Ok I took some screenshots from my computer for those who don't want to or cant watch the video for whatever reason.. I didn't do everything mainly things with text because they were backwards and wanted to read them correctly lol. There's quite a few so I'm gonna separate and spoiler them into sections! Also they're gonna be blurry but it'll help you get the gist of it Album itself w/ gold foiling inside stripes - some of the 6x8 papers - some 3x4s - all the cards are double sided like usual with the paislee press stuff assorted 4x6s - lisa went through these sooo quickly! lol I got the best shots I could. Transparency overlays/chipboard/puffies - wood veneer pieces/stamp -

That floral album was all kinds of 😍. I already bought the spruce 6x8 from citrus twist but I might get the floral album for a different project.
I bought the PP kit from last year on sale and I only paid like $11 for it and truthfully I like it better (love the pinks + reds in it) although they seem pretty similar to me. So I won’t be needing this year’s which will be a relief to my wallet! Lol

I was able to jump on the live for just a few minutes but I caught the floral album. I love it. Can’t wait to watch the whole thing this weekend.

I saw about 30 seconds of the video with the floral album. That was enough for me. 😍😍😍 I’ll watch everything else later.

So, I'm currently catching up with the Fa La La Live chat with Liz. First of all, Liz is my scrappy homegirl. She's always been. Gateway drug to minimalist documenting. Her old DD albums are to die for, so simple and so perfectly executed. No page protectors either! She's a little more on the shy side when it comes to cameras and interviews so this hour spent with her is such a treat. I loved seeing her super engaged body language, trying to see every piece that was shown, being so humble about her own designs. And then that super well curated essentialist DD stash, oh my! Perfection. Her DD mini kit this year is a hit in terms of designs and aesthetic as far as I'm concerned. I'm very happy to see some earthy tones making it back into the colour scheme as well. I think she's done a wonderful job with the Christmas floral pattern (and it seems usable for nearly every season of the year). The journaling cards are elegant and have some great prompts ("most wonderful", "it's lovely weather for"). And yay, Inked are going for PP-sized papers instead of actual 6x8! Buuuut because I know I won't use at least half of the puffy sheet (I just don't love puffy that much), none of the transparency overlays (hate the way some of my Jasmine Jones ones have aged) and none of the wood veneer pieces, I'm probably not buying. As an international, I will pay close to $50 for this mini kit alone (kit + shipping + VAT on both the kit and the shipping). A set of papers, cards and a chipboard sheet are not worth $50 to me. Had there been an embellishment that was different (not more word-related stuff like the cards, chipboard, puffy stickers and stamp set) like a set of numbers (would have loved an ephemera pack with a variety of Liz-designed numbers in small rectangular banners, larger circles and squares), I'd have my reptilian FOMO brain activated and would spend the money. Were I living in the US, I'd probably treat myself to the mini kit and Liz's album (despite the meh quality track record for Inked albums) and RAK the pieces I wouldn't use. But neither of those scenarios are real so I'll likely pass and see if any kits are left over next year and will go on Christmas in July sale. I lowkey hate how reasonable I've become... (Dammit though, Liz's kit would fit perfectly with the DD colour scheme I chose this year! )

4x6 stamp (idk if included? not usually right? so probably not) The stamp set is always a separate purchase. Re: cards + papers in the mini kit 9 7x8.25 papers 16 3x4 cards 6 4x6 cards

I think it is so odd that there is yet more wood veneer. It seems like it has been in every single kit lately and I keep thinking maybe Inked has an under the table contract with someone who makes wood veneer crap. Like its just way too much of something that is bulky, not archival at all and not versatile.
Otherwise I loved loved it, but did not love that and I am sure Ali's main kit will have even more. I could heat my house with all of the wood veneer I have gotten from Ali kits in the past 2-3 years.

I really like that floral album. I love that floral album! I don’t even need an album as I got carried away last year and bought that cheap kit that came with an album with the intent I’d use it this year… argh!! But it’s so pretty.

That floral album is really beautiful. It's not something I'd use for DD, but the wants to spend all the money part of me is wondering if I can come up with another project to use it for.

FJ have their first sneak of the Christmas kit on their stories. This doesn't particularly wow me, the embellishments we can see feel like they've been done before and I don't love that shade of red with the Christmas green.

I need to remind myself: "hold the line.... hold..."

That Paisley Press mini kit is gorgeous and I love, love, love the floral paper and really love it as an album (it reminds me of a paper from Crate Paper's Merry Days and that is not a bad thing). I'm really impressed with all the sneaks Ali has put out recently. I was left feeling so cold last year with her release, but I can see myself using everything that's been revealed so far. I can feel my bank account wincing at the thought of all of this...

I almost placed a mini order from Ali Edwards with a few cheap DD things but then I went back to designing my own minimalist stuff and I'm good again... Krampus got some love tonight! ETA: This got me thinking that we really need one of the companies putting out December kits to make an add-on with the unusual Christmas characters like Krampus, Saint Nicholas/Sinterklaas, la Befana, the magi, Saint Lucia, the Icelandic Yule Cat, Kramer being on strike for Festivus, etc. The December holidays are expanding and people are incorporating different traditions from around the world. It'd be nice to have a card set celebrating that. For all the krampus fans out there, I just found cc designs have a krampus stamp. I think sleepingbooty’s design is scarier though!

I'm loving the album.
I think that Simple Stories album is going out of the cart for now. If I cant get the floral one, I'll go with it but I won't buy both.
I just love a weird floral. And that one is absolutely gorgeous.

Have we seen any pricing on AE stuff yet? I feel like she knows the floral album is going to go fast and will squeeze every dime out of it. Thoughts?

It would be the wrong moment re: inflation to up the prices but the new packaging of the kits made me think we're looking at 29.99 for the Paislee Press and Pam Baldwin minis. 6x8 chipboard album was 29.99 last year. I could see an increase to the 2021 linen price, 32.99, but not more. I wonder if the main kit will stay under $60 this year or break through that barrier. Many unknowns... It'll be interesting to see how the brand behaves in these financially strained times.

sleepingbooty Your Krampus card is amazing, I will only be shopping with KP this year, I have plenty of stuff and don’t need more and no one else appeals to me usually. I am hoping she will include some Non US centric characters. She is our only hope.

My IG stories feed is suddenly full of images of the Liz DD kit - I guess everyone is trying to win it? Lots of excitement. And Ali's talking head keeps popping up as an ad but I always skip past. The cynic in me says that they are doing a hard sell because her kit didn't do so well last year. I do think it will be different this year given how much everyone likes the floral album. I love LT's style and her kits easily mix and match but they are also repetitive and that's why I wasn't so into her kit last year.... I also don't love the scrawley handwriting. My 21 DD is still in progress. Slow and steady, but I'm mostly using KP products. So that's a lesson for me.....stick to buying what I know I'll use vs eye candy.
