believe one and didn't want to spend $10 for both. It's a deal. So excited about this. I'm adding it to my cart now. Awesome! Thank you! Send me your PayPal.

I watched Shu-Wen's video where she goes through last year's stuff and talks about what she's keeping, what she's getting rid of, and why. I found it very helpful. I am really bad about getting rid of stuff -- and combined with the fact that I've been doing this for about 10 years means I have a lot and it can get overwhelming. One idea that I really liked: She said she loved the word strips but didn't use them because it took too long to rifle through them. This year she is going to adhere them to a piece of cardstock and put them with the other word stickers so they'll get used. I have tons of words and they're all in a pouch. I know it's going to be annoying to go through it all so I'm going to get another 5X7 clear container and organize them all onto cardstock. I think it will help. In this process I'm going to get rid of all the words I know I won't use. Some sentiments are just so sappy I will never use them. She said she also doesn't use anything about Peace in her DD and it really resonated with me. My decembers are so not peaceful. I will never use that word in my album. Even if I'm alone and looking at the tree or if it's snowing for the first time, I'm not going to use that word, I'm going to use my snow or tree stuff. Anyway. It was an hour well spent. QUESTION: she mentioned clear sticker paper that you print on. I've seen others use it and would like to buy some. What brand do you use and would you recommend it? Shu-Wen has posted these links in the past: - Neato Labels Clear Sticker Paper: amzn.to/32JAhpW- Maco Clear Sticker Paper: amzn.to/3AHyiPAI've not used it yet, but she is pretty good about what she uses (i.e., she would tell you if she didn't like something about it).

I’m trying to remember how well DD stamps have sold in the past. I thought I remember them selling out very quickly. Am I mis-remembering? I wonder if they’ve finally priced themselves out of the market? I think last years DD alpha set, and the Poinsettia/Foliage stamp set, sold out before the boxing period last year, because I was on the fence due to price and did not get them, and seriously regretted it. So much so that I spent time on eBay searching for the alpha set, which I still love and wish Ali would restock. I finally found a decent dupe for the alpha set from Stampin Up, although the font is smaller. This year I decided to get two stamps (Tags and Holiday Messy Circles) because I didn’t want to miss out and I know I will get a lot of use out of both sets. Of course the stamps are still in the store, and I missed out on some other things I wanted that sold out. Clearly I am not good at predicting the sell outs

I also watched Shu-Wen’s DD sorting/purge, and it was really helpful in thinking about what to keep and what to buy so I can really focus on the products I will actually use.

If you’ve been to the AE DD prep days, what do you think of them? I suppose for $5 it’s probably good/worth it. Would it be similar to the subscriber appreciate day from this spring or summer where there were mini classes/topics? They had mentioned other years it’s been 12 hours (and thinking of maybe 8 hours this year) and I can’t imagine what that looks like! I don’t want to do anything for 12 (or 8) hours.

I’m not surprised the Paislee Press kit sold out. This year has a lot of good designs that are useable and neutral. You can tell it was really influenced by Crate Paper last year (who in turn were influenced by Rifle Paper, etc). That’s ok with me bc it means it’ll work with all the leftovers in my stash, hah. The 2021 kit was just bad last year. The green, red, pink combo was too much - basic neutrals are much better with her style (as you can see with 2020 and 2022 kits). I am bummed to see nothing Geralyn this year. I loved her products and hated how muted the paper/color selection were for the physical products (I ended up getting them to print at home after a whiteness and color boost). 100% what you just said. Hot pink and red SUCK as a colour combination, the only way I am interested in this 2021 kit is at a big discount as I won't use half of it (so if it's half price I may consider it.) The Geralyn products from last year had awesome designs but TERRIBLE colours that did not match anything in my stash (and I have a STASH) so I am not tempted to buy them STILL. Again, the only way I would be slightly tempted would be if I could get them in my dd box this year so I got "free" shipping. I totally agree! Ali kept saying yesterday that she was surprised by how fast Liz’s Kit sold out, because it’s still not sold out from last year, and I wasn’t surprised at all. It was just a better kit this year in my opinion. I’m sure there are people that prefer last year’s color scheme to this year’s, but it seems like more traditional/neutral colored kits would sell better overall. I personally really didn’t like how bright last year’s kits were with the bright pink/red combo, and the bright green. This year’s kits were a little more traditional/neutral, and I feel like they are going to work better to incorporate with other things from my stash. It also makes sense that Liz’s kit would sell faster than the main kit, because the main kit is really expensive, so I’m sure more people could justify the expense of the smaller kit.

If you’ve been to the AE DD prep days, what do you think of them? I think it was absolutely worth $5 for the digitals alone. It was also super fun. Lots of classes and community. I enjoyed it and will definitely do it again. And thanks to all for the labels link. I just ordered and am excited to try them out!

So, last year is the first time I’ve ever bought it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and really felt like it was worth the money. I can’t remember if I actually learned anything from it, but I figured it was a lot of hours of entertainment for about the price of a Starbucks. If I remember right, they go live every hour, so instead of 12 hours straight of video, it was more like 12 different hour long videos with a different topic, and host for each hour. You can watch them in real time, or you have access to go back and watch them whenever like a regular class. In fact, I just realized yesterday that I don’t think I ever finished watching all the videos last year, and I’m going to go back and rewatch some of them soon. It was just kind of a fun day that helped get me excited to start the project.

