That would be a really fun way to do a DD highlights project, especially if one can let go of a need to include everything/ stick to a strict chronology. 25 good things about Christmas, or a daily highlight, or something inspired by a prompt list. I like that it could be minimalist like Booty's or a maximalist gathering of bits and bobs and pockets and things. This is what I'm thinking for the future. As my kid is starting high school in two weeks (omg), I'm thinking ahead to less busy times when she's out of the house. It would be cool to include memories too.

Anybody got must-buys yet from either the new scrapbook lines or first DD sneaks?
I was excellent at refraining and not buying all the things. I bought two each of two different papers. I have so many ideas Christmas and NOT Christmas related to using this line. Like the Does Anyone Need a Hug? sticker. I have two Autistic kids who hate hugs.
I LOVE the sticker pack.
I also bought these ugly sweater paper diecuts. The Ugly Christmas Sweater title is awkwardly large. My son has had a couple of ugly sweater days at his school. They were Elf and Christmas Vacation themed. My top two favorite Christmas movies.
AND Holy Cow! I haven't ordered much from scrapbook.com over the years, but I have a history going back to 2004! I discovered that site before the old 2 peas site.
ETA: I don't find the 10x8 size appealing. I'd rather just do 8.5x11 in a landscape size. I think it would be fun to get one of those clear view binders and insert a cover and something in the sign that is a bit more personalized.

I got the DD 2020 green felt folio at the 2.99 price! I wish I had bought more, at the 2.99 price!! Now I can't decide whether I want to do DD in this folio, or in a 6x8. I wasn't going to do DD this year, but when I opened my Christmas stash to make cards, I got soo much product to use up! Anyone have any pics or links for ideas to use the felt folio for DD? I'm looking for inspiration so I don't just sit on this folio and wait for the perfect project to use it with.

kimba The felt folio is all about using the blank notebook, isn't it? I would look for December Daily albums in notebook/TN format for inspiration. Heidi Swapp released a blank notebook with her AC Christmas collection a few years ago and posted a video showcasing how to use it. Decorating the felt folio cover itself should be easy enough with some hand embroidery, pins and whatnot.

Sharing this 10x8 DD flip-through by a graphic designer for those wanting inspiration for the larger format: I love her album! I jotted down a couple of ideas. I really like the stadium tag page. I’m going to sew some vellum shaker tags this year too.

kimba I don't have any DD specific inspiration in mind right now, if you're in the FB group maybe go through the photos? But Heba(@ hebaalsibai on ig)/ My Little Journal does a LOT in different notebook sizes and I always love how clean and sleek hers look. Last year she did October Daily and Thankful 30 mini albums in the Heidi Swapp sizes that came out great.

Not Christmas-related but since we have a group of Hallmark-watching DD-ers, I wanted to highlight this upcoming movie (August 13) because Hallmark is changing on all fronts and it feels good (I am totally going to watch this while scrapbooking):

Citrus twist has released more of their 6x8 linen covered albums in candy apple red, leaf green and spruce green for all those who do dd in this size and don’t like the ae chipboard offerings for 2022 (whatever they may be!) Large ring size/same as ae’s green linen album from last year. Geralyn sy is designing chipboards in their august kit so who knows, she may also do some designs for their Christmas kit this year?!?

That CT Christmas kit sneak is very unseasonal. I don't mind peachy pinks but considering the strong dislike these shades get on the board when other companies use them for December products, I'm curious to see how people will react to this kit. Oh What Fun by Pinkfresh was one of those collections where many lamented the inclusion of peachy pinks.

I quite like that CT kit sneak, although I seem to have it in my head that they typically do very traditional icons and elements that don't really fit the way I scrap the season. I'm definitely interested to see more as I love that peachy orange yellow combo for a warm Christmas.

I wonder if the CT kit would work with the tomato soup reds of AE’s kit. 🤔

I got the spruce. It’s gorgeous in person. Such a deep green. I got it for DD but I may be changing my mine on 6x8 so instead I think I’m just going to use it this fall.

