HERE. FOR. THIS !! I have zero idea who's in the Lifetime movies and need to look those up to see which ones I want to see cos I know I won't be able to get through them all. And while I won't watch GAC, if there's a pairing I feel like I'll die without seeing... there's always a way š“āā ļøā ļø My boyfriend wanted me to come up with a list of my favs to watch each week so I went through a ginormous list of movies and whittled it down but that "small" list is still 24 movies

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm starting to get excited for the beginning of Christmas movie season - I really need the escapism and good feelings of them this year!!! I haven't read up on any of the offerings yet, I'll have to see if there are summaries on some website.

Shenae Grimes-Beech returns to acting after five years for... a Hallmark movie! She filmed this DITL on set when she wasn't yet allowed to speak about the project but it's out in the open now.
She stars alongside Niall Matter and Beth Broderick in When I Think About Christmas (Hallmark Channel, November 20), the story of a woman who returns to her hometown to help her mother only to find out her high school sweetheart is also back home. The two once planned a life together filled with music but when Sara moved away to study law, the dream came to an end... Can they reconnect and find their way back to each other through music?
Here's a look at a day on a Hallmark Christmas movie set in summer 2022:

I canāt get into Hallmark movies unless it is in a snarky-bingo-drinking game kind of way š but I have a soft spot for Lindsey and hope she can get it/keep it together. She had a lot of talent

I'm not ready for Christmas movies! but thanks for sharing, I'll check them out soon.
My husband couldn't find anything to watch the other night so he put on Hallmark for the premiere of Pumpkin Everything! It had a lot more real life drama than I was expecting - elders aging out of their homes and not wanting to admit to their difficulties, accidents and injuries, and the love interest had made every bad choice/destroyed every relationship he had in the town before getting sober. But balanced by the usual OTT fall ridiculousness, a realtor who learns work/life balance (and magically doesn't lose all her clients), the mythical thriving small town with small local businesses, and what's the town called...? Autumnboro! lol.

There are 6 Lifetime movies being filmed in Fairmont, WV, a town about 20 minutes away from me. The writer/director of Feast of the Seven Fishes (which is phenomenal by the way) is from Fairmont. He worked out the deal and is directing at least one of them.
Fairmont is a super cute town that fell on hard times with the decline of the coal industry and the other industries that relied on it. The downtown nearly died but a dedicated group of citizens has been working hard to revitalize it and it looks like their hard work is paying off.
West Virginia is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so excited to see these films. I know at least one of them is Christmas but I don't know how long production takes for these and if we'll be able to see it this year or not.
Either way, add Feast of the Seven Fishes to your holiday watch list. It's very good and gives a pretty good picture of the Christmas Eve "events" I remember as a kid growing up. My dad's side of the family is Catholic and this is pretty true to my experience. I think we watched it on Amazon Prime.

I'd love to watch some movies filmed there. I don't have Lifetime but I might be able to check out Feast of the Seven Fishes.

Christmas Story Christmas is coming in November to HBO Max. I just watched the trailer and it looks really good.
I also discovered someone made a sequel in 2012 and it doesn't look good. I think that's why we haven't heard of it.

Iām glad I popped over to this board. I love Christmas movies. I just watched Over Christmas on Netflix a German mini series only 3 episodes. Not the typical Hallmark movie but I really enjoyed it. Of course part of it was the gorgeous scenery and village scenes.

