What’s the big brouhaha on RTS?

If this was video games, I'd say "real time strategy", but seems doubtful in context.

I have no idea! Facebook makes it almost impossible to find things in the timeline, as it isn't chronologically ordered, nor does it show every post in the timeline. Admins said the "offending" post wasn't deleted to serve as a lesson, but in a quick search, I can't seem to find it. However, without being able to find that original offending post, the "clean-up" seems to be over the top, potentially much more dramatic and damaging than the offending event itself. I believe a quick deletion and the suspension of the offending poster and moving on would have been a better way to go, rather than the vague and reprimanding statements that followed.

I am not condoning bad behavior toward a prolific content creator, Janet offers a ton to the scrappy community and I appreciate her contributions, but I am not willing to jump to judgement, based on hearsay and limited information. The emotion-ridden posts and comments that have followed seem to be adding more fuel to a situation that could have been swiftly taken care of, adding toxic positive positivity to the mix. This is fueling the negative feelings for the many of us that wouldn't have noticed otherwise and have no idea what really happened.

Up until now RTS seems to be great scrapbooking group. I hope this blows over soon and that Janet continues to enjoy her contributions and recognizes that there are many who appreciate what she does, as well as many that appreciate the creation and hosting of the RTS group by it's admin.

Looks like "RTS" is short for "Record the Story" in case anyone else was confused. Patreon page is all kinds of 'look at me, I'm so religious' language and the only things allowed are back pats and 'atta girl' accolades. Yiiikes.

Is this a case of the teacher punishing the entire class because of one student? Did she delete/private all her publicvideos just because of a back-and-forth with a follower?

it was not even back and forth. It was just a matter of statement that Janet didn't like. And another poster backed up first poster. Both were deleted and blocked from the FB group.

Elsabelle yep that is what happened. I was involved. I called her out for being bossy and telling "grown ass women" how to interact on a message board. She didn't like that. She went so far as to write me a letter and send it stating how wrong I was, how I hurt her feelings, etc.

I know she used to post there but don't know if she hair flipped.

Janet actually said “I will leave this hobby as you and others want” in one of the deleted threads. All because she *thinks* someone said something bad about her at the online crop. NO ONE asked the person who hosted what really happened… just took what the original pot stirrer said as fact (even when people came on and said her post was filled with half truths and lies). It was so gross to watch.

I *did* verify the story with a couple of attendees and they agree the OP was off the mark. But no one really wanted the truth.

her board name was always cherrypicker. She never put out her real name until she did the private Patreon group. Maybe she used her real name on YT, I can't remember.

I think she did post on the old 2Ps board. However I don't she she hair flipped outta there. Just the other message board. That is where my drama with her occurred.

One anonymous someone said that another (semi?) anonymous someone doing a video may have said something negative, with no other qualifications or context. And that resulted in the aforementioned meltdown and nuclear deletion of an entire YouTube channel's worth of videos?

to the best I could follow on the deleted post, yes. The OP on FB was somewhat pot stirring and hand slapping. There had been a comment or two about Janet and then the group moved on. This happened in the online YT crop. I "know" 3 of the parties involved. The 2 blocked and deleted. Trust me, I am on the 2 blocked sides.

Let me see if I can make it clear (but I wasn’t there).

A YT has a small online private crop (open to many, but maybe a dozen attend). Janet comes up in convo for a bit (as does other favorited YTs). Another attendee goes on the RTS FB and blasts said YT (did not mention her name, just enough identifying details) about not lifting up women but tearing them down (does anyone else see the irony here) and that she has unsubscribed and removed herself from the FB group. All the fans jump on board blasting what a horrible person said YT is (based only on OP hearsay). Janet demands that someone tell her who it is because she *knows* this must be about her. And it all goes down from there. Literally, NO ONE asked if this was true just slammed the YT crop host. But a couple attendees said it was with half truths and lies. But their posts meant nothing compared to the OP.

I still can’t get over it. Why didn’t the OP just remove herself and walk away saying this is not for me?
