Those felt pockets came with full circle felt inserts in the live chat, right? In the live chat it was just like the picture, the cardstock circle that goes inside the red felt half circle. I doubt I'm going to want the whole kit so I'm going to try to use my silhouette to cut felt. I have never tried it before. Any tips? DO NOT use cheap craft store felt. Get a good quality real wool felt ( also quality felt cuts very well in die cut machines ) |

A couple of years ago, I got some nice Hanukkah embellishments at AC Moore but that store has gone out of business in my area. My daughter is Jewish (LOOOONG story, my mom was Jewish but raised me methodist, anyway) and we light the menorah every year. I always make a story of that in my DD. Last year I just made the photos black and white and used blue embellishments so that it would fit in with the overall colors. I'm not religious and generally throw out all of the holy sentiments that come with kits. I do like that Hannukah card set but I scrap so little Hanukkah and I have stuff to use up. Maybe if it goes on sale after I’ll get it. |

This got me thinking that we really need one of the companies putting out December kits to make an add-on with the unusual Christmas characters like Krampus, Saint Nicholas/Sinterklaas, la Befana, the magi, Saint Lucia, the Icelandic Yule Cat, Kramer being on strike for Festivus, etc. The December holidays are expanding and people are incorporating different traditions from around the world. It'd be nice to have a card set celebrating that. I would love that - Advent, St Nicholas, St Lucia, the Magi... |

Darn it. My plan was to add a couple pages to the end of my PL album for a condensed “dd” as I just don’t feel at this point in my life I want a whole album. But I was watching Ali doing a walk through if her mom’s dd and I knew I had to make something similar. I’m still going to do the PL condensed version for THIS December events but I’m also going to make a December Daily/Christmas album with 25 stories of things that are Christmas to our family. We don’t still do all the things, or at least not every one every year (but most) but it will be a way to record all our traditions and I can use pictures from anywhere from when the girls were babies until now. I’m actually pretty excited about it. I easily came up with 25 topics for pages. I know my girls will love it.
Dd1 has mentioned she’d love if recorded all our Christmas traditions through the years so I know this album would be cherished. But dang, that will be a lot of work. But also, it should be fine- I can work on it for years really, as the stories won’t be really changing. And now I have an excuse to buy more DD supplies!!! Win win really 😂

I love the story of the Yule Cat, I'd not come across that before, but it's right up my street. Will be telling my children that as I gift them a jumper during December
I have just bought an old book called Maypoles, Martyrs & Mayhem which lists British myths, stories and customs for each day of he year. It's great! Worth keeping an eye out for it. December 7th is the story of a ghost who haunted the Wesley household. The name and description of this ghost? Jeffrey the Headless Badger. Made me laugh, anyway. I'm seeing a spread featuring the Crate Paper skunk/honey badger taking centre stage.