Ali needs to make 6x8 album kits again. I won’t buy a kit that is geared towards a 10x8 album again. I was very disappointed with this years WITL kit because there were not enough journaling cards in it. I was super annoyed about it to be honest with you. I didn’t use any of the 4x4 cards. It was such a waste for me and I had to make all of my own journaling cards. If I knew I was going to have to do that, I wouldn’t have bought her kit. I will not make that mistake again.
I’m really happy for PP and that her mini kit sold out. I think it’s great and hopefully tells Ali that a 6x8 album kit is needed. The price was great too. I was thinking about purchasing it yesterday but it was not on my must have list. I wanted all the cards! I almost always love Ali’s design style so I really wish she would have made a set of journaling cards for purchase. I totally would have gotten them.
One more thing, I wish Ali would quit making 10x8 happen and I really wish she would quit trying to make “buildable” albums happen. I feel bad for saying that but she has had her community doing 6x8 for so many years and now she’s not making her kits, “the star of the show kits”, in the 6x8 album size and I am seriously bummed about it. Her kit should be the sellout, not another designer that is designing for her. Just my opinion.
And yeah, what’s up with last years kits not being available to add to our box?? I swear I read in an email or blog post or somewhere that past years kits would be available at a discount. I thought it meant you would be able to purchase them with all of this years offerings. For sure a missed opportunity to sell product.

Last year they added more items later on to not overwhelm already huge selection at launch. I think they will add the last year kits in a week or so. In the past they also added some shop items that can be used in DD and it looks like they added them already. Many people shop at launch and then do not go back but many shop throughout the month and add items until last day. Also from the look of contents of Mystery bags, many of them contain last year’s main kit pieces.

Add in another person who uses the Maco clear sheets because she recommended them! I also do it all in Word because of one of her videos lol
I need to get my Christmas tub down and start really looking at things/thinking about what I want to use. I'm almost positive I'm still on the 4x4 train in my head but that could change when I see what I've got to work with. I think I have a small cardboard box somewhere with "stuff I didn't want to use last year but still wanted to keep" shoved somewhere too.

I'm trying to figure out which mystery embellishment pack will have the die cut words from last year main kit. They were the words like calm and bright.... looks like the they were asimilar weight as the alphas but they will classify them as chipboard...

As others have said, I think it was totally worth it for the price. I got quite a few ideas for pages and there were about 8 digitals offered that I ended up using in some way. The time is divided up into different sessions with different hosts. For example last year the sessions were: intro & welcome mindset, live hour with Ali, workflow & organisation, live hour with Pam, celebrating different approaches to DD storytelling, another live hour with Ali, same story different ways, live hour with Laura, hybrid page idea with Jennie Rey and wrap up & QA.

Off-topic-ish but here's a pic of tiny Tilly AKA baby gorilla (she's so much smaller than her sis) with her "grandma" who got to snuggle and fawn over her all afternoon long. Her sis, my first foster pup, left for her forever family today. Not gonna lie, I shed a little tear after they'd driven away and before I knew it, I was browsing the DD release on my phone... Thankfully, the two items I wanted were long gone so I didn't end up buying anything but ugh, emotional shopping, thy power is strong!

Some former DD kits were on offer earlier this year, including the 2021 Paislee Press mini. I do think they'll end up adding it to the boxable items a little later in the order selection period. I wonder if the discount will be the same as it was during the summer sale. Now, I know AE still has some of the 2020 Paislee Press mini kits in the Inked warehouse. Please, get those back in the store! I want to grab one.

Question for non-Americans (possibly more non-English natives): Is "believe" as big a Christmas theme where you live? I have literally never heard anyone saying the French translation surrounding Christmas here. I've lived in several other countries and again, not something I remember hearing being associated with the Christmas festivities. There doesn't seem to be a big emphasis on believing in Santa (or Christmas magic or whatever) globally. I'm always a little surprised to see this verb come back over and over again on DD products and in Christmas scrapbook lines.
Is this perhaps subconsciously linked to the historically (and still present-day) higher religiosity in the US compared to most of the Western world? Is this verb as present in 2022 UK Christmas, Brit Peas?

Is "believe" as big a Christmas theme where you live? I've been thinking about this since you posted. I feel like this is based on US Christmas movies. The main theme in most is believing, and that magic makes santa's sleigh fly and all that. I can think of several movies where you can't question how batshit crazy the whole thing is -- you just have to believe it or you're a scrooge/grinch/jerk of some kind. Anyway, I love every freaking minute of it.

I needed some felt just to have so I looked on Etsy. I feel this was a good deal for what I got and it's good quality. I did not want 100% wool (too expensive) and I did not want the acrylic stuff from craft stores. This is a blend. I priced around and this seemed to be the best for 15 sheets and she shipped fast. I'm going to try to cut some circles and make my own pockets. feltWhen I checked out I wrote the colors I wanted in the box. If you need felt and don't feel like shopping around, hope this helps.
