sleepingbooty follow away! I only post my scrappy stuff there. So glad Luna is doing well! And Roxy is gorgeous. So happy for you and your mom. So I went to my first college football game in 30 years last night because of my kid’s band fundraiser thing and it was actually fun. The WVU Marching band is really good and we got to watch the halftime show. This weekend we are going to Pittsburgh to go to a tiki bar to celebrate my and my friend’s October birthdays. I’m so excited. Lots of stories for the album.

Anyone have a tutorial for something like this? It goes too fast on my phone. I get the black card stock but what is she stamping and coloring on? Just vellum? Or is that the shaker pocket? What is a shaker pocket? Am I overthinking this? Just do all dark except what you what to find with the flashlight? www.instagram.com/reel/CjRZcsEp_0_/?igshid=NmNmNjAwNzg=

I think she first stamps on white cardstock, inserts that under some transparency. traces out the design and colours on transparency (I guess by using copic type pens). Removes template. inserts black cardstock behind....and inserts yellow "flashlight" between the transparency and black background...
I think she has a pre made shaker pocket type material and is using that vs using a transparency and red line tape

Just do all dark except what you what to find with the flashlight? The colouring work is done on the shaker pocket itself which you must fill in except for the ghosts and clouds (colour the sky dark blue). Shaker pockets are sold ready to be used. I know Tonic Studios carries them but there are other brands as well. You back the shaker pocket with black cardstock. The flashlight is a shade of yellow that isn't too dark (on regular white cardstock) so when you move it around between the filled-in shaker pocket (except for the ghosts + clouds) and the black cardstock, it gives the illusion you're lighting up the ghosts + clouds. Does that make sense? You're creating the light-up effect by blocking off the black cardstock in the back and having that dark navy sky on the shaker pocket itself. That's how you "light up" the ghosties and clouds. No vellum or anything else needed. Tonic Studios has a Shaker Creator range with clear shaker pockets ready to use.

I think she has a pre made shaker pocket type material and is using that vs using a transparency and red line tape I think that is what she is doing as well. For school we do a project like this using sharpies and a plastic bag. I would think a stamp pocket would be super easy to use for this. Or even a page protector.

Ok this is all super helpful. thank you!
I guess you just deal with the marker lines on the plastic? I guess that's why I thought it was something else. There are some on ACOT that I put into my cart cause they already have the folded over edges. I think it would be hard to score and fold down the edges of plastic but I'll get my brain around doing it with what I already have. I'm going to practice with the bags stickers come in.

I was away for the weekend (finally some non-dog pictures for the album, yay) and I still need to catch up on this thread (shame on moi) but I wanted to share this lucky find because I think some of you could be interested. Looking for ID pet tags for Luna on AliExpress, I came across these super cool ouija board planchette tags. There are two sizes (smaller one is just over an inch by just over an inch) and you can order it in black with white engraving for an extra spooky effect! I think this would be oh-so lovely to make your own charm for your album spine. Maybe get 2022 engraved instead of the pet name and on the back "October Daily"? The small black version would cost around US$ 3 only, shipping included. I think it's a steal for such an awesome, custom charm element. As always, please add 'message to vendor' with customisation as you place your order and then message them directly again through the contact form using your freshly placed order to reiterate your customisation. Keep in mind these are Chinese vendors not always super acquainted with the English language and the latin alphabet so be clear. E.g. // Front (pet name): 2022 Back line 1: October Daily Back line 2: 2022 Anyway, totally ordering one for our little Luna. Of course. Duh.

Film was expensive in the 70s. This was the only pic I have of my sister and I dressed for trick or treating. That room takes me back! My childhood home was built in 1973. I was youngest of five children, so there's less photos of me. I am impressed with what I do have though!

kimba, thanks for sharing! I am trucking right along with the project. Have more ideas left than stories (going to 31). I'll figure something out. Will probably do one day of decorations instead of 1 day for inside and 1 day for outside. How is everyone else doing? I'm still having fun with this. For the most part keeping it really simple.

I can't scrapbook in advance, I will work on my album next month, but I was taking photos like a madwoman this weekend. I got to visit my favorite kids and we had so much fun. Pumpkin patch, Halloween cookie decorating, carving pumpkins, making stuffed day of the dead skulls, magic tricks, and Halloween themed slime play. We did other stuff too but the Halloween stuff will go in my October book?
When I got home I had received a package of goodies I ordered from a lady on Instagram. Her handle is sparkling ghoul. She doesn't have much Halloween up right now but I got several cute cellophane Halloween bags, some Halloween flat charms, and a whole bunch of nightmare items. A giant Jack felt head and bat bow tie, cool papers, zero tags galore, a little cupcake flag with Sally and Jack, cellophane gift bags etc,. I can't wait to use them in my album.
This weekend will be another doozy to document. Witches Tea, All night Horrorthon, elixer experience at Halloween bar and another pumpkin patch.
I love all the pages being shared, so much great inspiration you guys provide! Thank you so much!!