Please tell me how you will use it. I got one last year to use for DD this year then realized the spine was too small for me and my chonk. I think it's too dark for a travel journal (I tend to go more summery with those). Maybe WITL next year. I enjoyed working with the size this year. But you're right. That spruce is absolutely gorgeous.

So starting in September just my everyday will go in there. It doesn’t really flow. I also do the same with my smaller life crafted album. Just everyday layouts shoved in until it’s full. I live in the north east so to me the spruce screams outside environment. It feels fall to me without being oranges/reds.

Those felt pockets came with full circle felt inserts in the live chat, right? In the live chat it was just like the picture, the cardstock circle that goes inside the red felt half circle. I doubt I'm going to want the whole kit so I'm going to try to use my silhouette to cut felt. I have never tried it before. Any tips?

I almost placed a mini order from Ali Edwards with a few cheap DD things but then I went back to designing my own minimalist stuff and I'm good again... Krampus got some love tonight! ETA: This got me thinking that we really need one of the companies putting out December kits to make an add-on with the unusual Christmas characters like Krampus, Saint Nicholas/Sinterklaas, la Befana, the magi, Saint Lucia, the Icelandic Yule Cat, Kramer being on strike for Festivus, etc. The December holidays are expanding and people are incorporating different traditions from around the world. It'd be nice to have a card set celebrating that.

Oh please, don't use that resized JPG with poor compression from the host (imgBB). Here's the proper PNG with correct sizing for digi/hybrid use. I will get around to finishing the Sinterklaas and Festivus versions later this week. There's also an Elf card with the same aesthetic if anyone's interested. Here's the PNG for digi/hybrid use.

I don’t have a Silhouette but I’ve cut lots of felt for Christmas ornaments using dies and my manual die cutting machine. It is usually advised to use some kind of stiffener for the felt to help it cut better, like a type of fabric fusion material. My felt was thick enough that I didn’t need that (and I recommend using mostly wool or 100% wool felt) Tagging Ryann as she is the felt and stitching guru and might have the best tips

I would also love it if one of the sites did a mini-kit for those of us who don't celebrate Christmas but do enjoy the project -- I am Jewish, and I totally get that this is Not My Month, but I love all of the festivity of that time of year and love documenting our Hanukkah traditions; just a winter add-on would be great (although I wouldn't complain about a Hanukkah-specific one).

Yes, big time yes! I'd be more than happy to make a few Hanukkah-themed cards to add to the growing minimalist card collection I've been working on. I've been thinking about designing a "Let's get lit" card with a menorah icon. I love the idea of taking out the word 'Christmas' and replace it with something more inclusive. I'm not Christian but I can see how the English name for the celebration is really in your face religion-wise. December is Totally Your Month, by the way. I'm an atheist from a non-believing family and it's My Month as well. You shouldn't feel excluded or not quite part of the DD project and that time of year. That's not ok. I hope you're aware many people around the world celebrate some form of Christmas without adhering to the nativity of Christ belief... I would guess Yule/Yuletide would come across too Pagan for some Peas. Would a generic reference to December be the most inclusive phrase? ETA: Jewish DD-ers, what about a journaling card that simply reads "Night n° ..."? And "You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round" with a dreidel icon?

I would also love it if one of the sites did a mini-kit for those of us who don't celebrate Christmas Have you seen these? AEIn the live about this year's release Ali said that one of the people on the creative team/design team (?) is Jewish and would be helping create a mini kit this year. It's probably digital. A couple of years ago, I got some nice Hanukkah embellishments at AC Moore but that store has gone out of business in my area. My daughter is Jewish (LOOOONG story, my mom was Jewish but raised me methodist, anyway) and we light the menorah every year. I always make a story of that in my DD. Last year I just made the photos black and white and used blue embellishments so that it would fit in with the overall colors. I'm not religious and generally throw out all of the holy sentiments that come with kits.
