oh my goodness, yes, it is. My friend had tried to tell me about her grandma's favorite recipe which included mayonnaise and honestly the thought makes me want to barf. I love that convenience foods got too convenient and they had to make them more difficult. I heard that the original boxed cake mixes were "just add water" varieties but they didn't sell well - it didn't feel enough like real baking. So they reduced the powdered egg and fat slightly and had people crack an egg and pour some oil in so it felt just difficult enough to be real and worthwhile and sales went through the roof. lol. Stupid humans. I just happened to see a Upper Midwesterner's thrift-with-me video the other day where someone came across a strange Bundt cake shaped plastic container with a lid and everyone in the comments was telling her about Tupperware's famous jell-o molds and horrific jell-o salads. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled next time I thrift, just for the fun of seeing one. The love of the Jell-O salad was very real in my mother's family and we ALWAYS had one at every holiday. There was a specific salad for each event. Granted, my grandma was a great cook and they did evolve over the years so were largely fruit based instead of veggies or meat (shudder). When I left home my mom gave me a Tupperware jello mould. She was terrified they would discontinue them and I would not have one. |

My week has been stupid busy and I haven't been on much but then I saw the hallmark announcement! My LOVE Jeremy Jordan will be in a movie this year??! Between him, Patti Murin, & Derek Klena there's so much broadway going on I can't. There BEST be singing! I can even get my boyfriend to watch this one for Jeremy lol AND LISA LOEB IS IN IT TOO?!?!?!?!? The entirety of my sophomore year of high school was spent watching the Reality Bites DVD that had the music video for Stay on it. Did I miss a link? Or where is this announcement you speak of? I am gearing up for my 2nd year of hallmark. But wait, did I hear a bunch of them left for a different network? ACM, CMA, TCM? Anyone know, is it normal cable? Lisa Loeb will star alongside Jeremy Jordan and Yael Grobglas in Hallmark's Hanukkah movie this year! It's called Hanukkah on Rye and will feature a couple brought together by a matchmaker who realise they are actually competing deli owners... Patti Murin will play a pop star going home for the holidays and helping his niece out with her school's Christmas production. It's called In Merry Measure (Hallmark as well). Derek Klena will star in one of Hallmark's most anticipated Christmas movies this year, A Holiday Spectacular, set in 1950s New York. It's the Radio City Rockettes movie everyone is talking about.  Don't fall for GAC's propaganda: no, a bunch of big Hallmark names did not leave the channel for them. Just a few. The big name they got was Candace Cameron Bure (no surprise, she's super Christian). The rest they got is unimpressive at best and never guaranteed a semi-permanent spot at Hallmark hence the departure. We're talking Danica McKellar, Jen Lilley (two actresses who were pretty heavily criticised by the audience for their acting when at Hallmark), 2 90210 alums (Trevor Donovan - who was pretty disappointing overall whenever he was on screen at Hallmark - and Jessica Lowndes) and a couple more meh names. All the big stars except CCB stayed at Hallmark and Hallmark is putting them to use this Countdown to Christmas with fan faves Andrew Walker and Tyler Hynes getting 2 Christmas movies each. Nikki DeLoach, Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett, Brennan Elliott, Taylor Cole, Luke McFarlane, Aimée Teegarden are all staying, several having signed multiple-movie deals when renewing their contracts. Andrew Walker + Tyler Hynes + Paul Campbell will all star together as brothers in a Christmas movie that involves taking care of a baby. Big buzz surrounding this one as well!  |

Well, I just printed out Sleepingbooty's Road to December post and I think I am going to create a little analogue notebook to guide me this DD season. Also downloaded the brand template - SWOON! The quote below may be my mantra for the entire season: "...to leave your mark not only as the storyteller but also as the creative mind behind these December memories left as a legacy. There's a part of me that's kind of tempted to make the carrot and pineapple salad this summer and put it in my DD along with the 2peas meat and vegetable jelly horror stories. I have no idea how I'd find it as an adult, but as a kid I loved it. |

Anyone know, is it normal cable? The different network you’re thinking of is Great American Family. I don’t know if it is included with normal cable. I dropped my cable service over the summer. I’m a big fan of Candace Cameron Bure and Hallmark movies so for me being without cable, I had to subscribe to Frndly TV. It includes the Hallmark Channels and Great American Family. Plus other channels, 40 in all I think. I’m just in it for the fall and Christmas movies and plan on dropping the service once the holidays are over. I’ve been disappointed in the movies on GAF so far. I’m holding out hope they will have good Christmas movies though. It’s 8.99/month for Frndly and I’m okay with the price through December. Definitely a fun icebreaker and perhaps someone in the family can find some photos of the original one (if you don't have one)? I'd totally use this opportunity for a then/now page, quoting what family members are saying about the old-time Jell-O tradition and such. These "small" memories often hold treasures of anecdotes and stories you haven't heard before and that may have been lost forever had there not been an occasion to bring them up... |

Lisa Loeb in a Hallmark movie, I’m so excited!! I loved the song Stay so much! My little preteen self could really belt out every word of that song by heart😂. The 90s were just my favorite!🥰😂
We’re finally in the home stretch of the December Daily boxing period. I’m so excited for my box to FINALLY ship!!👏🏻👏🏻It feels like it’s been 2 years(yes I’m dramatic)😂. Anyone still thinking about throwing stuff in their boxes last minute today, or tomorrow? I’m pretty confident I’m done. If I add anything it would be a couple sets of alphabet stickers, but they feel pretty overpriced to me, so we’ll see.
Is it just me, or does it seem like more stuff than usual that’s still not sold out at the end of the boxing period? I don’t usually follow it very close, but only one album, one set of stamps, and one kit are sold out. That felt unusual to me. Hopefully that doesn’t make them cut way back next year, and make everything super hard to get again.
Every time I go back and look at the Christmas Past kit, I can’t imagine that they’ve sold very many of them. It seems really pricey for how incredibly boring it looks. And I just can’t get past the wood mounted stamp set. It looks like a kit I would have ordered off of QVC in the early 2000s by phone. I feel bad for the people that were really looking forward to the class. I can totally see why they’ve exclusively attached it to this unsuccessful kit, but it feels like kind of a jerk move after they’d already mentioned the upcoming class, and got people excited about it. They really should have gave it free with the kit, and offered it to people separately.

I absolutely love the mug, and Hallmark ones, but I never attempt to buy anything from them, because I don’t enjoy really super chunky embellishments. The wood veneer is actually really thin and comes with adhesive on the back already. If you like the designs, you may like the wood veneer more. Also! I have noticed small dents on a few page protectors from the acrylic pieces, but I have not had anything break through the plastic so far. What brand page protectors do you typically use? I order the scrapbook.com brand specifically because they are a nice, heavy weight. Maybe that could explain the tearing. I have never tried adhering an acrylic piece directly to a page protectors, so I am not sure on that one. Hopefully someone else may have a suggestion for that. |

I love this group's ire for the layered life kit so much.
Y'all are the best.
This is snark at its finest.
I will need to see those embellishments for "real" before I would purchase. And I would not buy the whole kit.
I'm into the retro vibe of it.
On another note:
I deeply regret not buying the little sprigs that crate paper sold last year or the year before.
Does anyone still have any left? If so, can you take a closeup photo of them? I'm going to try to make them.
Certainly I can find some sort of greenery to cut down and tape...
