Is it at all possible to make a 4x8 work for me? I did a 4X8 in 2020 just to get it done and it was fine. Instead of 2-page layouts like I usually do, most of my days were just one page. I also cut down on bulky embellishments. I used a citrus twist binder and it is not parallel but it's not too bad either. You just have to change your style a bit to be aware of it. I don't think I'll go back to that until the kid is in college. I like my albums chonky.

So last year was my first time doing a proper DD (previously just added extra pages and inserts into PL). I used a 6x8 and it was pretty full, but not bulging. The covers are nearly parallel, one more page could fit before the cover tilts outward. I added a couple pages beyond Christmas Day. Is it at all possible to make a 4x8 work for me? It would obviously have the smaller rings. I have a couple ivory 4x8s that are speaking to me. Yes, two. But I’d really not want to HAVE to use two albums. I know a lot of people use multiple albums to fit their DD, and that just does not appeal to me at all. ChouPuff (so?) actually used THREE 8x10s last year and I can’t even imagine…. THREE 8x10s?! OMG I can't even imagine... 3 albums a year for all projects combined is too much for me! I would say that it depends on your ability to edit. If you're good at boiling things down to the basics and keeping things simple you could definitely do it. Would you enjoy that? I would reflect on whether you enjoyed doing as much in last year's DD, wanted to add more, or if you can imagine keeping it more restrained.

honeypeaI'd be happy to facetime/zoom with you to show you my album. I have no idea how to record a video and post it. Seems like it would take something special I do not have. ALSO, there's a facebook group called small size albums or something like that: www.facebook.com/groups/264156084261105Great inspiration. And my favorite Amandarosezamp on Instagram did a 3X8 a couple of years ago and while it's bursting, it's great.

Look at what this crafter did to the inside cover of her DD album:

I wonder if a fresh approach is what I was looking for? Definitely! I think the daily book might be good for people with little kids and/or those with a lot of activities that month, but it would make one boring book for me this year. Blah blah blah December 1-15. BANG!! LOTS of stuff to photo and remember Dec 16-31. There's just no point doing anything by the day with a schedule like that, and that's perfectly fine. Fantastic that you've got all those older books done!

But I’d really not want to HAVE to use two albums. I've done days 1-25 in a 4x6 album that is full but not over full, and in a business card holder (so probably close to 3x8?). In the 4x6 I had a mix of single and double pages per day, and the embellishing was mostly but not entirely flat, I used enamel dots and hearts, some wood buttons, and some wood veneer. In the business card holder album I mostly stuck to one side per day and kept everything super flat. It had tiny rings, but it all fits just fine. I think if you're conscious of your embellishment choices and how many pages you use per day going into the project you should have no problem getting it in a single album.

I desperately need the DD prep day tomorrow. Haven't done a thing yet because work has been so busy. Still need to make more Christmas cards as well. I have some gardening to do this morning and will try and spend the afternoon in the craft room at least trying to finish my cards!

Wondering what everyone thinks about Product Play now that we are 11 days in. I’m not seeing a whole tone of shares on IG.
Since my mojo up and left town I’m thinking of enrolling. I am signed up for the prep day too.

I’ve never taken a project play class before so I have nothing to compare it to. I really enjoyed Ali’s class today using the chipboard nested circles. She had a lot of ideas incorporated into that class that gave me a lot to think about.

I’m excited for the prep day but have to laugh since it starts at 7am for me. I will be awake, but might watch the first segment in bed!

Wondering what everyone thinks about Product Play now that we are 11 days in. I've been enjoying it. I didn't get any of the products they are working with but most of the ideas can be translated. I like that most of the crafters are also giving other tips about how you can use the products in different ways too. It's not just "here's how to do this one thing." I've learned a lot so far.

Liz's (Paislee Press) new December You Are My Fave just hit the Lilypad shop - looks like it has the same pattern as her kit with Ali. 10x8 along with 6x8 templates.

The finished layouts haven’t gotten me excited enough to really dig in and watch the videos. I haven’t given them a fair shake but I’m not initially enthralled by the end product 😬 Nothing bad… just not as exciting as I had hoped?

Liz is usually a year ahead, which is fun as you get a sneak into her kit next year. The 10 collection from last year, is similar to Ali's kit paisleepress.com/2021/11/december-you-are-my-fave-no-10/

I’m racking my brain trying to remember the person who did really vintage inspired December Daily albums. She would offer a print out of the December calendar for us to use. I loved her blog and would l8e to revisit.

During the “stamp out this really long page of text” hour I decided I’d go through my alpha stamps. I have always kept them separate from other stamps. And in doing so realized I don’t have the alpha from last year - the block capital set with the line in the middle. I would have sworn I bought it in a sale after Christmas at some point. I did not order during the boxing period, the stamp went oos, but then later restocked. I’m just heckin bamboozled over this.

I swear I saw this at Aliexpress recently. It could take a while to find it again but I know where to start. I'll give it a go.

Just realised that I'm missing the tree-centred nested circles from the main kit. Grr, bloody annoying, especially as I wanted to use it today. Off to customer service I go.

For some reason, I think the block letters with the line through them were first sold with the travel collection, not the DD. I could be wrong, though.

And the second one had a very slightly different font that I liked better. I’m so confused because I was sure I had bought it. ETA: !!! I ordered “lined block alpha” in May. I can see the thumbnail in my orders summary. What in the world did I do with it. 🧐

OMG! I just found out my son and I will be getting to travel to Poland with my husband on a work trip for the first week in December! I'm so excited!! Now I need to figure out how to incorporate this into my Dec Daily. I don't want to do a travel mini book, cause I'm sure I will do a full vacation album at some point of all the details of the trip. But I will want to document this in my Dec Daily album too! Ahhh, so excited!!

Her work is beautiful and impeccable. My only quibble is her lack of detail on dates and supplies. Love her though.

EARLYBF50 for 50% off classes and digital. Today through Friday. Many of the retired project-based digitals (December Daily, One little Word, Week in the Life etc) have been brought back for $1. I bought some older main kits and Paislee Press kits as well as layered templates. Spent $5 and apparently saved $60 on the original price - which I never would have paid, but good value!