It's been a mere 2 days I've had Christmas movies on and I've gone into full blown holiday mode.. I want to take down all of my Halloween decorations to get the good stuff up šš Working from home means I can have them on all day! lol Here's my mini disjointed rundown of each of them so far -- everything under spoilers cos.. we'll they're spoilery Noel Next Door 10/21 I mentioned it previously but the premise itself took me out and tbh regardless of how I felt about the movie as a whole it was ruined by an abled actor playing someone who previously had a stroke with very obvious physical disabilities. The leads had great chemistry and I'd like to see them play opposite one another in something else but I highly doubt I'll watch this again. The male lead played a great grumpy gus that made me laugh a few times but so much of what happened was completely unnecessary -- multiple side characters were straight up terrible individuals and unnecessarily mean. I mean that blind date he went on? Who talks like that to another person?! Sooooo much of this was suspension of disbelief. You're really going to tell me you live practically (or literally??) next door yet you don't know each other outside of running into one another at a diner? And your child LITERALLY told you about the mean man in another apartment with a cane.. who you know is also the same guy who shut his door on your friend and daughter when they went caroling.. yet when a grumpy man with a cane comes into your place of work and tells you he doesn't like Christmas you don't.. I dunno, put 2 and 2 together even in the slightest? I guess because he's cute all critical thinking goes out the window lol We Wish You a Married Christmas 10/22 Oh my GOD I loved this š It had everything -- people in a relationship yet somewhat "foes" with one another as their relationship is in jeopardy (bordering on my favorite enemies to lovers trope) in addition to being stuck in a small town (forced proximity), AND a cute dog?! I love Kristoffer Polaha but he's had some real big trash fire Hallmark movies the past few years. This was soooo much better -- like peak cheese-fest. During the "parade" when they see their dog on the float and he yells JERRY! gave me a huge laugh. It'll definitely make into my rotation of re-watches along the likes of Snow Bride and Christmas in Evergreen.
..also I'm not afraid to admit at the very end when he got all sexy growl-y and serious talking to her before they kiss I was literally giggling and yelling "AHHHHHH" at my television lmaooo š¤£
We Need a Little Christmas 10/22 After the hilarious banger that was We Wish You a Married Christmas this one was sad.. as in I literally teared up at my desk today watching it sort of sad! Seeing people cry makes me cry and suddenly I'm over here welling up lol. I should've known seeing as it was on the movies and mysteries channel and they always put the more serious movies on there. I think the relationship portion of the movie was really secondary.. if not tertiary to the rest of it. And quite honestly, could have been done without? The relationship between the mom & her son with the older neighbor was so much stronger than anything having to do with the male lead. Even the story with the neighbor's grandson not being able to make it in time for Christmas and how lonely she was was a much better story to follow than the romantic one. A Kismet Christmas 10/23 The 9 year age gap between the leads shows and having them play themselves as teenagers it was more goofy and ridiculous than I've seen before! Pigtails doesn't turn you into a 15 year old no matter how big your scrunchies are. It has that dumb trope of "it's Christmas Eve and we don't have a tree yet!" *insert shock face*. My dude you have a young child, get that kid a tree! It also has ~real magic~ which isn't something Hallmark does too often which was cute but very meh when next to both of Saturdays films.

Stumbling back on the board after some work madness (seriously, I don't know how people with 2/3 jobs in the US manage it - I had a few 8AM-9PM workdays and I was completely burnt out) + 1st proper vacay since 2019... If there's one thing I've kept up with through it all, it's the start of the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas season! Just need to see Christmas Bedtime Stories and I'll be completely up to date.
So far, Ghosts of Christmas Always from last Sunday night is the winner for me. So, so good. It's not a simple, straightforward story to follow. There are a few major twists that require your focus but it's top notch Christmas movie material. Very impressed.

I think I've seen all the new Hallmark ones, with the exception of Christmas Bedtime Stories. 4/5 stars - Ghosts of Christmas Always - really enjoyed this one; would watch it again
3/5 stars - A Kismet Christmas - enjoyable; I recognized the female lead from the TV show Parenthood - she played the teenage daughter of one of the adult "kids"
3/5 stars - We Need a Little Christmas - really sweet story
2/5 stars - We Wish You a Married Christmas - I didn't finish this one; found the pacing slow. I typically give ejected movies a 1 star rating, but I intend to try this one again.
3/5 stars - Jolly Good Christmas - cute; although it annoyed me that he bought her the pen, when she intended to buy it for herself AFTER she finished her book
4/5 stars - Noel Next Door - the acting was really well done; would watch it again
2/5 stars - A Cozy Christmas Inn - it was fine. It's a kind of sequel to Christmas Under Wraps, with maybe a slight passive aggressive mention of the previous female lead, CCB, who went to Great American Family (good riddance, lol!)

Welcome back and for the review! Your absence was noticed, but I didn't think it had been long enough to start sending out the search crew. Aww, thank you. š I should've left one of you a post-it note with a little xoxo and a mention about being back in a couple of weeks... I need to catch up on the DD thread now! Oof, that's going to be a job. Did I miss any drama while I was away? Becky rambling on IG stories? April pregnant again? (teehee) Studio Calico messing things up at the warehouse? š Currently twinning with Ryann for the reviews except for We Wish You a Married Christmas which I did finish. The way the couple fawned over their dog throughout the entire movie was cute. š I'm enjoying Hallmark leaning into the tropes and making fun of them this year. They are also more progressive than usual with various interracial couples, gay couples, couples who aren't bound by the idea of having children, single parents who are more than ok with their single parent status, a lead whose ex is now married to the person they cheated with (that's a big one for Hallmark), female lead showing off her box of tampons being like "yeah, I need these once a month, get over it" when she bumps into her love interest at the grocery store, etc. It's very refreshing. The preview + sneak peek for Shenae Grimes-Beech upcoming movie just dropped and I have such a soft spot for her. I think she's a great small screen actress. She'll be singing in this movie and was nervous about it but I remembered she did some back-up vocals on her husband's song Lovers 10-ish years ago so I'm sure she'll sound great! I'm really glad to have her back at Hallmark after five years. When I Think of Christmas starring Shenae Grimes-Beech // Bonus: Lovers by (Josh) Beech starring Shenae (and it's a lovely song š) //
