Stamptember is a few days away

I hate that if I see something on day 3 and something else in day 18 I have to pay for shipping twice ( and so slow for the $!$) so I wait and see what’s left at the end. Generally everything I want sells out and I forget about it and it’s fine.

In past years (prepandemic) I bought 2 items and one was a mistake, not my style once I had time to really think about it, and the other is a great stamp but not very good quality. I later got a related stamp directly from the collab company and it’s better quality (the lines on the SSS one are strangely shallow so I get ink in the bits that shouldn’t get ink on them) and just as fun or better than the SSS collab design. So idk, I try not to even look because I don’t want to be FOMOed.

I don’t do stamptember. The stuff is way ( way ) over priced AND you expect me to stay up til midnight to over pay?

What? Huh? Like I might get up at midnight for a discount but not to over pay.

I get such a sour attitude that I don’t even follow or watch videos because I feel it’s a scam.

I guess I'm the outlier, I always have fun in Stamptember. Do I always like everything? Absolutely not. Do I suffer from FOMO the whole time? Yes. I always look out for Lawn Fawn. This year I'm adding Gina K and Pinkfresh to my must see list. I'm also low key paying attention to SSS releases. I've purchased quite a few of their branded items this year and I like what they've been coming out with.

So I usually stay up until midnight to check out the new releases.... lol 

I totally hear you.....everything you said reminds me of the good ol' days of scrapping when I would refresh my screen a million times when new SC kits came out. 


I hope this year Lawn Fawn comes through. I can't remember what I bought last year but I remember being really disappointed (and not buying) LF.

I find I overspend if I have FOMO, so I'm better off NOT watching for sales like these. 

This is one event where it pays to be on the west coast. Iirc we get to see the release at 9pm! There’s no way I would be looking at midnight.

I got the Gina K set last year and it was only $1 or two more than her regular sets. Maybe you ended up looking at the stamp and die bundle thing. I paid around $25 for the set. Something like that. I didn't end up getting the dies. My understanding is that SSS sets the prices. Not the companies.

Yep, I was looking at the combo. Usually from Gina K, a stamp set that size with dies comes to a little over $50, which is enough to get free shipping. The set from SSS was around $60, but then the additional $7.99 for shipping. SSS does set the prices; from what I understand, the other companies do up the artwork and SSS takes it from there - they decide how many they're going to order and SSS orders it from their manufacturer. Learned this from a couple of years of observing the gnashing of teeth that one set or another sold out right away, and they should limit customers to one of each set because people are buying extras to sell at an inflated rate, but what if my friends and I want to order together to save on the shipping . . . the DRAH-MAH!

I'm not bashing anyone who enjoys the event. It's  a great idea - September was a low-sales month for them and they created an event to counteract that. But I know that ~~I~~ can get too caught up in thinking I need things because they are limited quantities, and then I don't use them. So it's best for me to ignore as much as possible. And there will always be other sets that I will want, where I don't have to stay awake and order right away in order to get them.

Same. But can you imagine the logistical nightmare?

It would be cool if they did a discounted shipping rate for Stamptember.

From sneak peaks on IG, looks like tonight's reveal might be their SSS-branded  Stamptember stuff.
