Shu-Wen recommends using Mono Tombow sand erasers to "prime" stamps. I've been doing it for a while and it really seems to help. She's got a lot of great stamping videos that I learn from on YouTube: www.youtube.com/c/ChouxPuffCreationsoh, I've never heard of using the rough sand erasers for this, only regular pencil erasers! eek. I don't think I'd want to use a rough eraser. I've also heard of stamping with versamark ink first to prime the stamp. I think the sanding erasers require a very gentle touch. I prefer a rough pink eraser. The point is to rub away the coating that’s on the acrylic from manufacturing.

I have this kit and I’ve actually pulled two of the 6x8 papers to use for my DD. I think she was also talking about a 12x12 sheet with rows of numbers 1-10 you could cut out. I’m using a gray one with one through ten (I have the perfect story for it) and another that’s white and red with “let me count the ways” 1-5. I made a note to use the 12X12 paper that has the huge numbers on it but the digital file. Each number has a line down the center. My plan is to change the colors of most of the numbers to pastels (or reduce the opacity) and then keep like the 8 and make it bright red or green or whatever. I think that will be fun. Someone used a similar paper in an album she made and when she turned 50 she used that page and did something like that. It was a great idea. I love the kit and am super happy with it.

Sounds like a great idea! Denine Zielinski is an AE Ambassador and she posted a layout similar to what you mentioned. It looks so good. Sorry, I don't know how to post it here, but she is @denine2 on IG and the layout was posted on 8/25. She's really talented.

Ali’s box ordering period is marketing genius. I’m really ready for my box to close so I quit looking at things to add to it 😂. I haven’t placed any more orders since the beginning, but there’s a few things still tempting me. I really like the felt presents, but $10 is just so much money to me for a few embellishments, every time I think about adding them I change my mind again. Also, still tempted by the stamps, but again, those prices just stop me in my tracks. I need to go to a few craft stores and price their alphabet stickers. I’m really tempted to add a few sets of alpha stickers to my box, but I haven’t shopped at Hobby Lobby, or anywhere like that in awhile, and I’d like to see if Ali’s prices are as ridiculous on those as they feel, or if I just haven’t bought alpha stickers in awhile, and the prices are higher than I think.

Is there a better gold metallic ink pad than Ali’s? My last AE gold ink pad dried out, so I am looking for another one.

Just saw Jodie Sweetin will be in the sequel to my favorite CCB Christmas movie! WHY is there a sequel? And to a movie CCB won't even be in again?? who knows with Hallmark 🙃 but as long as more people are saying "that's Garland for ya" when santa shit happens I'm HERE FOR IT. she'll also be in another holiday movie with tommy from instant star (or mutt from schitts creek if you weren't a teenager in 2004 living vicariously through every canadian tv show on the-n ) I understand we're barely in September but if Lifetime and Hallmark could just release their lists that'd be great.

Thank you!!! I was NOT a teenager in 2004 but I love cheesy teen dramas and I freaking LOVED Instant Star. It was amazing. I knew that I recognized the dude from Schitts Creek but I could not figure it out. Man, Instant Star was so good. I don't know why we didn't get more seasons of it.

I've already noted that one down on my must-see Christmas 2022 master list!

Delicata love, whoop whoop! Delicata in Golden Glitz (by Japanese manufacturer Tsukineko) is this warm-toned, shimmery gold. Very pretty and festive. It works best on white and light-coloured cardstock for full effect. In this comparison shot I dug up online, Golden Glitz is number 3 (middle):

I’m doing the same so that the postage I pay doesn’t feel like a huge amount… but then if I buy heaps of stuff to justify the postage, does that not mean that I am spending more and more money when I don’t need to?
Trying to bulk up my box with basics (page protectors etc) rather than products that did not immediately catch my eye.
Trying.

I love the Ali messy circles stamp set, and might have ponied up and paid the $29 for it, but I'm not getting any other DD supplies this year and I'm not paying $12 for shipping one stamp set.

Everything I picked during their last sale was super small, and still shipping was over 20. It could have easily fit into one of the smallest priority mail boxes, there is zero reason it would cost that much to ship.

If anyone would like the Elle's Studio Christmas Phrases Stamp set (minus the jingle all the way stamp and make note that the countdown stamp does not have straight edges and has damage to it but it still stamps), let me know. I got my new set today and it is all good. I can mail it out next month.