I'm very tempted to buy these. I already know I'm not cool. 😁 They are eyeglass toppers. They already took the Halloween ones off! I was partial to the black ones with green slime. Anyway, they feel Halloween-ish.

Forgot to add I watched The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. It was okay, but too much whining dialogue from a lot of the actors. I'm inpatient.

I cannot wait to see more of this That might fix my need to have the Pebbles diecuts from the spooky line cause all I wanted was those moths. These are similar. She is having a sale right now. It think 40% off Fall kits. Not that 8.50 is unaffordable.

Catching up but there is so much cute fall stuff, I can't even. I have to ask, do you have a costume for the baby? There is nothing cuter at Halloween. 100% agree! We have a handmade knitted baby Yoda outfit my bestie gave us that was made by a friend of his. It's so cute and has the sweetest little Yoda feet, so we'll be using that. ecvnj58 Adore your layout. Totally scraplifting it too! It will be adorable for DD too. Charwee Candycorn is a bag of disappointment and sadness. As a joke, my DH bought some candy corn flavored licorice at the little local store and it was even worse. Like spit out of my mouth immediately worse. Fun, but awful. He redeemed himself by putting up a ton of lights that we can program so now I have cool Halloween lights and can switch to Christmas lights the day after Halloween. @sarahsprettypappers I can’t wait for the new TR collection either.

This looks great! Lately her collections have been a bit to pale and washed out for my tastes, but these colors look so rich and saturated

How is everyone doing with their projects?
I'm done up to day 16. I have everything ready for a story about us getting pumpkins. Just need to print photos and assemble. And I have photos taken for another story about getting Cat Lady Box (we got the kid a subscription for Christmas but started it now so she could get the black cat box they do every October -- so good. Cat people, I felt this was worth it).
I've been taking photos of our decorations.
So I realized that half the month is over and there are a lot of things I made that I haven't used yet. I went through everything and made a list of what I really want to use this year. I haven't gone through the swap stuff yet.
- put pom trim along the edge of a page - use cool new ribbon (potion bottle) - use the AE b&w 6X8 paper with the grey ovals - use the pumpkin card - make a page out of the coffin - black cat die cut - black cat with moveable tail and legs - black cat puppet - jack-o-lantern bag - house scene (this will probably work well for the decorations)
I also just bought the Boo to You kit from Studio Calico. I've been waiting for a sale and I set an alarm on my phone for tonight.
The kid is away for the weekend so I'm going to have a little more time to play.
This morning I used the ghost stencil I bought from AliExpress with the marcasite butter and covered the cauldrons I cut out with ghosts and it is cool. I'm going to stitch the edge of the cauldrons together to make a pocket. The photos will go in there. I punched out circles that will be the bubbles of what's brewing and serve as tabs to pull the photos in and out.
This project is really fun so thank you all for enabling me.

blemon glad you are having so much fun with your October daily! I am Also done through day #16. I was having fun but this week has been kind of a bust. We have terrible air quality with wildfire smoke- Seattle area listed as currently worst air quality in the world- so we haven’t been doing anything outside. I have some small stories (which is fine since they are just in my project life) but I was planning more fall related stuff this week with leaves etc. Rain is finally coming for us tomorrow which will be a very good thing for the smoke but also bad for outside fall activities. Oh well. I’m still doing the project, it’s just a little more “every day with a fall twist” now when I wanted more “hard core fall” inspired stories. 😂

Portland has been terrible as well, really hoping the rain comes tomorrow as promised.

I wanted this to be less "daily" and more Fall/Halloween. But it is what it is. The month has just been so busy. We do have a party tomorrow night and another next weekend so maybe that will help.

Portland has been terrible as well, really hoping the rain comes tomorrow as promised. The Bolt Creek fire near Skykomish east of Seattle was the worst for our air quality, but there was also the Goat Rocks fire near Packwood and one down near you in Clark Co. All improving now that the weather has shifted. And now they’re promising a rain system every 36 hours from now until… the end of time, I think? Blergh. I know we need rain but the endless cycles of wet weather get me down a bit! It hasn’t felt like October here at all. Spider season came early, and it’s been so hot and dry, smoke season was so late, and now I’m just cold and grumpy because of the sudden transition to the gloom.

now I’m just cold and grumpy because of the sudden transition to the gloom. I feel this. We had weeks of rain. I forget how many days they said we had rain but it was the longest streak in a very long time. Luckily, we've had glorious weather the past couple of days and it will last for a few more. It refuels me as we head into winter. Gloomy weather is the worst. I hate when it's monochrome outside.
