I bought imported candy corn last October off of Ebay. It's not sold over in the UK and as it features heavily on what feels like almost every halloween scrapbook line ever, I thought I'd give it a go. Do people actually like that stuff? I *love* sweets, I have a terrible sweet tooth, but man, candy corn just tasted of disappointment and sadness.* When I had my first candy corn 15-ish years ago, after so much build-up from American Halloween, I thought something had gone wrong during transport (it was kindly sent by an American). Must be a bad batch or something... Then I had some "fresh" ones in the US and nope, biggest disappointment in terms of sweets ever. It's just sweet, nothing more to it. I got several bags to make sure! And then had to find some way to unload those bags of sweets I had now unsealed... Ugh. No judgment if you enjoy them. There's probably a nostalgic thing at play there. But as someone who had them for the first time as a young adult, it was completely baffling how successful they were. I'm sure there is an indie, artisan candy store somewhere in America that makes a delicious flavoured version that I'd enjoy but the basic ones are completely blah.

Haha. Yeah, candy corn can be divisive. I totally understand why someone wouldn’t like it - it’s cloying sweet sugar in a waxy form. That said, I love them!!!! But only once a year and only a little handful at a time or you feel sick. Actually I don’t think I had any the last two years. It’s in my October Daily “bucket list” this year.

Would you mind sharing a link? I don't know where to start with her since I just started following her. I bought that fall kit that was posted here a few days ago and I love it. This is the video I lifted some pages from -- linkShe did an OD foundation inspo video for her collection Goldenrod too! -- linkkimba I love that vellum paper you used for your scary movies page! Was it pre-printed or did you do that yourself?

Do people actually like that stuff? I actually really like eating candy corn once a year. I did a page on it because the freebie from Ali looked like candy corn. It's a layered template but I just kept the colors that they used as placeholders. I make myself laugh with my layouts sometimes. page 8I did end up adding an 8 at the bottom. Thanks for these! I'll watch tonight.

I'm not doing an October daily this year, just popped in on this thread and noticed the candy corn comments. My SO decided to try candy corn again this year, he snuck a few pieces, decided that he hated it, tried to spit it out and accidentally inhaled it. I heard some horrible, coughing, strangling noise coming from the kitchen...I had to Heimlich him. Moral of the story...leave the candy corn to us candy corn professionals

Mommy I love Candy Corn. I wish I could still eat it. My favorites were the pumpkins and black bats or cats (can't remember). They were like caramel flavored.

Ok, I am done with days 1-9 of my October Daily! I’m taking a different approach than most here I think… I’m just incorporating the idea/spirit of October daily in my regular weekly project life. I’m just expanding it a bit to make it fit. First up is October 1-2. Since it was a sat/sun I just did a whole spread so I could start fresh the next week going by week. And then for the following weeks I’m doing my regular 12x9 pages but adding a 12x6 insert for each week, too.

I'm sure there is an indie, artisan candy store somewhere in America that makes a delicious flavoured version that I'd enjoy but the basic ones are completely blah. Oh no! Lol. I don’t know if anyone is making gourmet candy corn but I’m pretty sure you can now buy pink and red ones for Valentines… eye roll I laughed and laughed at Shimelle trying to explain candy corn to non-American people on one of her videos. Disappointment and sadness is pretty spot on. And cloyingly sweet, which I think someone else said. Someone had been confused by all the “traffic cone” embellishments in Halloween collections, which is a fair confusion to have. I am pretty tolerant of sweets (OK, lbr, I can eat a spoonful of sugar quite happily, I’m very tolerant of sweets!) and I don’t mind the weird texture, but I can’t eat more than a handful of candy corn. I kept a jar of them for decoration and was never really tempted to eat them. I think they look cool in a flat lay though.

When I first tasted candy corn in my 30s, I spat it out. Could not for the life of me understand why my DH, who is pretty picky about his chocolate, would like candy corns. But then I don't suppose anyone would get my love of milk bottles, squishy shrimp and banana & mushroom foams. Oh and space saucers..... Too each his own. If you ever come to my house I will happily trade you all the peanut butter cups for gummy bears. www.aquarterof.co.uk/pink-shrimp-sweets

There is an interesting convo going on in the DD thread about interactive pages. I love a mix. I have to say I got a lot of love on this super simple page yesterday and I thought it may have been too simple. http://instagr.am/p/CjdOZV8ugET I did take the flat lay 3 times to make sure the spacing was right. So sometimes simple is still not simple. I'm blaming you for 2 things: a) I bought the stamp and b) I bought a bag of sour patches!!! I am most definitely copying this layout a gazillion times!! The weird thing about my stop and shop is that they only had large extra long packs of twizzlers in chocolate and liquorice. Like a giant slab of chocolate. I'm guessing the buyer messed up. Not surprisingly the boxes were all full. I grabbed the last multi pack of sour patches.

I need to leave some detailed love on the gorgeous pages that were shared in here over the past couple of days! Pardon my silence on the matter but little Luna just got spayed and is getting most of my attention right now as I'm staying over for the night to help care for her (and her demanding foster brother).
I've picked up some extra Halloween goodies from Hema so I'm hoping to prep a few RAK envelopes this weekend! 🎃👻🕷️

I am really proud of myself for not buying the Peachy Cheap today. I had to look over everything and remind myself that's not how I make layouts. I don't use those kinds of embellishments very often so I don't need hundreds of them. I have enough already.
I like little puffy stickers here and there. And I also bought the digitals for Hey Pumpkin and there are plenty of good designs in there that I can print. I need to figure out how to use the silhouette to also cut images that I print. Maybe tonight.

little Luna just got spayed and is getting most of my attention right now How is that sweet little baby doing? Poor thing. Thank you for asking. She's doing well! I had a deal with her ("You wake up after surgery, ok?" but she didn't seem to have a clue what I was saying with her big, bulging Tim Burton-esque eyes ) and she went through with it. She's still a bit in pain around her stitches and requires help to get up even on the steps from the terrace to the garden but she's much chippier today than she was yesterday. And back to being crazy about treats, so that's a very good sign! She has a quick check-up tomorrow at the vet. Paws and fingers crossed all is well and she is on the road to full recovery. Also, we just found out her official Gotcha Day is to be this Saturday! We're all super excited my mother gets to sign those papers and be her forever mama. She will hand over her current foster, Roxy, to his new family on Saturday as well. She'll also pick up a new foster, a super grumpy-looking (but apparently gentle and kind) French bulldog called Rothschild (here come the conspiracy theorists!). It's going to be one dog-filled weekend! My 2022 October documenting is turning into "OOOOH, PUPPEHS!", the book. This photo of Roxy is definitely going to be a full page in my album. Can't believe I managed to snap a decent portrait of him. This dog has zero chill. Like, it's in the minus somewhere. It's no adorable cat costume (and ugh, those shadows) but hey, I'll take it.
