Can someone please post the link to the live discussion about organization that was on Instagram at 5:30? I want to watch it on my computer, not my phone. I'm having issues logging in. Did anyone see the beginning part that was not recorded because it got cut off? Thanks! I really like watching these things. Oops. Was typing the same time as pantsonfireTry this: http://instagr.am/p/CkramNrqDs_

Am I the only outlier? Confession time: I haven't pulled out my DD box yet. I'm seeing finished Reason Why pages, people posting days 1-5 from the Product Play class (thanks for the free lesson), desks decked out with all the supplies. The DD enthusiasm train is full steam ahead and I haven't even made it to the depot.
I am trying to finish up my October Daily-I think each page is done, I need to get it into the album, add some numbers. That was fun, but I really had a trying month of October, so it wasn't as "fun" as I anticipated.
2nd confession: Other than a 6x8 album from scrapbook.com, I have bought DD supplies. I was planning on using my stash but open if items caught my eye. Nothing caught my eye enough, and I kept thinking the purpose of this year DD is to use up more Christmas stash, if not most of it. (My stash is one of those iris box.)

kimba - I’m with you! I have no desire to start diving into anything DD yet. We have weeks to go before our Christmas tree and decor is put up, and I have zero plans to begin anything before then. For supplies this year I bought an album (which I might save for something else), Ali’s gold stripe chipboard numbers, advent sticker calendar, and Paper Person’s diecuts & puffy stickers. The rest will be stash, which is mostly ollld holiday stuff purchased for PL. Last year I decided I would do a DD on New Year’s Eve, and I desperately wanted it finished by the day my kids returned to school from Winter Break a week later. And I did. All with stash, and it is perfect. I really couldn’t be happier with how it came together. I think if I started setting up all the DD stuff now I’d be over it all by mid December and sick of dealing with it before Christmas.

My first try at a how to video. I think I need to ask for a ceiling mounted camera holder for Christmas. Hope this helps anyone that wants to alter a 10x8 album down. How to Alter a 10x8 album to 6x8

kimba besides buying the acetate pages, I haven't done much for DD 2022. I don't start until Dec 1. That is when I begin. I don't like prepping pages or getting inserts done ahead of time. I like taking my time and working on my album during the month of December. I am in the holiday mood and it just feels right to me. It's a fun month long project!

Ok guys, I’m in trouble. Intended to use the 6x8 floral album. LOVE that album. During boxing I bought the greige linen 8x10 album for another project. I just watched Pascha Shepherd’s flip through of last years 8x10 album. Gosh, I’m in love. So many ideas, I can see myself using that album size. So what to I do? Anyone use and intensely dislike the 8x10 size? Can I use that size without using 4x4 photos (irrational dislike for square photos). Ugh, I don’t know what to do.
I’m joining the prep party this weekend that will be when I prep supplies and set up. Haven’t touched anything since unboxing.
I may do a title page, sketch some ideas. But I don’t do foundation pages.

But I don’t do foundation pages. I did 10x8 last year and only did the square photos one or two times. To have more variety of page protectors, I cut down page protectors intended for the 9x12 album and just cut the top row off. Then you end up with a 9x8 page protector (either 2 4x6 + 2 3x4 or 6 3x4) and I honestly kind of liked the inch difference because I like layering different sized pages/then you can add a fun tab or something to the edge and not worry about it sticking out of the binder. Maybe watch some more flip throughs of 10x8 and 6x8 albums and see which one you're feeling more inspired by! I would go with the size that you're excited to play with, that will make sure you have fun with the project. I have flip throughs of my 2021 10x8 and my 2019 6x8 on my youtube channel (lindalovescreating) plus there are so many other ones out there.

janamkeare you still open to using the page protectors with 4x4s? I watched Pascha's video after you mentioned it and she put 3x4s into 4x4 squares and I didn't think it looked off or weird -- if anything I liked the open space! She also used square photos in 4x6 spots and added her number or other embellishments in the open area as though it was a spot with a transparency.

