Saying you don’t like someone’s hand movements or accent is hardly bullying, as others have said that is merely having an opinion. Now gathering your minions to harass the YTer and tattling on them to Patreon is the very definition of bullying. |

Janet and her followers have grabbed their torches and pitchforks because someone didn’t like her accent and hand movements? This is absurd. I can’t imagine going after the YouTuber/host for something so minor. It’s not a personal attack on Janet’s character. These are minor pet peeves. We all have them.

Can I confess that these are my favorite types of threads? The schadenfreude is so delicious. I don’t begrudge anyone setting up shop and having fan girls. I do think it’s shitty to encourage your followers to gang up on another creator (either implicitly or not she is condoning it). You may keep some of your current fan base, but you also piss off people who will leave or now only know you for the drama. It’s the Streisand Effect in motion.

I honestly had a hard time following this drama, still not sure I understand, but hope these women can work it out and not continue the drama. What's that saying? Just because someone starts, doesn't mean you have to finish?! I have taken classes with Janet through other events. I enjoyed her classes, she has some great ideas. I am not familiar with the patreon or youtube, I go on youtube like once a month for a few minutes. That said there are great youtubers/scrappers/creators who have great ideas, organization, techniques, but maybe also aren't everyone's cup of tea with their delivery. Some I watch more or less. Just because you don't like something about someone, doesn't mean you don't like them at all or can't appreciate/respect parts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion... I am now curious if I already follow the youtuber, but it would have to be someone somewhat established since I havn't followed anyone new lately...will also appreciate a clue. Thanks! I also really appreciate the peas who tried to explain this story! |

okay, I have to know who the YouTuber is, too! Sounds like it might be someone I already subscribe to, as well. And I think the RTS drama is very high-school... I was a member of the FB group for a while, but honestly, it was a bit too much 'rah rah' for my taste, rather than 'content' driven, if you know what I mean. I did watch the RTS videos on YouTube, but when she left Youtube over the 'adult content' changes that were going to be made, I didn't follow her to Patreon.

Currently struggling with anxiety regarding this entire experience even though she saw previous experiences with this behavior before. And there seems to be a sense of hesitation and fear with new people coming to her as she can't trust if they are more people with threats, to be nosy and report back (there's nothing to report back), and is basically just waiting for everything to blow over and move on. |

If someone could send me the YTer's channel, I'd be grateful. Want to go on a thumbs up campaign for their videos.  ETA: Someone can always leave the YTer a message linking back to this discussion so she knows not to be paranoid about every new follow. Leaving love on her videos when you freshly sub (likes + comments) will also help ease her mind that some people are newly following in support of her, not to report back to Janet/RTS Patreon group or systematically downvote. |