I plan on watching some more flip throughs. I’m just so torn. I rarely use page protectors, usually make an effort not to with this project. But the cost of printing all the larger photos is daunting.

janamke you could always just do 3x4 photos matted on a 4x4 to avoid square photos. That would be an easy workaround.

Someone needs to slap my hand and hide my credit card. I am ---thisclose--- to not using the floral DD album and ordering the Joy album. UGH. I love the floral album but Im having a hard time being inspired with it. I just bought a tank of home heating oil today. I'm all warmed up hand-slapping away the urge to buy anything else. (winding up ....) gentle slap, slap, slap.

Someone cut down their Santa album to 6x8 on the DD group on FB and now it’s all I can think about. It’s adorable I went to look and found a YouTube video. ETA - Not sure if this was already posted?

I've muttered here previously about how my mojo seems to have disappeared this year and how I'm finding hard to get going. I have a bundle of "ingredients" for want of a better word, so no excuses there. However, on my IG feed this morning Heidi Swapp's post about her Storytellers Hometown Holiday project popped up http://instagr.am/p/Cktq-hFj696 and *bingo* it dawned on me that I don't have to do a "daily" journal at all!! Just because that's how I've always done it (I have seventeen on my shelf, I think) I could simply create a book of stories with no "countdown" or anything like it. Duh. Why didn't I think of that before? I don't think I will enrol in Heidi's workshop, though I have most of the supplies she lists (or similar enough). I wonder if a fresh approach is what I was looking for?

Went to Target and At Home to "look around" today.. I'm sure you all know how that went when we walked out of Target with $70 of stuff 🙃 Tangent, but the thing about Target stuff especially their in house branded stuff is that you HAVE to get it if you see it and think you'll want it.. because the chances of it being in stock in 2 weeks when you decide you actually want it are so incredibly slim. It's dumb and capitalistic and I bought into it today lmao Anyways I saw these stickers there too! Didn't end up getting them but the puffiness reminds me of KPs puffies-- at least similar to last year's idk how they are this year. I liked the angry looking nutcracker on the left 😆

And yeah, the daily thing is cool, but it's only one way to do it. I'm extremely impressed that you have so many completed albums.

I'm extremely impressed that you have so many completed albums. Hehe... it's because a) I was one of Shimelle's first signups b) I did one every year c) I'm a "completer" d) I'm old. On most days, it's most certainly d) !

I am bummed. I wont get to participate live in the DD prep day. I am going to meet my sister for lunch in a nearby town. I will definitely catch it on the replay, though.
So DH did a thing for me yesterday. We had cleaned out his granny's house and there was a small, wooden round table (seats 4) that was just being stored. He brought it home and hauled it upstairs to my scrappy room so I wouldn't have to clean off my work space when I wanted to switch projects. I will do DD on my regualar desk and then set my PL up on the round table so I can continue working on it without having to put it away each day. I will most likely chalk paint the table white eventually and add a glass top, but for now, it's going to work perfect!

Oh sorry you will miss the live prep day, mom. I love the table for switching to another project! I’ve been designing my scrap area in my mind for our new house and I’ve been planning a similar area and that is a real road block for me for not working on various projects.

Either my PL and supplies are out or I'm working on other projects and fall way behind on PL. It would be great to have two work spaces.

I posted in the Peachy Cheap thread but if anyone's still on the fence about doing DD today's deal is great if you liked the Make it Merry line from SS last year! Papers, both ephemera packs, the cardstock numbers, puffies, foam stickers, & the sticker book that comes with alphas/numbers/word phrases/etc for $24.

So last year was my first time doing a proper DD (previously just added extra pages and inserts into PL). I used a 6x8 and it was pretty full, but not bulging. The covers are nearly parallel, one more page could fit before the cover tilts outward. I added a couple pages beyond Christmas Day.
Is it at all possible to make a 4x8 work for me? It would obviously have the smaller rings. I have a couple ivory 4x8s that are speaking to me. Yes, two. But I’d really not want to HAVE to use two albums. I know a lot of people use multiple albums to fit their DD, and that just does not appeal to me at all. ChouPuff (so?) actually used THREE 8x10s last year and I can’t even imagine….
